In a recent tweet that has stirred significant conversation, Nigerian man Raphael @Raphael shocker shared his belief that marriage has become a means for average Nigerian women to escape poverty.
His tweet read:
“Marriage these days for an average Nigerian woman is to escape poverty. Vet her very well kings. Too many baddies out there looking for the nice guy.”
his statement led to responses from people on the net, with some agreeing and others strongly disagreeing.
The topic has become a talking point, creating discussions on the gender roles prevalent in Nigerian society today.
While some argue that his views are a reflection of the harsh realities faced by many Nigerian women today, others agree that such a generalization is indeed true, and some argue that reducing marriage to a mere economic transaction down grades the importance of love, companionship, and marriage.
The conversation has shed light on the challenges faced by Nigerian women in their pursuit of financial stability and independence.
As the conversation continues, it is hoped that a more ideal understanding of marriage in Nigerian society will emerge, and hoping that gender equality and female empowerment will be promoted, so Nigerian women can thrive in all aspects of life without them depending on marriage.

The above is within the context of my 2021 post on social media and is in no way presumptuous but uprightly to inspire – I could not enroll at a tertiary institution in 1997 because my single mother did not have the funds. If free SHS was available back in the day, most likely I would have graduated in 2000/2001.
My career took off and I have been blessed but as someone who relishes education getting that degree was just a matter of time.
I complete my Masters program this December and I am sorely motivated and committed to go even beyond, God willing.
I thank all those who supported me and is supporting me during this journey.
An American woman has taken a dig at Nigerian women who advised her against dating Nigerian men because they are not ‘good’ people.
The woman initially shared a video where she stated her preference for dating Nigerian men because they literally worship and ‘bow down to her feet’.
She added that American men do the bare minimum for them, but Nigerian men respect their partners and marriage, and would never watch them suffer.
Apparently, the video attracted criticisms from Nigerian women who warned her against getting involved with Nigerian men because they are not as good as they seem.
In response to the negative comments she received, particularly from Nigerian women, she posted a follow-up video defending her choice.
She questioned the criticism, stating that if Nigerian men were truly as bad as portrayed, then why are Nigerian women still dating and marrying them.
She also mentioned that she can’t take the advice of Nigerian women, citing their tendency to stay in marriages even after discovering their husbands’ infidelity.
Her words,
“The reason I will never take advice from African women, moreso Nigerian women, is because if Nigerian men are so bad, why do you guys not leave them alone? Why are you guys still putting up with their shit? Why are you guys stuck with them years after years after you found out they cheated on you? It is not making sense. You guys come and comment to us American women that date Nigerians but guys will literally find out your husbands has three girlfriends and two boyfriends on the side and still stick with them. So I am very confused as to why you guys come to American women’s comment and say things like ‘Oh you be hurting soon’”

Many of today’s smartphones are now capable of professional grade photography, a far cry from the first generation of phones which were designed entirely as communications devices. In the early days of mobile phone technology, brands like Nokia were quickly developing devices that could do more than just phone calls. After the addition of SMS texting, features such as video games, support for mp3 audio playback, predictive text support and more became important features. These features soon became key points of product differentiation in the industry, and it wasn’t long before camera technology was integrated as a new feature.
Users soon discovered however that the image quality offered on a mobile phone was far behind the quality found on professional cameras. In 2005, users could expect to be treated to a rear camera with a 1.3-megapixel sensor, plus a basic LED flash that could produce photos of 1MP quality. To most users this was more of a novelty, than a go-to feature. The OS offered virtually no photography settings (other than flash on, or off) and of course, no video support at all.
Today, 4K video recording at 30fps and 60fps is a feature found on the rear cameras of most flagship smartphones. However, outside of high-end and flagship devices, it is seldom found as an option for younger users who prefer front camera photography. With the launch of ZERO 30 5G, Infinix has proven that it is possible to make front camera Ultra HD video a reality on a mid-tier device, but why is this important, and what advantages can it bring to users around the world?
4K video and the demands of young photographic maestros
The road to Ultra HD video recording may not have been an easy one, but today, the problem for many users is that genuine Ultra HD photography has until now at least been reserved for high-end, flagship devices that command top-tier prices. This is particularly true of the front camera, which on most more affordable, mid-tier smartphones remain limited to Full HD video recording.
It’s easy to understand why young people today are demanding Ultra HD video capability on their smartphones. 4K video looks better. Video content shot in 4K resolution captures far more detail thanks to the massive number of pixels involved. 4K means having 3840 pixels horizontally and 2160 pixels vertically. Multiply these values and you get 8,294,400 pixels, or approx 8.3 million pixels, or 8.3 megapixels. That’s a lot of pixels! This is way more than 1080p for example which equates to little over 2 million pixels.
Video quality isn’t just about pixels, a frame rate of 60fps also ensures greater clarity, even when the action ramps up, eliminating blur and stutter. We can also see that the technology industry in general agrees. The vast majority of today’s 4K/Ultra HD TVs operate at 60fps, this is because the TV and entertainment industry regard 60fps to be the ideal frame rate for a smooth, crisp viewing experience. If we look at PC and console gaming, again 60fps is considered the ideal frame rate for smooth gameplay.
Welcome to the next generation of vlogging
As discussed, Infinix ZERO 30 5G puts you in the lead role with a front-facing 50MP camera capable of shooting Ultra High Definition 4K video at a stunning 60 frames-per-second. The primary motivation behind these innovations is to give users the chance to evolve beyond selfies and become the next-generation of avid video bloggers, or vloggers.
As well as giving the users the ability to capture every moment of life in incredible detail and clarity, young cinematic maestros can also take advantage of several unique video shooting modes that place them in the director’s chair. Engage Movie Filter mode to create 2.35:1 ratio video content for a more authentic cinematic look, or use Dual View to capture the action from both sides of the camera with simultaneous front and rear video recording. Dual Micro-slit Flash allows you to film the moment in all light conditions. PDAF (Phase Detection AutoFocus) ensures sharp, stunning high-quality content every time whether you’re taking a selfie or recording a video.
Let’s not forget too that Infinix ZERO 30 5G boasts a 108MP rear camera that delivers stunningly sharp, crisp photos in low light thanks to a 1/1.67” sensor and a glass lens that captures 10% more light than standard lenses. It combines OIS and EIS technologies to ensure stable image capture for both photography and video. Triple lossless zoom allows users to enjoy incredible detail from a distance, while a 120° wide lens helps users capture the world as they see it. “What it truly thrives at is camera performance, the ability to record 4K 60FPS selfie video which is something you barely see on Flagship devices let alone mid-range devices. Unfazed by the promoter’s explanation, Portable, who proudly proclaimed his background as a “street boy” from Lagos, threatened to physically assault him, boldly stating, “I go beat your father, nothing go happen”

Nigerian actress, Moyo Lawal has posted some pictures of herself on Instagram with a very lengthy caption where she spoke concerning her leaked private video.
Recall that the actress’s sex tape was a while ago by a yet to be identified person via x formerly known as twitter, which resulted in a lot of netizens bashing her for her negligence.
However, the actress has now voiced out her concerns regarding the issue via a post on Instagram where she wrote in the caption;
Until a lioness tells her story , every hunter will continue to be a hero . People always take quiet, non problematic people as fools . However, I think it is time for me to start talking .
One thing .. I can tell you for a fact however is that things are never what they seem to be. I only had xxx twice last year , one of those times is the video. That I agreed to because he started recording after the fact , he doesn’t live in nigeria , he put in a lot of work winning my trust over the years and I mean a lot . So much so, we were already working towards a house , marriage and all. That is why I had to break up with him last year , when I started having communication challenges with him, because I put my entire life on pause with any man I am dating .
I have not made so many sacrifices by turning down so many dating offers , sleeping alone 90% of my entire adult life , choosing to be alone .. to have an ugly video that happened when I was ill, hanging over my head ( meanwhile to the set of unbelievers who actually thought that video was released by me , because of a foolish narrative that started because I didn’t point fingers or start trash talking or blaming anyone and stayed quiet to end it all quickly …. … I honestly don’t know what to tell you )
(The rest of my caption is in my slides)
P.s They say what doesn’t kill you makea you stronger and changes you . I pray I become carefree and outgoing because doing life the right way has shown my enemy shege.
Fans and colleagues have shown their support and advised her to stay strong and stop explaining to people, because she owes no one an explanation.
Reality TV star,Ike Onyema, has seemingly taken a swipe at his ex-lover and fellow reality TV star, Mercy Eke, in response to her recent viral interview video.
The former Big Brother Naija star took to the microblogging platform X to share a photo of himself with a caption that appeared to indirectly reference someone.
In his caption, he mentioned that this person promotes women supporting each other until it involves supporting another woman. He included a suggestive hashtag, describing the person as a ‘crocodile.’

He tweeted,
“Women supporting women, until it’s another woman turn.
#crocodile #Queenmaker #Godfather”
In a comical turn of events, a sugar daddy has taken extraordinary measures to warn his side chick about an unexpected visit from his wife. The daring lady recently took to social media to share the unusual request her married lover made, leaving netizens in fits of laughter.
According to the lady who revealed her affair online, she found herself entangled in a romantic relationship with a married man. Unfortunately for her, the wife stumbled upon their secret rendezvous, prompting the sugar daddy to take swift action.
In a desperate attempt to prepare his side chick for a potentially explosive encounter, the sugar daddy resorted to the privacy of her DM on WhatsApp.
In a series of messages, he pleaded with her not to retaliate if his wife were to unleash her fury with a slap across the cheek.
While the request might seem bizarre, the sugar daddy’s concern for his side chick’s well-being is undeniable. Perhaps he believes that a slap on the cheek is the ultimate test of loyalty to their affair or maybe he anticipates a slap so spectacular that it could rival any Nollywood drama.
Online users found the whole situation hilarious and silly, with some suggesting that the sugar daddy should have invested in a more creative solution, like a disguise or a secret trapdoor to escape.
Whatever the case, when it comes to unexpected visits from angry spouses, it’s always best to prepare for the unexpected—and keep your cheeks ready for action!
