“70% Of Igbos Don’t Listen To Radio Or Read Newspapers” – Imo State Government Says.
Obinna Nshirim, the Imo state Commissioner for Information, Tourism and Public Utilities, has said ”70 percent of Ndigbo do not listen to news, they do not read newspaper.”
He stated this while speaking on the state government owned radio station, Imo Broadcasting Coporation, IBC, Owerri. That he “discovered” this during the yuletide season.
Nshirim also said he also discovered that Hausas are more informed as an Hausa shoemaker has a radio beside him which he listens to just to get informed.
”While others were enjoying their Christmas, I was moving all over the places because it is my duty as information commissioner to know how far I have informed the people”, as well as” to get feed back from them.” In what could be described as a shocking experience,”while going round I discovered to my horror, few things, that our people are not informed. “70 percent of Igbo do not listen to news, they do not read newspaper.” “I keep telling you, we say we are intelligent, we say we are informed but that Hausa boy that cleans your shoe has a radio in his pocket”, he simply put.
Armed Robbers Attack And Gun To Death Young Man Going To The Bank With N120,000.
A bank customer identified as Raymond Agada has been shot dead by armed robbers around the Swali market area, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
It was gathered that the robbers also stole N120,000 from the victim before killing him.
Agada was said to be on his way to deposit the money in an undisclosed commercial bank in Yenagoa when the hoodlums rounded him up and attacked him.
A source, who spoke to the The Nation, said the victim’s sister, a known trader in the market instructed him to pay the money into the account number of her creditors.
“The late Agada has been running similar errands for his sister. He does it on daily basis. His sister receives goods on credit from her customers and after selling them, she pays the money into the account of her customers, most times through her brother.
“It is like persons who attacked him had monitored the transactional process for sometimes. It is a pity”.
It was learnt that the victim was attacked at about 11 am, by a four-man gang shortly after he left the market. He was reportedly shot in the neck by his assailants.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident said the deceased was 20-year-old adding that Agada was killed on Tuesday.
He said the police quickly moved to the scene and rushed to the victim to the hospital where he later died.
He, however, said that the police identified the culprits and were making efforts to arrest them. He said:
“On 3rd January 2017, at about 1100hrs, four armed men with a pistol, attacked one Raymond Agada ‘m’ 20 years, of Swali Community, dispossessed him of the sum of #120,000, he was going to deposit in the bank and shot him.
“Policemen were quickly dispatched to the scene and the victim was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
“The culprits have been identified and efforts have been intensified to arrest them”.

Woman Gets Her Ear Bitten And Swallowed By Husband’s Lover During Fight In Kenya. (Photo)
A Kenyan woman has been arrested by the police for biting off the ear lobe of her lover’s wife, Grace Washeko, and swallowing a piece of the ear during a fight between the both of them.
Star reports that the unnamed woman from the Voi, attacked her rival during a fight over the man on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, and in the process, bit off Washeko’s ear.
The victim, a mother of one, who is now in a hospital, narrated that the woman who is her husband’s mistress visited her at her workplace and engaged her in a fight over her husband, bit off her ear lobe and swallowed it.
While speaking on the incident, Washeko said:
“She laughed at me saying she had taken my husband away. I got angry and we began fighting. She bit my ear and swallowed the piece.
I don’t know what is wrong with my husband because whenever he comes back, he complains that he is sexually starved and hungry. He acts very abnormally.
His parents have asked him to end the relationship with the 40-year old woman but my 27-year old husband has refused to heed their call,” she said.
The injured woman said she has reported the incident to police and is waiting for the police to get into action and arrest her attacker and bring her to book.

Enraged Wife Rams Hubby’s Van After Catching Him With His Young Lover. (Photos)
A furious wife rammed into her husband’s van off the road and smashed into his young lover’s car after discovering their affair.
The reported road rage followed a fracas between the man, his wife and his lover in a car park in New South Wales, Australia.
One witness claimed the jealous wife also repeatedly drove her 4×4 into a car owned by the younger woman which was parked up at a nearby surf club.
The witness also claimed the wife assaulted both her husband and his mistress after they got out of their car.
A police source told Daily Mail Australia that the incident was a “domestic”, adding: “The wife found her hubby down the road with another girlfriend and she’s rammed him in his car.”
A Ford Ranger, a Ford Transit van and a yellow Kia were found damaged nearby. No-one was injured but cops arrested a 58-year-old woman following the incident on December 30.
She was released without charge pending further investigation.

All my things are still at his house and I did not fetch them because I kept hoping that he will one day call me and tell me that he did a mistake and he wants me to come back. It is now 9 months since I left and he hasn’t called. I passed by his house one day in my friend’s car and she was washing my curtains.
