Glamorous Paola Saulino, 27, from Italy was vehemently against constitutional reforms proposed by her country’s Prime Minister Matteo Renzi in a referendum held in November last year. She therefore came up with a bizarre incentive—she would provide intimacy to all “NO” voters.
Well, Paola Saulino’s promise must have galvanized a lot of “NO” votes because they won by a landslide and totalled over 19 million.

A Zimbabwean man who works as an office administrator at Kana Mission hospital in Gokwe South has reportedly killed himself after his wife drove their family pick-up into the house killing his mother and a visitor.
The deceased, Delani Ngwenya who reportedly committed suicide on Sunday, January 29, 2017, is said to have recently bought the vehicle and decided to teach his wife how to drive.
But his wife accidentally rammed into the family house killing her mother in law and a visitor.
According to a source who witnessed the tragic scene, he said Delani who couldn’t withstand the loss of his mother hanged himself after the wife mistakenly stepped on the accelerator instead of the brakes while he was teaching her to drive.
‘It is said that Delani recently bought a car and was teaching his wife to drive and upon reaching his home yesterday afternoon she mistakenly stepped on the accelerator instead of the the brakes thereby driving straight into the house where Delani’s mother, a visitor and his father were sitting, ‘Mrs. Ngwenya, Delani’s mother and Mrs. Chamunorwa the visitor died on the spot and Delani could not stomach the loss thus he hanged himself,’ he said.

A Kenyan wife, in a desperate bid to save her marriage and stop her husband from plunging himself into the arms of younger women, employed a quite unusual method to achieve this.
The woman, identified as Wanjiru Kamami or Shiro, published an advertisement on a Kenyan newspaper complete with her husband’s image, his phone number and his National Identification number. The translated ad above reads:
“This is to inform the general public that the person whose photograph appears above is the husband to Wanjiru Kamami (Shiro) since 1982, (sic) therefore if you see him getting lied to with school girls or young women at the market, tell him to go home or call my number 0751993571.”

Not more than 5 students at a secondary school in Zimbabwe, Chinatsa Secondary School died while 34 were hospitalized after lightning struck the school during assembly last Thursday afternoon.
According to teachers at the school, two students died on the spot while the other three died at Marondera Provincial Hospital where they had been referred to for treatment.
“We were having our usual Thursday afternoon assembly when disaster struck. No-one has any idea what really happened as all the students and teachers were fell to the ground,” a teacher at the school said.
“After the incident, we discovered that two of the students had died while some were seriously injured.
According to another teacher, the local community was shocked over the loss of life as the lightning struck when the sky was clear and there was no sign that it would rain on the day.
“Most of the students were seriously injured while others were left naked after their school uniforms were burnt.
“Electricity supplies have been affected as the power generator was also hit by the lightning bolt at the same time,” the teacher said.
NewZimbabwe reports the 2016/17 rain season has witnessed an increase in deaths due to lighting strikes. Last week, six people attending a funeral were killed at Siachilaba in Binga when lightning struck a tree they were sheltering under. Three others sustained severe burns.
A 20-year-old suspect, Blessing Emmanuel, said on Monday in Lagos that he kidnapped his boss’ son for not settling him after apprenticeship.
Chinobi Sabestine and Emmanuel were arrested by the police for allegedly abducting a 10-year-old boy.
It was reported that the suspects were apprehended in a bank in the Oyingbo area of the state as they were about withdrawing the ransom paid by the boy’s family into an account.
Emmanuel, who claimed to be a trader at the Mandilas Market, Lagos Island, claimed that he abducted the 10-year-old in the Alafia area of Orile-Iganmu, on his way to school, as a way of paying his master back for refusing to settle him after working for him for four years.
“I started staying with my Oga in 2013. He took me from my parents to stay with him so that I could learn how to sell clothes. In the agreement he had with my parents before he took me, he promised to set me up after four years.
“In 2016, he was supposed to help me start my own business; but instead, he opened another shop and asked me to be paying him N20,000 monthly.
“I could not cope because of the recession in the country, so I asked him to pay me as agreed, but he refused. Rather, he sent me back to the village.
“I came back early January and I stayed in a hotel. It was there that the idea of kidnapping his son came to me. Last week Monday, around 7am, I laid in ambush along the route where his son normally passed to school in the Alafia area of Orile.
“The boy emerged around 7.45am. He came to me when I called him and I took him away,” the suspect said.
The suspect further explained that he kept the young boy in his hotel room for four days, until he was arrested on Apapa Road.
“Throughout the four days, the boy stayed with me in my hotel room at Oyingbo. I called my Oga on the telephone the next day to pay N5m into my account if he hoped to see his son again. I sent him my account number.
“I was on my way to collect my ATM card from the bank on Apapa Road when I was arrested. I never knew that the police were on my trail,” he added.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, while briefing newsmen on the arrest, said the suspect, along with one other, kidnapped the 10-year-old boy.
He said after kidnapping their victim, the suspects demanded N5m as ransom to release the boy.

A new craze is taking Japan by storm and sees adults wrapped up like babies and swayed from side-to-side. The bizarre-looking therapy called Otonamaki is becoming popular especially with new mums.
At a recent session in Tokyo organised by a non-profit organisation dedicated to post-natal women, five tried out the new trend. Each took turns to tie each other in a large cloth from head to toe and in a cross-legged position.
They also swayed lightly from side-to-side after being laid gently on their backs in the hope of helping loosening the muscles and bones.
Some were given the option to use a colored cloth to help simulate different environments as they lay completely covered in the white cloths.

A black Nigerian mother who gave birth to a million-to-one, white, blue-eyed baby boy has stunned doctors by having a second white child.
Financial analyst Catherine Howarth, thrived the rare recessive white gene that resulted in son Jonah, three, being completely white would not strike a second time.
So she was stunned when the midwife handed her daughter Sophia and she was as white as her big brother.
The mum from Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, believes she is the only black mother in the world to have given birth to two white, blue-eyed children.
She said:
‘When Jonah was born, a genetic specialist said he was a one-in-a-million baby. He said it was extraordinary with my African background that I’d had a child with blue eyes and pale skin.
‘He calculated the possibility of it happening again was less than one in a million.
‘So when Sophia was born with white skin and blue eyes I was more than taken aback with shock. It seems the odds of it happening twice are millions-to-one. No-one has heard of a black mum having two white babies one after the other.’
While husband Richard, 37, an engineer, is completely white, the couple from Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire thought their second child would be much darker than their first.
Catherine said:
‘When I had Jonah he was so white both Richard and I thought the midwife had given us the wrong child. But if anything, having Sophia has been even more of a shock because we were sure it couldn’t happen twice.
‘I was stunned when I saw her blue eyes and light skin.’
Doctors were equally amazed when Sophia was born last March. Catherine is of Nigerian decent with no white genes in her family.
She says:
‘My parents were from Nigeria and as far back as anyone can recall my family have all been black.
‘The only explanation seems to be there must have been a white gene in my family that has remained dormant for years until now. And now it seems to be very dominant.’
Dad Richard said:
‘While it is interesting how the genes have aligned themselves, it doesn’t matter to us what colour our children’s skin is. We just feel incredibly lucky to have a beautiful son and daughter. Having healthy and happy kids is all that matters.’

A 23-year-old dental student from France won the Miss Universe crown Monday in the Philippines, local time, bringing her country its first win in the annual pageant in 64 years.
Iris Mittenaere from the city of Lille in northern France said in reply to a final question from pageant host Steve Harvey that she would be honored if she just landed among the three finalists. But she was visibly stunned when she was announced the winner among the field of 86 contestants.
Mittenaere was speechless and put her hands on her face as the outgoing winner from the Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach, crowned her as the crowd erupted in cheers and applause at the packed Mall of Asia Arena by Manila Bay.
