Court Orders Arrest of Oluwo of Iwo for Ignoring Summons over “Yahoo Yahoo” Allegations

A magistrate court in Osun state on Tuesday, issued an arrest warrant on the traditional ruler Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi.

The arrest warrant was issued due to the refusal of the monarch to honour a court summons issued in November to answer to a suit filed against him by another monarch, Oluwo of Iwo-Oke, Oba Kadiri Adeoye.

Oba Adeoye accused the Oluwo of Iwo of concealing some facts about his past before he was installed as a first class monarch about a year ago.

Channels TV reported that the monarch was also accused of keeping armed thugs around to oppress, molest and attack his antagonists. The affidavit also stated that the monarch was involved in the internet fraud commonly known as ‘Yahoo-Yahoo’ operating from inside his palace.

The plaintiff also claimed that Oba Akanbi forged his name to obtain travelling documents to the United States where he was jailed in New York City and was deported to Nigeria in 2000.

He also stated that the monarch later traveled out with his real identity to Canada in 2001 and got the Canadian citizenship but was again arrested in Toronto and was in jail between 2006 and 2007.

The monarch, Oba Akanbi, however reacted to these allegations in a 13 paragraph affidavit through the Aremo of Iwo land, Adelani Akanbi describing the application filed against the monarch by Oba Adeoye as “scandalous, vexations and designed to embarrass, blackmail and ridicule the monarch in the view of right thinking members of the society”.

The absence of the monarch in court to defend himself however made the chief magistrate to order his arrest and the case was adjourned to December 27, 2016.

Goodness Akpan, a 17-year old student has confessed that she has slept with countless men as such she did not know who amongst them actually impregnated her.

According to a report by PMExpress, she made the confession on Monday at the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja, Lagos where she was paraded along other suspected criminals by the Commissioner of police, Mr Fatai Owoseni.

Akpan said she was a student of Comprehensive Secondary School in Akwa Ibom State before she became pregnant and wanted to abort it before her sister brought her to Lagos.

She also denied that she was a sex worker and explained she was lured into the sex world and she liked it and could not control it any longer.

She said she became pregnant after sleeping with so many men and would not actually know who among them that impregnated her in their community.

Akpan said when she told one of them that slept with her and he denied, she became so confused because they were many and does not know the father of the baby.

She said when she became confused, she contacted her sister and wanted to terminate the pregnancy, she said her sister prevailed on her and brought her to Lagos.

She said she was taken to a church where she stayed and delivered the baby girl.

“If I tell you that I knew the father of the baby, I am lying because I slept with many men and they were countless before I discovered that I was pregnant,” she said.

Akpan was rescued by the police on suspicion of being a human trafficking victim after she delivered her baby in a church. There was an alleged plan to sell the baby.

The police also arrested the owner of the church, a female pastor, Pemi Udoh for her alleged role in human trafficking.

Udoh, who is the founder of Divine Yard of God Ministry, Iyana Ota area, said she did not know anything about plans to sell the baby as alleged by the police.

She said she only assisted Akpan, who was brought by her sister, Angela to the church where she delivered her baby. She said she was surprised when the police came to the church and arrested her and took her to the station where she met Akpan.

Tripled MG singer, Tekno has been disqualified from the only award category he was nominated for at the Headies 2016, which will hold tomorrow, December 22, at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to information obtained by TheNetng, the Headies jury took the decision because he failed to participate in all of the required activities leading up the event.

Official emails between the organisers and the singer’s reps confirm all nominees for the category were required to take part in promotional activities including photoshoots, interviews and more.

It was the only category Tekno was nominated in. He missed out on major nominations including ‘Artiste of the Year’.

Prophet Impregnates 16 Year Old Daughter, Gives Her Concoctions To Terminate The Pregnancy.

A 16-year-old girl is allegedly carrying a seven-month-old pregnancy for her 56 years old father, Prophet Taiwo Oluboyode, in Odode, Idanre area of Ondo State.

According to Vanguard, the suspect, who owns a white garment church and currently in police custody, allegedly informed his interrogators that he was tempted by the devil to commit the act.

However, people in the agrarian community, are of the opinion that the cleric must have carried out the act “to renew his spiritual power.”

Findings in the town showed that the cleric is popular and his church, located at Oke-Ijebu Street, Odode, Idanre, always records high traffic of miracle-seeking worshippers from far and near on a regular basis.

Sources close to the church revealed that the prophet is a specialist in bathing women in streams to ward off evil spirits and those tormented by spiritual husbands, who prevent them from getting married or having babies.

Reports had it that the prophet lives alone with his daughter after the wife left him years back. It was learned that efforts by the estranged wife to take her daughter along with her were rebuffed by the suspect, who insisted he needed her around to run errands and take care of him in the interim.

A family source hinted that the suspect had refused to remarry after the wife left and had preferred sleeping with his daughter instead. It was unclear if the victim raised any alarm over her defilement by her father, but neighbours said that the girl was always keeping to herself.

Vanguard learned that the victim stopped going to school when signs that she is pregnant was becoming evident. Her school mates, who came to the house to ask after her, were informed by the father that she had travelled to Lagos to continue her studies.

It was gathered from police source that when the victim took in and informed the suspect, he allegedly gave her some concoctions to terminate the pregnancy. The attempt, it was learned, failed.

The suspect, according to a source, contemplated smuggling the victim out of the house to a private clinic, but she refused and threatened to raise alarm. The suspect then instructed the victim to stay indoors to avoid suspicion from church members and their neighbours.

It was revealed that one of the neighbours, who saw the girl with a protruding stomach, raised the alarm. Police laid ambush and arrested the suspect when he returned home.

Detectives said that the only words uttered by the suspect was “it was temptation and the work of the devil.”

The church is presently under lock and key, while other leaders and members of the church have gone underground for fear of arrest Police detectives at Ala Police Station in Akure, confirmed that the cleric had been arrested and would soon be prosecuted.

The Federal Operations Unit, Ikeja, of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted 102 bags of plastic rice branded “Beat Tomato Rice” with no date of manufacture.

The Customs Area Controller of F.O.U. Comptroller Mohammed Haruna, on Tuesday in Lagos said that the commodity was stored for distribution as Yuletide gifts for the public.

Haruna said that officers of the unit intercepted the plastic rice along Ikeja area on Monday, adding that a suspect was arrested in connection with the seizure.

He said,

“Before now, I thought it was a rumour that the plastic rice is all over the country but with this seizure, I have been totally convinced that such rice exists.

We have done the preliminary analysis on the plastic rice. After boiling, it was sticky and only God knows what would have happened if people consumed it.
I advise those economic saboteurs who see yuletide season as a peak period for nefarious acts to desist from such illegal business.
The unit has decided other operational modalities that will make them run for their monies and count their losses.”

He described smuggling as a global phenomenon, adding that such act could not be curbed entirely but could be brought to its barest minimum.

Haruna appreciated well-meaning Nigerians who provided the service with prompt information that led to the discovery of the bags of plastic rice.

The controller, however, advised the media to educate the public on the existence of plastic rice, adding that it was no longer a rumour.

Haruna assured the public that the distribution point of the particular plastic rice seized by the unit had been blocked with immediate effect.

He said that investigation was still ongoing. The controller said the unit would handover the plastic rice to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control for proper investigation.

Just the same way I feel. They are like wow this has gone big. It came as a surprise that we are going this big, when we noticed we told ourselves we have to be serious about it so that we will not disappoint our viewers and followers. That is how we turned our hubby into something serious.

It’s no longer family-family thing but now business. Emmanuella’s family and I realized that she is a minor now though a celebrity but she is going to grow up. So we need to save for her future. Together with her parents we have put things in place for her.

On how Comedy and travelling is affecting Emmanuella’s education

It’s affecting her. Before now she was attending a public school and when the stardom started setting in we have to move her to a private school. Even at the school because she is Emmanuella they gave her preferences such that if she said she is not ready to learn they will take it from her. When I learnt about this development I went mad. One day, I took it out on the principal for allowing her to have her ways. Despite the warning they still kept doing that so I changed her school. Despite telling them why I moved her to the school some teachers still give her special attention, it’s a battle. And when we travel outside the country we always look for a teacher even before our landing in that country. And since their curriculum is quite different from our own we go extra length to break it down to her. We always tell her foreign teachers to try to synchronise Nigerian school curriculum with theirs so we can get a balance. And the good thing is that she has learnt some things her classmate has not learnt before.

Following news yesterday showing flambouyant Nigerian pastor and founder of Christ Royal Family International Church, Bishop Tom Samson who put his alleged N80 million hummer jeep limousine on display while attending a church programme, Cool FM OAP Daddy Freeze has lambasted pastors saying that controversial ponzi scheme is better than pentecostal churches in Nigeria.

A small airline abruptly canceled its flights from JFK to Guyana in South America on Saturday morning, leaving about 1,000 travelers stranded at the Queens airport.

Among those left high and dry by Dynamic International Airways was Leezel Cambridge, 27, a bride-to-be who missed her own wedding because of an unexplained snafu in the 2 a.m. flight.

Her husband had to tell their 300 guests, who were already waiting at their venue, that she wouldn’t be making it.

A pastor at the Divine Yard Deliverance Ministry in Iyana Iyesi, Ota, Ogun State, Peace Udoh, has been arrested by the police for allegedly running a baby factory in the church.

The 47-year-old was said to have sold 64 babies before she was arrested on Sunday by operatives from the Lagos State Police Command who acted on a tip-off.

Udoh was apprehended with one Angela Akpan and a nurse, Mrs. Bukola Ajala, who reportedly assisted in childbirth at Udoh’s church.

PUNCH Metro reports that the pastor usually referred complicated cases to the nurse, whose clinic – El Shaddai Hospital – is located a few metres away from the church.

Their correspondent gathered that Angela’s younger sister, 17-year-old Goodnews Akpan, recently gave birth to a child at the clinic.

Angela, who was arrested on Saturday in the Sango area, was said to have led police operatives on Sunday to Udoh’s church and Ajala’s clinic, where they were picked up respectively.

While parading the suspects on Monday at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja, the Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said detectives swooped on the syndicate after receiving intelligence report that Udoh needed a buyer for Goodnews’ baby.

“The suspects run a baby factory in the Sango Ota area. We are still working to get 64 other children she has sold out,” the CP added.

However, the pastor, who hails from Akwa Ibom State, refuted the allegation, saying she used the church as a maternity home to assist her pregnant church members for a token.

She said,

“I have been a pastor for 13 years. I only assisted my church members during childbirth. I take delivery of 13 to 15 babies every year and I have handled over 60 cases so far. I don’t sell the babies.

“Whenever I have a complicated case, I refer the patient to the nurse and we share the money she collects for the service. Angela brought her sister to me in July. She gave birth on November 16 at the nurse’s clinic and she was discharged. I was surprised when the police came to arrest me yesterday (Sunday).”

Ajala, the nurse, said she collected between N15,000 and N17,000 for each child delivery, adding that she didn’t know anything about selling of babies. The third suspect, Angela, said,

“I am from Abak in Akwa Ibom. I took my sister from our village to the pastor when her pregnancy was four months. She was there until she gave birth in November and I paid N17,000. I didn’t intend to sell her child and I have never sold any child before.”

Goodnews, a secondary school dropout, told Punch that she was not aware of the plan to sell her baby. She said she followed Angela to Lagos to avoid being ridiculed in the village.

“I got pregnant in the school but none of my boyfriends was willing to take the responsibility for the pregnancy. “My mother would not allow me stay with her so I decided to follow my sister to Lagos,” she added.
