At least 50 people have been killed after a church building collapsed in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State in southern Nigeria.
The Governor of the State, Mr Udom Emmanuel, who was attending the service at the Reighers Bible Church narrowly escaped death.

Gambia’s president, Yahya Jammeh has rejected the results of the just concluded election that put a stop to his 22-year rule.
This comes a week after the 59-year-old conceded to his rival, Adama Barrow on state television.
“After a thorough investigation, I have decided to reject the outcome of the recent election. I lament serious and unacceptable abnormalities which have reportedly transpired during the electoral process.
I recommend fresh and transparent elections which will be officiated by a god-fearing and independent electoral commission,” Jammeh was quoted as saying.
According to Al Jazeera:
Soldiers were seen placing sandbags in strategic locations across the capital Banjul on Friday, a development that triggered widespread unease among the already-spooked population, who had been panic-buying food before the vote due to fear of unrest.
Witnesses told the Reuters news agency that Banjul was quiet overnight, and that there was particular nervousness about the president’s statement that he would deal harshly with any troublemakers who took to the streets.
Senegal’s foreign minister, Mankeur Ndiaye, has also called for an emergency UN Security Council meeting, and “solemnly” warned Jammeh not to harm Senegal’s interests or its citizens in Gambia.
The U.S has also said that the rejection was Jammeh’s “egregious attempt to undermine a credible election and remain legitimately in power”.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, on Friday refuted media reports quoting him as saying that the Federal Government was not anticipating the victory of the Super Falcons.
The Super Falcons won the just concluded African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) when they defeated hosts Cameroon by 1–0 at the final of the football competition.
Dalung, who spoke to State House correspondents on Thursday, said the Federal Government did not expect the Super Falcons to win the football tournament.
The minister, however, said he was quoted out of context, saying that contrary to the media reports, the government prepared for the victory of the team.
Dalung made the clarification at the presentation and unveiling of the Youth Unity Cup Championship Trophy to President Muhammadu Buhari.
“May I conclude also by trying to put in proper perspective an impression that has made national headlines in recent time to the effect that the Federal Government was not anticipating a win in the victory of the Super Falcons.
This statement is attributed to my own very self. I want to categorically state that is a statement taken out of context and I cannot image or reconcile how it occurred.
The commitment of the federal government to the support of the Falcons is indeed overwhelming, that explained why the Vice-President himself had to abandon his tight schedule to visit the players in camp before they proceeded to Cameroon.
That is evidence of preparation for victory,” Dalung said.
The minister sought for presidential intervention to enable his ministry pay all outstanding entitlements of the Super Falcons, their coaches and others.

Ghana’s main opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo won the country’s national election, defeating President John Mahama, electoral commissioner Charlotte Osei said.
Crowds of jubilant supporters gathered outside the house of the 72-year-old New Patriotic Party (NPP) leader, who had already claimed victory on Thursday, a day after the voting took place.
Akufo-Addo defeated President Mahama by 53.8 percent to 44.4 percent, Osei said.
“It is my duty and my privilege to declare Nana Akufo-Addo as the president elect of Ghana,” she told a news conference in the capital, Accra, on Friday.
Prior to Osei’s announcement, Akufo-Addo said on Twitter that Mahama called him “congratulating me on winning the 2016 presidential election”.
“I make this solemn pledge to you tonight: I will not let you down. I will do all in my power to live up to your hopes and expectations,” Akufo-Addo told supporters in front of his residence.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, Akufo-Addo explained what he believed to be the hopes and expectations of Ghanians: “The expectations they have of me, that I’m gonna bring them a new government, a new style; a government of honesty, a government that is concerned about the welfare of our people – that basic commitment is the one I am determined to fulfill.”

Police authorities in Abuja, yesterday, smashed a syndicate that specialised in robbing bank customers by swindling them of their, ATM, cards and pins, with the leader saying they got their ‘business’ idea from reading newspapers.
The suspects are specialists in in stealing ATM cards and its pin from bank customers who may be having difficulty in operating ATM machines.
The suspects were identified as David Wuese, Chika Okenyi, Omotayo Bamidele and Akura Godwin.
It was gathered that the suspects were nabbed following complaints from members of the public who had been dispossessed of their ATM cards from across the country.
Following the complaints, the IGP was said to have detailed the head of the IRT team, Abba Kyari, to investigate and round up the suspects.
Armed with the IGP’s directive, the team trailed the gang to their hideouts in Enugu, Benue and Nassarawa states from where they were arrested.
The leader of the syndicate Wuese, 27, disclosed that the syndicate was formed in Markurdi, Benue State and that they lunched their activities across several states in the country.
Wuese said,
“We read about something similar to our operation in the newspapers, but modified it. Some of the ATM cards found in our possession were all invalid and that was what we were using to steal from our victims.
We don’t operate in one state. After stealing a card, we will check the balance and if the money is below N20,000, we don’t touch it. But if the amount in the account is huge, we withdraw money by phones, which we would resell at cheaper prices.
Sometimes, we take the ATMs to night clubs and hotels where we pay with cards. In our last operation, we bought three Samsung Galaxy Edge for N245,000 each and we sold them for N215,000.
We also bought three Blackberry Passport for N130,000 each and sold them for N90,000. We also got two Infinix phones for N82,000 and it was sold for N60,000.
“I can’t recall the number of operations we have carried out, but we normally share all the money we have made equally.
“I have bought a Toyota Camry with my own share of our loot. I don’t know what my friends have done with their own share.”

The Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Olusola Amore, on Thursday in Ilorin, told news correspondents that a suspect identified Salisu Imam, has blamed unemployment for his involvement in cult-related activities.
While making his cofession to reporters, the suspect stated that he was lured into cultism by one of his unnamed friends, who, he said, told him that membership of a cult would guarantee him daily meals, adding that he fell for the bait because he had no job and was always hungry.
He said, “I was jobless and so hungry. One of my friends told me to join the Aiye cult group, that once I am a member, my daily meals are guaranteed. These friends have been taking care of me before they introduced me to cultism and I was left with no option but to play along with them.”
The police boss said following the aftermath of cult killings that took place in Ilorin metropolis and the determination of the command to arrest the culprits, three suspects, Ibrahim Imam, Salisudeen Imam and Saheed Mubaraq were nabbed.
He stated that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to being members of Eiye and Aiye confraternities, adding that they also confessed to have been involved in series of attacks that took place in Ilorin, adding that three live cartridges and charms were recovered from the suspects.

UK-based Nigerian pastor Pastor Olugbenga Oladejo warns married couples against unholy sexual acts in this viral video.
The head pastor of Complete in Christ Church (CICC), claimed he saw people being punished in hell for immoral and unholy sexual acts that include Oral Sex, masturbation, acts of bondage and positions like ‘doggy’ and ‘cowgirl’.
Here are some excerpts of the video transcript, where he shared the revelations –
“The Lord told Pastor Oladejo that His children are confused, so they must be warned about these sins that are taking them to hell, so they will not perish. He visually showed him these people’s sins on the “judgment screen” and audibly warned against married couples masturbating on their beds, looking at pornography, oral sex, trying different styles of sexual intercourse to “spice it up,” such as “doggie style” penetration from behind, and various positions, including the wife on top (e.g., so-called “rocking horse,” “cowboy,” or “cowgirl” positions), and hanging your wife (a type of domination and bondage position, involving tying her down, intended to simulate rape). He said the only position that is holy in God’s sight is the face-to-face position with the husband on top.”
On Missionary as the Only Holy Position
It is well known what the “missionary position” is and why it is called that, for the reason this pastor explained.
Missionaries of old who taught their converts about true holiness would teach them that in the marriage bed, face to face with the husband on top is the only position that God has sanctioned.
That is a landmarker or boundary stone that was laid by people before this evil generation was born that you and I who live today are a part of. That was a boundary stone. We have moved that stone, so we could try new things to fulfill our lusts.”

“For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” (Rom 8:5-cool

Hanging Your Spouse
In the videos, he mentioned “hanging” your spouse during sexual intercourse (see Video 1 at 13:33 – 13:36 and Video 2 at 11:12). He clarified this for me by stating that he meant couples who engage in extreme sexual positions by using sex equipment to make their wives helpless, such as tying them to a bed, so it looks like the wife is being raped. He said, “Some Christians do extreme sexual positions seen in the pornography and buy equipment to make them look like their wives are helpless or being hanged [or] raped when they have relationships. Such things are great wickedness before the Lord.”
Masturbating
He also clarified that when he warns against masturbation, it is not only something you do to yourself. It includes masturbating one’s spouse to arousal or orgasm. This is consistent with the dictionary definition. He stated, “Do not use your hand to stimulate anyone to orgasm. It is masturbation done on you by your partner rather than yourself.” He warned, “Manual stimulation is masturbation. It is a sin.”
In fact, the word masturbate comes from two root words that mean “hand” and “defile”.
“Touching your wife lovingly is not a sin, but it becomes a sin when she feels like you are masturbating her. Our hands are not meant for such an act. If your wife touches you such that you release without penetration, that is a great sin, so we need to be careful…I want to be very clear that when I refer to ‘touching your wife lovingly,’ it is not masturbating her for arousal. I do not say a man should do that. The Lord told me He detests all forms of masturbation.”
Personal Lubricant
Lastly, in response to my inquiry, he said, “[Personal] lubricant and condoms were never shown to me as sin at all.” However, the Lord also did not say to Pr. Olugbenga that using condoms is not a sin. If you have questions, you should seek the face of the Lord Jesus Christ on that.

According to Punch, the couple has been making moves to reunite after a stormy breakup that generated so much noise in the mass media a couple of months ago.
It has also been reported that Tiwa and her husband had been attending a counselling clinic somewhere in Lagos. Fans of the couple will be hoping that more evidence of their alleged settlement be made public because it will come as good news.
It was also reported that the couple have been seeing each other and even attended an event together on one occasion.
The details concerning this video have remained fuzzy but popular rumours have it that the man in the video is a company executive based in the capital of Nigeria, Abuja who out of ecstasy and hysteria filmed himself romancing a younger lover in the comfort of his office.
In the short video clip, the elderly man could be seen locking his lips tightly with the younger lady in a ‘french-kiss’ fashion.
Both parties who were obviously aroused in the racy scene caressed each other lightly and muttered romantic words to each other.
As the video played towards the end, the man on glasses and a native dressed fondled the woman’s boobs as she appeared ready for the ‘other room’
The rational behind the video and its emergence on social media is currently unknown. Social media users have heaped criticisms on the man as they find the act unbecoming of an adult and a supposed father of grown ups.

Prophet Samuel Kayode Abiara, the General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), and Founder of CAC Agbala Itura has advised men of God not to hide under the pretence of working for God to deny their wives the care and love.
Abiara said this in response to a letter written by a woman who has been denied s*x by her husband who is a minister of God. While preaching at the ongoing RCCG 2016 Holy Ghost Congress tagged; “Complete Restoration” holding at the Redemption Ground, Km. 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, he said when a man of God refuses to touch his wife (have sex with her), it does not make him holy.
In the letter, the woman complained that she has been married for 11 years with the husband, but he he prefers to go to the mountains instead of satisfy her sexual cravings.
In his reaction, Prophet Abiara said, “your refusal to touch your wife does not make you holy. As old as my late wife was, we romanced regularly before she died.
Don’t hide under the pretence of working for God and neglect your wives because God loves women and He is behind them because it was through them Jesus Christ came to the world.
The man of God also kicked against divorce, saying that it is not biblical, adding that no man should marry more than one wife.
“I married my wife in 1965 and since then we never fought or involved third party in our marriage, rather our love continued to wax stronger. I love my wife even even after her demise. The General Overseer of RCCG and his wife is a good example for families to emulate,” he said.
He further warned that parents should not allow divorce, saying that it affects the children in return. He also warned parents to always allow their children to marry whoever they love.

I am from a very religious home, my mum believes in pastors and d word of God a lot, any program in church, we will be forced to go, some years back, I had some setbacks so my mum advised…
She was asked to visit a man of God over my problem, getting to d pastor’s place, he prayed and said God revealed somethings to me, that I would have to be coming to his place for prayers which my mum agreed…
I started d prayer sessions until this day that he said I would have to do a chest to chest prayer that since I don’t have my boyfriend around that he would help me and I agreed… He lured me to bed even asked my mum to be paying tithes in his church which my mum did for a while till I discouraged her.
The second one that took place was after d journey with the first pastor, someone told her about another pastor In Ikorodu and since I stay in ikorodu, my mum asked us to give it a try, we went, he started like a true man of God that I started calling him Daddy, Daddy of which he was in his mid 30s then. Until he started exhorting money frm my parents.
He asked my dad to give him his salary for 3months, my dad handed it to him…
