A bus driver, Akorede Ogunjobi, and his conductor, Kazeem Adelere, were attacked by an angry mob for allegedly abducting eight pupils of Oyes Faithful College, Ifo.
The suspects would have been lynched, but for the intervention of policemen from the state command who took them into custody.
PUNCH Metro learnt that 10 pupils of the school had on Tuesday joined the commercial bus marked, AKD-948-XJ Lagos, at the Techno bus stop after leaving the school. It was learnt that two unidentified men sat beside the driver, while the conductor manned the bus entrance.
After two of the pupils alighted at their designated bus stop, the driver was alleged to have refused to stop for other pupils.
When the pupils indicated that they wanted to alight at the bus stop, the driver was alleged to have shunned their calls and continued speeding on the expressway.
The conductor was alleged to have stood at the bus entrance to prevent the pupils from escaping.
One of the pupils in Senior Secondary School 1, Akorede Aliu, 13, jumped off the bus while on motion.
Some minutes later, another male Junior Secondary School 1 pupil, Ajibose Fawasi, 11, was said to have also leaped out of the bus, leaving behind six female pupils.
A motorist was reported to have blocked the commercial vehicle’s path and forced it to a halt.A lawyer, Isaac Durowoju, told PUNCH Metro he called the police to rescue the suspects from the mob, adding that injured pupils had been taken to the hospital.
He said, “After two of the pupils alighted at Iya Abiodun bus stop, other pupils observed that the driver took to the fast lane and started speeding.
“When they told the driver and the conductor where they would alight, the two men laughed at them. While on motion, two boys jumped out at different intervals, but the driver refused to stop. This was what aroused the curiosity of a motorist, who blocked him three bus stops from where he should have stopped.”
It was learnt that the two unidentified passengers, escaped from the scene while the suspects were being mobbed.
The driver and the conductor denied abducting the pupils at the police station.
A source said when queried on why they refused to pull over after the two pupils jumped out of the vehicle, they reportedly pleaded for mercy.
Prostitution has been labelled as one of the “oldest professions” in the world due to its ability to have spanned centuries and various generations.
Curiously, though labelled as a profession it literally does not need any form of skills or capital to start with. All it usually takes is a decision and determination to engage in it, and perhaps an introduction to a group of prostitutes.
So why do women go into prostitution? Last week we presented to you the reasons why men keep patronizing prostitutes and today, we present the top reasons women go into prostitution.
1. Poverty
The adage the devil finds work for the poor clearly shows this. Poverty is the reason about 99% of prostitutes would give as what drove them into the profession.
Young ladies whose parents are incapable of taking care of them and their siblings, tend to go into prostitution so as to make ends meet and take care of their families.
It was a joyous moment as the conjoined twins who were successfully separated at the Kenyatta National Hospital on November 2, 2016, finally got to see each other face-to-face for the first time since the delicate surgery.
It would be recalled that a team of 50 Kenyan doctors successfully separated the twins; Favour and Blessing, whose lower backs were fused, in a 23-hour surgery.
The twins have been recuperating in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.

Police are investigating after horrifying footage showed a mother cruelly beating her tiny baby across the head. The mother, named as Aygul Kozhabaevna, was reportedly filmed by an unnamed eight-year-old girl who witnessed the brutal act.
It has been alleged that the woman was ‘teaching her child a lesson’ because the baby refused to stop crying. The footage originated in Kazakhstan, in the city of Almaty.
The woman doing the beating is reportedly a migrant worker from neighbouring Uzbekistan who had travelled to Almaty with her family looking for a better future.
The mother was staying with a friend and it was the friend’s daughter who allegedly filmed the video. Police are now said to be hunting for the woman as their investigation continues.
In the footage, the woman speaks to the child in a low voice, but then slaps the baby hard across the face multiple times.
Despite making headlines for his partying with women, Olympic legend Usain Bolt says he is not a womaniser.
“The British press is always trying to make me out to be this bad guy who loves women and how all I do is women and stuff. You can’t judge different culture by your own culture. In England when you get famous the first thing you do is get married and have kids. In Jamaica it’s different, like my parents had me; and they got married 11 years later,”
The record-breaking runner who is currently dating Kasi Bennett, doesn’t appear as though he’ll be settling down anytime soon. He said
“In Jamaica, we wine on each other. It’s our culture. People see it the first time; they’re like, what is going on? It’s like they’re having sex in the club! No, that’s just the culture. It’s how we are,”
Nigerian national Chijioke Stephen Obioha is set to be executed in Singapore on November 18, Amnesty International reported on Thursday.
Mr. Obioha was sentenced to death on December 30, 2008 after being arrested on April 9, 2007 for the possession of cannabis. He was found with over 2.6 kilograms of cannabis, an offense which, under Singapore law, mandates the death penalty.
Mr. Obioha appealed his sentence in August 2010, maintaining his innocence, but the court refused to commute his death penalty down to a prison sentence. According to Amnesty International, in Singapore, the burden of proof lies on the defendant rather than the prosecutor. The human rights organization explained that this is a violation of the right to a fair trial.
He has since filed an appeal to clemency. Amnesty International is urging human rights activists to petition the Singapore government to grant Mr. Obioha clemency.

The police said all the suspects made confessional statements revealing that they had successfully carried out several high profile kidnappings and two AK47 rifles loaded with live ammunition were recovered from them while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang and extend investigation to their other criminal enterprise.

Willem Oosthuizen and Theo Martins Jackson forced the black man into a coffin (Photo:Reuters)
Two white South African men appeared in court on Wednesday on charges of assault and kidnapping after a video showed them forcing a wailing black man into a coffin.
The 20-second video, which was widely circulated on social media, shows Victor Rethabile cowering inside a coffin as one man pushes a lid on his head and the other threatens to put petrol and a snake inside the casket.
Rethabile escaped, although it is not clear how. He told reporters outside court he wanted justice.
“They were accusing me of trespassing. They beat me up and forced me into the coffin,” he said.

The case has caused outrage in a country where deep racial divides persist 22 years after the fall of apartheid.
The two accused, Willem Oosthuizen and Theo Martins Jackson, appeared briefly in the Middelburg Magistrate court east of the capital Pretoria before the case was postponed until January 25. The men will remain in custody until the case resumes.
The radical left-wing Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party, which campaigns for a more even distribution of wealth between white and black South Africans, led a rally outside the court.
“This humiliation can be based on nothing else but his blackness, which means it is in actual fact a humiliation of black people as a whole,” the EFF said in a statement.

Black people make up 80 percent of South Africa’s 54 million population yet most of the economy remains in the hands of white people, who account for about 8 percent of the population.
A young lady simply identified as Akosua has told of a horrific experience she had recently.
The woman revealed that she was served a p*nis- like meat in her food which she bought from a food joint at Pokuase in Accra, Ghana.
According to 3News, the lady, on Tuesday, November 15, said she went to buy food at the shop in Pokuase only for her to discover a male genital-looking meat in her food after almost finishing the meal.
‘I had gone to get some food from the food joint because I was hungry and my preferred choice was Tuo Zaafi which I bought and took home to eat, I had eaten all the other meat in the soup and was about finishing off with the biggest piece when I noticed the funny looking meat which looked like a male genital organ.’
She also stated that she alerted her family about the strange meal she ate and they all laughed about it saying they will feed it to the dog before her sister insisted that an investigation should be put in place either by reporting it to the police or the laboratory.
But they later gave up in their quest to investigate the strange incident leaving the meat in their fridge.
‘My sister opted to show it to a lab technician friend later, who said because the meat was cooked, an ordinary lab test wouldn’t be able to prove it to be animal or human. He advised a forensic test be done on it but considering the bureaucratic processes these things go through, we gave up and the meat lies in our fridge’.
On this post we are going to discuss some of the mistakes you should avoid as a passenger when boarding a taxicab.
Avoiding these mistakes would safe you some troubles that could cost something valuable and in some cases life if care is not taken.
It’s true that we all need a taxicab at some point to move from one location to another as we journey and move around during the course of our activities and engagements either as foreigner in city or citizen just commuting to another location.
In other to experience seamless transit, it’s important to be cognizant of these mistakes and try avoiding them when you are in taxi for a ride.
1. Taking a Ride With Car-Windows Open
Some passengers don’t care much about open window and would jump in with both feet at any taxi available to them, so long as it takes them to destination. But in today’s modern age you deserved more than just a ride.
Not only would a completely closed window gives you a pleasant purring sound as car get into motion but also do the following;
Shut out unpleasant air and dust from finding its way into the car which is unhealthy for you.
Mitigate theft and keep criminals & hoodlum from having leeway and free access to snatching your gadget or belongings away through the window especially when in heavy traffic and dangerous areas.
Keep desperate hawkers away from flashing and dangling their products right into your face when in traffic which could be very annoying particularly if you are not very interested in their product.
A completely closed window give you a slight advantage at some check point for easy pass especially if the car gleams, as officers at times believe with experience that such vehicle won’t ply the road without satisfying all requirements. This obviously safe your travel time and increases your chances of arriving destination as early as possible.
Boarding a cab with a working Air Conditioning system will give you all of these benefits as window won’t have to be wind-down for inflow of air.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has confirmed ongoing surveillance on the MMM investment scheme.
EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, gave this indication in an interview with DAILY POST on the sidelines of a training programme in Port Harcourt.
Uwujaren, however, said the House of Representatives cannot direct the EFCC to investigate what he described as faceless wonder bank like MMM.
He said the anti-graft agency was also watching other online schemes that promise huge returns on investments.
The EFCC spokesman said preliminary investigations have shown that such online schemes thrive in countries that are facing economic recession.
He warned that there was big chance of desperate subscribers on such platforms of losing their investments.
“We can only arrest people based on the evidence that we have. The House made a resolution but the resolution is a public announcement.
“We have always been advising people not to patronize wonder banks because experience over time has shown that their activities are not sustainable.
“If you get involved in it, you will eventually get hurt. What we are currently doing is to sensitize people. We know people want to make quick money as a result of recession through this MMM.
“The unfortunate thing about this MMM is that it is not a Nigerian firm but we are looking at and we will still tell the media whatever we find out,” Uwujaren said.
Prophet Ola Bakare of Jesus the Solution Ministry located at Ajangbadi, Lagos, is currently on the run after a 27-year-old woman vomited and died, drinking a concoction he allegedly gave her.
The elder brother of the deceased, Chinoso Izuka, said that his younger sibling, Maryjane Chinwendu Izuka, complained of a stomach upset and died on Saturday, November 12, after drinking the concoction the pastor gave her. This was after a vigil Maryjane attended in the company of her sister on Friday.
In an exclusive to LIB, Chinoso narrated the events that led to his sister’s unfortunate death.
“My immediate younger sister stays at Ajangbadi area, so my other younger sister who stays with me at Orile decided to go and pay her a visit at her place. On getting there my immediate younger sister told her that she wanted to go to Night vigil. They went to the Night vigil and after the Night vigil they went to the pastor for consultation where she (my immediate younger sister) complained to the pastor that she was having stomach upset. The pastor prayed for her and gave her a concoction to drink, that when she drinks it the stomach upset will go. After she finished drinking it, she started vomiting in the presence of that pastor and my other sister. At first, they were thinking it was a reaction. So that my other sister took her home thinking that she will get better, I was surprised at about 9 o’clock, I was called that she was losing strength and couldn’t talk, so my little sister carried her on the back to rush her to the nearest hospital, before they could get to the hospital she gave up. What am telling you as we speak happened in the late hours of Saturday, November 12 – Sunday, November 13th morning”
Pastor Bakare visited the hospital after the incident but has since disappeared and not been seen by anyone.
The matter has been reported at the Police station in Ajangbadi.
You have to seriously take note of this guys. Intelligence is on every woman’s (well most women) list when they are being asked what they like about a guy because to them smart is the new sexy.
Being good with you diction is also a booster , ladies like it when a guy is articulate
But try not to get it all mixed up, being intelligent isn’t just about you going to school but being able to know something about everything , be that guy who can challenge her intellectually, and tackle her in a friendly debate. But you must not over do this as it makes you look arrogant or a know it all.
Having a great sense of humour is one of the quickest ways to get a girlfriend. Life is serious enough as it is. No wonder women value the lightness and playfulness that a partner with a sense of humour brings to their lives. But then this has to be in moderation because too must humour makes you look like a joke and she’ll end up not taking anything you say serious.
Do not be scared to tell her the bad things about you
Don’t you think it’ll be suspicious if all you say when you are talking about yourself are only the good things you can do, or the good things you have done?
Let your word be your bond
Always say what you mean and mean what you say. There might be no better test of your trustworthiness than this.
Don’t say bad things about your friend
I mean, how is anyone supposed to trust you when you say terrible things about your own friends behind their back?
Don’t get defensive when she asks awkward questions
No matter how awkward the situation and the resultant questions she fires at you, you must realize that all she wants is reassurance and the best way to grant her that is to answer the questions as coolly and as honestly as possible.
Getting defensive will only raise her suspicion, generate more questions in her mind and decrease her trust in you
Yoruba veteran actor, Adebayo Salami, popularly called Oga Bello, has talked about reasons why he has 18 children.
In an interview with Olushola Ricketts, the actor who has been acting for 52 years, talked about on his reaction to his son Femi Adebayo’s marriage.
Read excerpts below:
Image: Playground.ng
You have 18 children; will you encourage the younger ones to have such figure?
I will not. The fact that I have many children is by destiny, because I did not plan for it. It happened when stardom came and there was nothing I could do.
Female fans were all over me and one way or the other, they wanted to attach themselves to me. I was just doing it. Now, I believe it is my destiny, because God gave me all I needed to use to train them. But not everyone would have the grace or opportunity like Bello.
So, I will not advise anyone to have many children. Apart from the present harsh situation of the economy, I will not even advise anyone to marry two wives. If I had my way, I would have loved to have a smaller family. But it is my destiny, like I said earlier. Why has it become extremely hard for celebrities to stay in marriage? It is possible that the couples are incompatible, when you look at things well.
If two actors get married, it is always hard. As an actor, female fans always love to be around the husband, but most women cannot tolerate that for too long. If the celebrity wife cannot control herself too, she could go astray.
For me, I will not encourage two celebrities to get married. It is preferable when they are doing different things.
How did you react when your son, Femi, told you about getting married a second time?
We have been looking forward to that. When his first wife left eight years ago, he did not want to marry anymore. But at his age, it is not good for him to be alone for the rest of his life. I really was disturbed.
We kept on searching, hoping he gives marriage another chance, until he brought his new wife to us. I am happy he eventually did.
Your children are already living your legacies; how does this make you feel? I thank God because such grace is uncommon.
Coming into acting, I did not think that any of my children would take after me, not to talk of it happening while I am still alive.
Why don’t you feature in English movies?
They do not invite me and I cannot lobby for it. Maybe they feel that my spoken English is not up to standard; I do not know honestly. But the fact is that I would give Yoruba movie more priority than English movies, because I like to promote my culture. My culture is who I am and where I belong to.
But anytime I get invitations, I am ready. For me, acting is acting; the only difference is the medium of expression.
If they invite me, I would surprise them. I have done more than eight English movies in the past.
Nigerian music icon, Femi Kuti, son of music legend, Fela Kuti, has reacted to the statement made by Nobel Laurette, Wole Soyinka, that he’ll tear his green card should president-elect, Donald Trump, win the just concluded US elections.
When the music mogul was asked for his opinion concerning Soyinka’s ‘Green Card tearing ceremony’ in an interview with TheNetNg, he said:
“He should quickly tear it. My question is why does he have a green card in the first place? Africa is so beautiful, look at our landscape; there is so much to see in Africa.”
The Afrobeat legend added that he wondered why most Nigerians took the American elections so personal, as he felt the outcome doesn’t really affect him or any average Nigerian.
The authorities of Osun state University UNIOSUN, has given reasons why a former lecturer of the institution, Dr. Olabode Ojoniyi, who was involved in a sex video scandal was sacked.
Fielding questions from newsmen during an interactive session in Osogbo yesterday, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Labode Poopola stated that the randy lecturer was disengaged from the institution to send warning signal to others who are also in the act or may want to involve themselves in such act in the future.
He expressed disappointment that a lecturer who is supposed to be a parent or guardian to the students could engage in such ‘immoral’ act.
He said, “We have to nip the scandal in the bud. Whatever has happened in UNIOSUN happens in any profession. Just that it is worse if it happens here (UNIOSUN). Because a lecturer is supposed to be a parent. It is worse, it is an immoral act and should be condemned.
“The system has laid down methods of dealing with any one that engages in such. There are disciplinary measures, no lecturer will have infractions on our values and won’t be disciplined.
“If you followed the story, you will realise that this university is a product of law and non of its statues can be stampeded. When we find someone defaulting, the university takes all necessary steps.
“On this matter, the university took all the steps at all levels – Departmental, Faculty, Senate. Whatever you might read lately is the decision of the council. I am not in a position to say what next will be done.”
When asked whether Ojoniyi’s doctorate degree could be withdrawn, he said, “Degrees are earned and worked for. UNIOSUN can’t strip him of his degree but wherever he got it from. Degrees are issued on learning and character.”
He, however, called on media practitioners and stakeholders in Osun State to support the vision of making the university a 21st century one.
He assured the students and parents that crisis would no longer affect the operation and activities of the university.
He added, “Teaching, learning and community service never stopped at any time despite the crisis. The crisis might have affected morale and confidence of some but it has not stopped us from working.
“All the stakeholders have agreed to put the challenges behind us and move forward. We enjoin everyone, including the media to join us.”
Nollywood star, Oge Okoye has denied breast and buttock surgery. She, however, admitted adding weight.
Speaking with Encomium.ng on Monday, November 14, 2016, the beautiful actress swiftly debunked the tale insisting there’s no truth in it.
“That’s not true at all. Why will I choose to go for butts or breast implant? Although, I have added weight which I also noticed, I didn’t undergo any surgery. Each time I notice I am getting fatter, I always go to the gym. And actually, that’s what I am doing at the moment. I am not at all that comfortable getting fatter, I just have to shed some weight.”
