I get inspirations from watching mad men — Akpororo

Akpororo had a chat with Nigerian Tribune and he’s revealed where he get’s his inspiration from watching mad men.

Here are excerpts from the chat;

It’s been about seven years since you started and you have become one of Nigeria’s most sought-after comedians. What would you have to say about that?

I want to thank God for that first. Now, I have my own platform, which is Akpororo Vs Akpororo. I am happy with what God has given me: my family, the experiences. I thank God for His grace upon my life.

As a young comedian, would say that you encountered no challenges on your way up?

I am a man with favour and grace. My brother, I just give God the glory. With grace, there are no challenges. I am just favoured.

Omobaba recently talked about “godfatherism” as a factor in the comedy industry. What do you have to say about it?

I don’t know about that because I do not have any godfather. What I know is, as a new comedian, you must look for platform. If that platform is what he called “godfatherism” I don’t know. In spite of your talent, as a new comedian, you must locate the platform that will bring you out. And the truth is most of our senior colleagues have the platforms. So, you have to work hard and make sure they notice you before you can use their platforms. It is from their platform that people will know you and you will be able to get shows as well as build yourself.

What were the things you did to locate the platform that brought you out? And who helped you?

Just like I said before, I am favoured. And I believe it is not just me. I know there are many people enjoying the same grace as me. I went for National Comedy Challenge organised by Guinness and other competitions then. Beside these platforms, you also need prime platforms to perform. For instance, Basketmouth saw me in Coco Lounge and featured me in his show. And from there, things picked up. He also was the first person to take me to London.

So, Basketmouth is your godfather in the industry?

He is a senior colleague and someone who gave me my first major lift in the industry. And like I said, he was the first person that took me to London. That was in 2012, about a year after I came into the industry.

In your own opinion, what makes a joke very funny in Nigeria?

[Smiles] My brother, this question eh! What makes a joke funny is in the way it is told. First, Nigeria on its own is funny. We have so many funny things around us. So, in telling a joke, we talk about things that people experience every day. I am talking about street life, Lagos drivers and their conductors, poverty and wealth. These are things that people know and can relate to. As comedians, what we do is to tell these real life stories and because Nigeria is a funny country, these stories become funny to those who know and can relate to them. Let me also say that, we also imagine or project into situations. We can fast-ward or rewind a particular incident just to know how it could have been. Most times people find truth in these things. And that technique is always successful especially when you have creative imagination. Mostly, what we do now is to dwell on real life incidents. Any incident that happens in Nigeria today is a material short and simple. So to make a joke funny, just be observant especially when you are walking around Lagos. You will see funny things. Even as we are talking now, I don dey get material.

In the comedy industry, people have their own niche. Some comedians dance, some sing and some combine talking, dancing and singing. You do not only combine everything, you also have this crazy person’s persona. What inspired it?

It is my own style. I figured that if you are coming into the industry you need to bring something new. Like you said, some comedians sing, dance and even act drunk. I know I can dance and sing, but I wanted to stand out, so I introduced something. People talk about mad people a lot in jokes, but I decided to act it out. It is my strategy and I want to thank God for what He has done.

But where did you pick it up?

I watch mad men. I observe them a lot.

Every Nigerian who reads this story will surely be in awe cause we all remember the tragic story of Kechi Okwuchi, the Jesuit college student who was among the 2 people that survived the Sosoliso plane crash which took 107 lives years ago.

Impressively, Kechi was one of the contestants at the 2017 America’s Got Talent who succeeded in impressing the judges and audience.

She in her introduction, gave reason of how she fell in love with music after experiencing the crashed plane which killed 107 passengers out of 109

“I was in a plane crash when I was about 16 years old back in Nigeria. It took the lives of a 107 out of a 109 passengers, and I was one of the 2 survivors,” she said, adding that lying in the bed in the hospital and not being able to move, music was her escape.

Kelechi was able to share her voice on America’s Got Talent after she underwent several surgeries through pain and her solace in family and music.

Simeon Cowell even gave her a standing ovation when it was all done.

In 2005, the ill-fated Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 coming from Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja crashed and erupted in flames at the Port Harcourt International Airport.

7 people were rescued alive from the burning plane, but only 2 survived the horrible experience.

“Dammy Krane had left Tuface’s Hypertek record since February 2015. Tuface is trying to build a reputable company and they do not want any negative news. That is why they did not announce his exit from the label. They had issues with him over the way he was doing collaborations with other artistes. It was not part of the contract that he signed, so technically it is a breach of contract. They gave him several warnings which he did not adhere to, so they had no choice but to terminate the contract that they had with him. They did not make any noise about it because they did not want anything that would dent his image and that of the company. Uche, who was once married to ex-Nigerian Footballer, Ato Ubby, revealed that her daughter has never met her father.

“As a single mother, life is more fulfilling than it would have been as a single girl without a child.

I’m still hoping to find that wonderful human being that would fill the remaining part of my needs. I’m open to anything. Yes, I’m dating, but I haven’t found the one.

Back in the days, I used to say this is the kind of man I want and all that but you know, we’re women and when a different kind of man comes and lies to you, you just fall head over heels.

In the past, I always painted pictures, but eventually I fell for the wrong person. So, let God give me the kind of man that he knows is best for me.”

On her relationship with your ex, she said:

“We’re not talking. He doesn’t keep in touch, but that’s fine.”

On what fame has robbed her of, she said:

“Fame has also brought me negative attention from guys in the area of relationship. People tend to fall in love with the you on TV and not the real you.

And when they get to know the real you, they might not like it, but still stick around just because you’re famous. And then you end up hurting each other, because the relationship is fake and based on fantasy.”

On the babymama trend, she said:

“I’m a single mother already. It happened by fate. I never wanted it to happen this way. I wanted to be married. I think it’s an individual thing. I don’t judge people.

I want to get married. I need a partner in my life, because I don’t think I want to spend the rest of my life alone with my children. Even at this age, my daughter keeps asking me about her father. She has never seen him.

This isn’t what I want and it hurts me sometimes. But what can I do and I am hoping that I can get a good daddy for my daughter. I pray that someday I will be able to say to my daughter ‘This is your daddy’, because every time she asks I never say anything.”

5 Year Old Girl Raped

Favour Ilo is a 5-year-old girl in kindergarten and the daughter of a carpenter and akara seller who was raped in school by the Headmistress’ grown son in Awka, Anambra State on Monday, June 5th.

The suspect’s mother, Mrs Onwuzulike allegedly wants to close the case by offering a Hundred thousand Naira to the victim’s parents.

Below is the full report by lawyer and human rights activist, Emeka Ugwuonye:

RAPE OF A 5-YEAR OLD BEING COVERED WITH MONEY
DPA has just stopped an attempt to bury the case of the rape of a 5-year old girl in kindergarten in Awka, Anambra State.

Yesterday, DPA got involved in the investigation of a rape case involving a 5-year old girl. We got the wind that the father of the girl was offered 100k by the owners of the kindergaton where the incident occurred in order for him to bury the case. I warned the man not to accept the money, but to work with DPA to ensure the arrest of the rapist.

At the same time, DPA dispatched a team of investigators to the crime scene. Our investigators swooped in on them as they were exchanging money to cover up the case. They even wrote up an agreement to close the case . DPA operatives took pictures of their illegal agreement and pictures of them exchanging money.

We shall now be seeking the arrest and prosecution of all those involved in this macabre deal. We have the picture of the girl and her father and the owner of the kindergarten handing over money to him.

DPA is going to crack down on all those who harm innocent children in this country. The rape of a 5- year old and the use of money to cover it up are crimes we must fight against. I will be heading from Abuja straight to Anambra State where I intend to meet with the Governor over this case.

NOTE:
Point of clarification. We knew they made the offer of money. We needed the evidence. So DPA set up the plan to capture the evidence of their plan. We needed those who made the offer to put it in writing to remove their plan from the point of deniability.
When it is safe to do So, I may reveal the names of the DPA operatives who carried out this operation, Operation Young Shall Grow.

Man Nabbed With Human Head

38-year-old Ajibade Rasheed who was caught with fresh human head, vagina and many other parts in Osogbo, capital of Osun State has disclosed that he planned to use them for money ritual after the ongoing Ramadan ends.

Ajibade, an indigene of Ikirun in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State was caught with a fresh head of a woman, intestine, lung, vagina, liver and a bottle containing blood during a stop and search operation by the police in Osogbo in his car with registration no: LSD 987 DJ.

The man who says he’s an Alfa and said he was also a herbalist was arrested in an SUV, which he said belonged to his elder brother. The gory human parts were found inside a small sack he kept in the vehicle.

Speaking with journalists at the Osun State Police Command headquarters, the suspect said he was not the one who butchered the victim but his client, who wanted the money ritual.

Ajibade said the client, who is also an Alfa and specialised in healing mentally challenged persons, simply brought the human parts to him and left.

He stated that he had intended to preserve the human parts until after the Ramadan when he would be free to use the parts for the ritual.

He, however, said the client, who he identified simply as Olorungbebe did not want the kind of ritual, which would bring small amounts of money but the one which would banish poverty from his life.

He said,

“I am an Alfa and a herbalist. There is a man, who is also an Alfa; he came to my place and told me that he wanted to do money ritual. I told him that getting the materials needed for the ritual would be difficult but he agreed to bring the materials by himself.

“So, the man came on Wednesday morning from Aagba town with the human parts for the ritual. The body parts he brought are fresh human head, hands, inner parts and vagina. I did not know that he would bring the materials that morning.

“I told him that we are in the Ramadan period and he should wait till after Ramadan before I could do it. This is my first time of doing this kind of money ritual although I do other ones but not this type.

“The man told me he wanted to do money ritual and I told him the difficulty in finding the materials and he told me that he would get them and he did.

I am a Muslim and I’m fasting also even when he brought the human parts I told him that this is not the time for such ‘work’.
“The man told me the situations of things in his life and pleaded with me to help him to do it. He did not want the kind of money rituals, which would not bring huge amount of money. He wanted the kind of ritual which brings huge amount of money.”

The interview session with journalists abruptly ended when the policemen, who arrested him asked him to pour the content of the bag on the ground for everybody to see.

Despite wearing nose masks, most police officers present and journalists started retching while few other actually threw up due to the stench which oozed out of the sack.

The head was still dripping blood but the liver and the lungs were already decaying.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Finihan Adeoye, said the police would ensure that Olorungbebe was apprehended and the identity of the female victim was revealed.

Adeoye said,

“We will surely arrest his partner. We want to know how he got those humans parts, where he got them from and the identity of the victim.”

On how much she has contributed to his success:

I would want my wife to be God-fearing and good looking because I have worked hard to the stage that I deserve a good looking woman.”

On his album and the money he lost to MMM:

“The message I am trying to pass with my new album, ‘Money Making Machine,’ is that everyone should work hard and be patient. Prayer is the key and with all these, success is guaranteed. You also have to work smart. I have both inspirational and dance songs in the album. I also have love songs, it is a complete album. I intentionally explored all kinds of music for my fans; I owed them something extraordinary. I actually got the inspiration for the title of the album from the Ponzi scheme, MMM, which I was a victim. I know that with the album, I would recoup the money I lost.”

Nollywood actor, Muyiwa Ademola has revealed the major reason why most Nollywood actors die.

In a chat with PUNCH, Muyiwa says leading cause of death among actors is the inability for them to go for medical checkups due to their busy schedule day and night.

In the space of a month, at least four actors have died in Nollywood, the most recent being Moji Olaiya. No doubt, this is currently a sad time for the movie industry.

According to him, most of these deaths are caused by accumulated stress and could be avoided if one takes care of the body.

“A very big problem we have in our industry is that we work round the clock, we spend nights at movie locations but we don’t go for medical check-up. I have a doctor and I go for medical check-up every three weeks. I know when to take some days off work. For instance, if I work for about two weeks, I take a few days off to relax. I would just eat and rest. I also make sure I go on vacations and all I do in those times is just to eat and sleep. Most of the deaths in the movie industry are a result of accumulated stress without paying attention to one’s health.”

Many folks online have been asking about the welfare of The hero in the video—thepoliceman who gunned down one of the robbers.

It is sad to report to you that the brave officer who engaged the robbers died in April.. He has been identified as Sergeant Chukwudi Iboko.

The spokesperson for the Imo State police command, Andrew Enwerem revealed to PUNCH that the brave sergeant died while he was in intensive care in April, that is two months after he engaged the robbers in a gun battle in February.

Andrew revealed that two other policemen were also present in the security post during the shootout and they sustained gunshot injuries.

“They were in intensive care for up to two months. The two survived but Iboko died. He was a sergeant and mobile policeman,” Enwerem said.

Two Drug Traffickers Arrested At Lagos Airport; One Excretes 1.105kg Of Heroin.

Two drug traffickers, identified as 59-year-old Joseph Oparaji Okechukwu, and 41-year-old Austine Ikenna Nnaji, have both been apprehended by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for reportedly trying to smuggle drugs out of the country, through the Lagos airport.

Confessing to the crime, Joseph who revealed he was a contractor, blamed the present economic recession in Nigeria for nudging him into drug smuggling.

The other suspect, Austine, identified as a safety officer in Qatar, Mr. Nnaji reportedly feigned ignorance of the content of his luggage, which he claimed to have received from a friend at the airport.

Okechukwu was bound for New York City on Turkish Airlines while Mr. Nnaji was on his way to Doha, Qatar on Ethiopian Airlines. Okechukwu excreted 1.105 kg of brownish substances that tested positive for heroin. Nnaji, was found to have concealed 11.540 kg of marijuana and 490 grams of tramadol in his luggage.

Ghanaian Footballer Jailed

A Swedish court on Friday sentenced a Ghanaian football player in Sweden’s second division to two years in prison for raping and beating his wife.

After serving his sentence, 22-year-old Kwame Bonsu, who played for the Gefle IF club, will be expelled from the Scandinavian country where he has lived in since 2013, the Gavle District Court said.

Gefle on Friday said Bonsu was dismissed from the team with immediate effect. he will also have to pay 245,000 kronor (at least 25,000 euros, $28,000) in compensation to his wife, who is a Swedish national.

He first met her in 2014 when he was playing in the southern Swedish city of Mjolby. They married the following year. A few months after the wedding he signed a transfer to the town of Gavle, located about 300 kilometres (190 miles) away from Mjolby.

Bonsu’s wife had wanted him to stay to continue his studies. The victim said the rape and beatings took place in the couple’s apartment during an evening in November 2015 when he had refused to let her out.

Bonsu repeatedly denied the charges, but testimony from his wife’s relatives led the court to believe the victim’s version of events.

“Igbos Should Go!” – Northern Groups Insists, Slam Kaduna And Borno Governors.

Northern Groups

The northern groups which issued the quit threat on Tuesday, have defended their actions as they urge the Federal Government to begin the process of actualizing the South-East’s clamour for Biafra.

The five groups, in a statement by their spokesman, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, insisted on their ultimatum to the Igbo to move out of the 19 northern states.

The groups berated el-Rufai and Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, for not supporting their cause, saying the two governors took sides because of their “blind ambition for the vice-presidency.”

Speaking on behalf of the youth leaders, Suleiman said:

“We are disappointed by the treacherous positions assumed by governors Nasir el-Rufai and Kashim Shettima, who, in pursuit of their blind ambition for the vice-presidency, chose to side with the secessionist Igbo against the interest of peace-loving Nigerians.

“The governors are known to be waiting in the wings for Mr. President to die, so they can further their plots to seek the Presidency.

“We are irked by the hordes of lies issued by Shettima, ostensibly on behalf of the 19 northern governors, in which he referred to us as faceless. Shettima has disconnected from reality.”We restate our determination and commitment to ensuring that the North will never partake in any contrived arrangement that would still have the Biafran Igbo as a component.

“We reiterate our call on Nigerian authorities and recognised international bodies such as ECOWAS, the AU (African Union) and the UN (United Nations) to hasten the initiation of the process for the final actualisation of the Biafran nation and, with it, the excision of the Igbo out of the present federation.

“We urge the Federal Government, as a matter of urgency, to initiate the process for a peaceful referendum to allow the Igbo to go. Let them go.”

Meanwhile, the Arewa Consultative Forum said on Thursday that it was not a party to the coalition’s decision, adding that the ACF stood by its earlier statement.

Mother of slain Major Adam Mahama who was lynched by a mob in Ghana, Veronica Bamford, has revealed how hard it is for her to accept the death of her son who will be laid to rest today at the Osu Military Cemetary.

“I am a woman of faith, so death and dying are not my fears but never in my wildest nightmares did I ever think I would be burying my son. Never!

The gruesome and horrific way my son was snatched from this earth is beyond any words” she’s quoted as saying in her tribute to her son at the state house burial held in Accra

According to the heartbroken mother, she has not only lost a son she so much adored, but an advisor and a helper who was always ready to lend support each time the need arose.

“The birth of my sweetest baby boy gave me the greatest gift of all. It made me a mother for the first time. Major Maxwell Adam Mahama was such a special child”, she revealed.

Her emotional tribute goes thus:

On 1st of November,1985, my sweet baby boy, for me the greatest gift of all-he made me a mother for the first time. Maxwell Adam Mahama was such a special child. He had a pure, loving, kind heart reflected in his always smiling face. Since childhood. Adam was very energetic. Throughout school, he always participated and excelled in sports.

This passion continued into adulthood. An avid sportsman. he played lawn tennis for the Army and for leisure. In addition to being a strong swimmer, he also recently explored golf and equestrianism. He was always learning. looking for ways to improve himself and to be a better human being.

As a compassionate animal lover, his respect for life also extended to his pets. His family and friends know of some of his dogs. especially Luna. who brought him so much joy. He would pay tribute to her on the anniversary of her death.
While I was in Ghana in March. he lost a dog and he spent time alone with the dead dog shedding tears, after which he buried it. Then he said ‘Mummy that was my children’s pet.

As soon as they wake up they go and check on it before anything else.” He said he had to get another dog for his children.

Adam loved his family fiercely. He had a great sense of duty to his family and to those around him’ you knew you could always count on Adam to be there whenever you needed him. I am so proud of the son I raised, an honourable man who took care of others,who protected his nation. He displayed true manhood the way he cared for his wife and kids.

The mother-of-two, married to Daniel Ademinokan, the ex-husband of actress Doris Simeon, shared photos of her and Daniel looking all cute n loved up, and while some followers complimented the photos, others saw it as another opportunity to accuse her of snatching the latter actress’s husband even though the couple reportedly got together after Daniel and Doris were separated.

18-yer-old Teenager identified as Raul Lopez, faces charges after he allegedly almost suffocated his pregnant girlfriend on Wednesday during a fight over what to name their baby.

News station, WBBH reported that, he started arguing with his girlfriend after he suggested naming the baby boy they are expecting after him, but she did not agree.

She eventually locked herself in a bedroom during the heated exchange.

He got into the room by removing the door knob, according to authorities, and covered his girlfriend’s nose and mouth with his hands until she began losing consciousness, then Her mom called 911 after breaking up the fight.

The Lee County Sheriff Office said the couple first started fighting about baby names Wednesday at Wal-Mart, but the dispute escalated when the pair returned to their home in Fort Myers, Florida and then confirmed that the baby was not injured.

Lopez faces felony charges of aggravated battery on a pregnant woman and domestic battery by strangulation, according to county records.

He was released from jail Wednesday and scheduled to appear in court on July 10.

The winner of the African Jollof Rice Challenge will go home with a $5000 prize, the organisers have announced.

According to the executive Producer of Brand Television Network, (Btv), Felix King, the argument on which country has the best Jollof rice informed the contest.

This debate sprang up from a statement by Lai Muhammed, Nigeria’s Minister of Information who said, “Senegalese Jollof Rice is the best and a counter claim by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo that, “We all know that Nigerian Jollof Rice is the best anywhere. We beat the Ghanaians and Senegalese hands down.”

King said: “There is no official position yet on which country has the best Jollof rice in Africa, hence,theBtv’s desire to unravel the mystery through this contest.

‘’None of the perspectives has proved convincing, despite Nigeria’s strong claims to the African cuisine. The different viewpoints on the streets have only generated more controversies and continuous placement of different points to back up individual claims.’’

An Executive Producer withBtv, Ororo Pattaya Otono, said the challenge would start with an online recipe contest, where the best contestants would be selected for the live screening and then the grand finale. He said the programme would end at the Reward Night that would coincide with the World Jollof Rice Day on August 22.

Ororo also said: “Jollof rice was born with controversy about its true origin, the best ingredients for cooking it and where the name itself was discovered.”

To the organisers, African Jollof Rice Challenge is more of an entertainment than a contest. It’s the positive and healthy exploration of the beauty of African entertainment that makes us one big continent. King describes the grand finale as a celebration of various African music, where African rhythm meets African Jollof Rice.

For Ororo, Jollof Rice is a unifying factor on the continent that brings us together to share great moments. Despite our differences, we have one major similarity – Jollof Rice. Hence the theme: One Africa, one Jollof rice, and different recipes.

Man Killed By His Brother Because Of A Glass Of Water.

man killed brotherA man was allegedly killed by his kenyan brother, Mr. Obenda in Nairobi over a glass of water while they were having dinner at the deceased home.

Mr. Collins Obenda Gavalwa, who recently appeared at a High Court in Nairobi, pleaded guilty to a lesser offence of manslaughter for killing his brother, Frankline Mulweye Gavalwa.
The court heard that on the fateful day (October 11, 2016) the accused, his late brother and their friend Mr. Christian Kadege had agreed to prepare dinner and eat together. But by the time the meal was ready and served Mr. Obenda had not arrived so Mr. Kadege, their friend ended up eating his share and then retired for the night.

Mr. Obenda later showed up at his brother’s house who was at that moment having his own meal. Mr. Mulweye ushered him in and welcomed him to join him for the meal.

Upon sitting down to join him in the meal, the accused took a glass of drinking water which his brother had beside his plate and used it in washing his hands, leading to an argument between them.

In a fit of anger, Mr. Mulweye punched his brother for using the water in the glass to wash his hands, the court heard.

The deceased then picked up a knife and attempted to stab the accused who instead grabbed it and stabbed him (deceased) on the left side of his chest killing him on the spot.

In fear of being arrested, Mr. Obenda fled the scene of the crime and boarded a bus to Vihiga County where he took refuge before surrendering to the police.

The accused admitted to killing his brother and asked the court for leniency saying he accidentally killed him in self-defence. His lawyer, Wokabi Mathenge, also asked the court to consider imposing a none custodial sentence for his client since he did not intend to kill his brother.
“The accused sincerely and profusely regrets his actions. He has reformed and has promised never to engage in crime,” Mr Mathenge said.
Justice Lessit, however, directed that the accused be remanded in custody until June 14 when a probation report will be available.

There was a little bit of drama on Thursday as Saudi Arabia’s football national team refused to observe a minute’s silence in honour of the victims of the London Bridge terror attack.

The shocking incident occurred ahead of the FIFA World Cup Asian qualifying match between Saudi Arabia and Australia.

When the stadium announcer called for a minute’s silence, 11 Australian players on the field lined up at the center circle with their arms on their teammates’ shoulders, but Saudi Arabian footballers ignored the tradition and took their positions on the pitch.

According to officials, the minute’s silence was approved by the Asian Football Confederation before the game and while Saudi Arabia’s national team agreed to the tribute, the players refused to pay their respects.

Last Saturday’s terror attack at London Bridge claimed the lives of seven people, including two Australian citizens.

After the match, a spokesperson for Football Federation Australia (FFA) also confirmed that they had an agreement with the Asian Football Confederation to hold minute’s silence for the victims of the London Bridge terror attack.

‘The FFA sought agreement from the Asian Football Confederation and the Saudi national team to hold a minute’s silence in memory of those lost in Saturday night’s terror bombings in London and in particular the two Australian women.

‘Both the AFC and the Saudi team agreed that the minute of silence could be held.

‘The FFA was further advised by Saudi team officials that this tradition was not in keeping with Saudi culture and they would move to their side of the field and respect our custom whilst taking their own positions on the field

The match ended 3- 2 in favour of Australia, leaving Saudi Arabia at 16 points in their qualifying group.

The Burial ceremony to lay slain Soldier, Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama is currently underway at the State House in Accra.

The funeral is expected to be attended by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and senior government officials. Also the religious community as well as other Ghanaians are in attendance.

Recall, the Soldier was murdered at Denkyira Obuasi in the central region after he was mistaken for an armed robber. Apparently, he was in the city on national assignment, the Ghanaian military hierarchy has said.

He was then lynched to death by residents after they found a weapon on him.. His death trended on Social media with many users condemning the act meted out on someone considered to be “human”.

During his funeral today, Mahama’s wife, Barbara Mahama did not regret the brief stay of the Major thanking him for sharing his life with her.

In an emotionally filled tribute, Barbara said:

“you wanted us to enjoy life and be happy.”

“I love you and I always told you. I always reminded you of what you mean to me. You meant the world to me, my everything.”

But marshalling the strength of Esther in the Bible, Barbara said although her husband had passed on she is happy he left fond memories behind.

“When I think about you, I only smile because you are more than a piece of flesh circulating on social media. You were full of life, energy, and vigour so I choose to remember you in that sense.”

The family of the late Major had made only one request of government, to erect a monument in the name of the slain soldier.

They want the name of the soldier to continue to convict the conscience of Ghanaians to reject mob injustice which is responsible for the death of scores of Ghanaians.

Mother Writes NYSC To Redeploy Her Son; See Her Shocking Reasons!

The National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, received a letter from a mother, Uwakwe Theresa, to redeploy her son, Chijioke Kingsley Nnamdi, because he suffers from spiritual attack referred to as ‘Ogugu’.

In the letter, she implores the NYSC to redeploy Her son who was posted to Yobe State back home so that he can be attended to by his Prophet/Exorcist.

She explained that what is behind her son’s condition is very mystical and that it is not a medical condition.

Soldier Sentenced To Death For Killing Boko Haram Suspect In Borno.

Soldier Sentenced

The Army General Court Martial in Borno State today sentenced a soldier, identified as Lance Corporal Hillary Joel, to death for killing a suspected Boko Haram terrorist.

The condemned soldier was found guilty of killing the suspected terrorist during a cordon and search operation by the army in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State. Lance Joel allegedly set the suspect ablaze, leading to his death.

Other soldiers who were tried along with him were handed different sanctions including jail terms and demotions.
