Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested a 47-year-old man, who attempted to export 270 grammes of cocaine to Madagascar.
The suspect, Odili Onyekwere, was nabbed at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, during the outward screening of passengers on a Kenyan Airways flight to Ivato International Airport, Antananarivo, Madagascar.
The NDLEA Commander at the Lagos Airport, Ahmadu Garba, said:
s“This is the first arrest and seizure in the year of a passenger heading to Madagascar from this airport. The suspect, Odili Onyekwere, successfully excreted 25 wraps of cocaine, which he ingested, while under close observation.
“He is cooperating with our team of investigators and the case will soon be charged to court.”
During interrogation, the Rivers State-born suspect said he went into drug trafficking out of frustration. The father of two, who trades in foot wear in Lome, Togo, said:
s“I am married with two children and I sell shoes in Lome, Togo. As a result of the economic downturn, my capital kept depreciating until I lost everything. It was the frustration of not being able to provide for my wife and two children that made me go into smuggling of cocaine.
It is my first time. They promised to pay me $1,000, which is over N400,000, going by the present exchange rate.”
Commenting on the arrest, the Chairman/Chief Executive of the agency, Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah, said with the use of latest technology in drug control, the agency would continue to disappoint those hoping to get rich quick from drug trafficking.
Police Apprehends Suspected Kidnappers Of CBN Gov, Emefiele’s Wife.
Six suspected members of the kidnapper gang that abducted the wife of the Central Bank Governor, Margaret Emefiele, last Thursday have reportedly been arrested.
The suspects were arrested at their hideout in Edo State over the weekend, and are being held at the state command headquarters, Benin.
Sources told Punch on Monday that the suspects were apprehended by the operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Monitoring and Intelligence Team, led by CSP Abba Kyari.
The brave and gallant police officer Abba Kyari led the operation to rescue the abducted school girls in Lagos. He also led the team that rescued the mother of the former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, who was abducted in Delta State in 2012 and the arrest of notorious South West armed robber, ‘Godogodo.’
This brings to seven the number of suspects arrested in connection with Mrs.Emefiele’s abduction, which occurred along the Benin-Agbor Road.
The gang had demanded N100m ransom, but they were forced to release their victims following pressures from the police, army and Department of State Services.
It could not be confirmed if any ransom was paid, but the hostages were released early Saturday morning, while the security agencies arrested one suspect shortly afterwards.

Gunmen Storm Nigerian Police Station | Kill All Four Men On Duty.
An overnight attack by some gunmen on a police post in central Benue State has left at least four police officers who were on duty, dead.
Witnesses told PREMIUM TIMES the yet-to-be-identified gunmen stormed the police divisional headquarters in Igumale, the headquarters of Ado Local Government Area, shortly after midnight on October 2, killing all the four officers on duty.
The attackers also carted away the guns and ammunition of the officers.
Ajibo Ochulayi, a community leader in the agrarian town, told the publication that while two officers died on the spot, two others later passed on in a medical centre in Makurdi, the state capital.
s“It is sad that the gunmen were able to overpower the policemen and killed all the four of them with little resistance,” Mr. Ochulayi said.
He said the state’s police commissioner, Bashir Makama, visited the scene on Sunday afternoon with a few mobile police officers to assess the aftermath.
Police have only launched a manhunt for the assailants, and no one has been identified on the motive of the attack. The publication also added that their efforts to reach the police spokespersons for the latest on the attack were unsuccessful.

FULL Details Of How Kim Kardashian Was Robbed | Says She Feared Rape.
Following the news of the reality TV star being robbed of about $16million in an hotel apartment in France, full details of how the robbery went down has reached TMZ, as sources say Kim Kardashian was ordered out of bed by masked men she initially thought were going to rape her.
Kim was lying in bed with only her robe on when she heard boots pounding up the stairs of her 2 story apartment.
We’re told Kim saw at least one masked man and another wearing a police hat through a sliding glass door. She knew something was amiss, so she rolled off the bed and tried dialing her bodyguard on her cell phone.
Before she could finish dialing one of the men yanked the phone out of her hands. They zip tied her hands with plastic handcuffs and duct taped her to make it more secure. We’re told one of the men grabbed her by the ankles … Kim told cops at that point she believed she was about to be raped.
The robbers duct taped her ankles, picked her up and put her in the bathtub. She then started screaming … begging them not to kill her because she had babies. She went on to say she had money and they could take whatever they wanted.
Kim told cops the robbers did not know English and only spoke French. The only thing she understood … the men kept saying, “ring, ring.” Kim knew what they were after — the new ring she got from Kanye. She told them where it was in the apartment, but that was not the end.
Kim continued to beg and cry, and at that point the robbers duct taped her mouth shut.
We’re told a friend of Kim’s — Simone — was also in the apartment … sleeping in the downstairs bedroom. Simone heard the commotion and locked herself in the bathroom and called Pascal, the bodyguard, and Kourtney … telling them to hurry back because something was terribly wrong.
Pascal got back to the apartment 2 minutes after the robbers left.
The entire incident took around 6 minutes.

A Pakistani man has admitted the murdering of his younger sister in an ‘honour killing’ because she married a Christian man.
Mubeen Rajhu, 24, from Lahore, shot Tasleem, 18, in the head at home in August after he discovered his Muslim sister had defied the family and married a Christian.
He had been taunted by co-workers who had seen Tasleem in their neighbourhood with the man. Rajhu, who is from a poor neighbourhood on the northern edge of Lahore, is being held by police.
He said he had demanded that his sister swear on the Quran that she would never marry the man.
He said:
‘I told her I would have no face to show at the mill, to show to my neighbors, so don’t do it. Don’t do it. But she wouldn’t listen.
‘I could not let it go. It was all I could think about. I had to kill her. There was no choice. There was no yelling, no shouting. I just shot her dead.’
Ali Raza, a co-worker at the mill, said the taunting of Rajhu about his sister had gone on for months.
He said:
‘He used to tell us, “If you don’t stop, I will kill myself. Stop!” The guys here told him, “It would be better to kill your sister”.’
Raza said Rajhu told them he had bought a pistol and one day in August stopped coming to work. However, Tasleem’s father Mohammed Naseer Rajhu puts the blame on his daughter.

My marriage to my wife is facing a serious challenge, after I discovered from my wife’s WAEC certificate, that the date of her birth on the result is 6 years more than what she told me and what has been in all her non academic documents, including her C.V. Actually, i have seen all her academic certificates, including her NYSC discharge certificate, but never saw her S.S.C.E and FSLC results that normally bear dates of birth. Each time i ask her for them in order to compile all the credentials for job application purposes, she would tell me that her WAEC, NECO and primary school results are in a box, with her mum in thier home town; that she would ask her mum to bring them. I gnomo her mum lager came with them for her.
Eventually, a serious sure job came for which i would need these credentials to forward to the organization. She gave me the WAEC result with the excuse that age forgot the NECO and FSLC in her current office, which she promised to bring. Lol and behold! What i saw on the WAEC result is a date of birth 6 years higher than what she told me and what is in her C.Vs.
I called her attention and she started giving me excuses that hold no water. She is saying that the same DOB were erroneously registerd for her when, perhaps they were registering her for both WAEC and NECO. That when the results came out and she noticed the errors, she complained and applied to correct same, but since then, the exam authorities have not corrected them. I have not come to terms with the this discovery. I think this may cause us peace, thrust and love in pur marriage.
My brothers and sisters, i think am contemplating of what action to take against her and am contemplating a divorce, but our two children are still very small for this. I want to report this issue to her family and mine. Am gradually withdrawing my trust for her.
I need matured advice and suggestions that will see me through this.

EU official advises Nigeria to devalue Naira so as to come out of recession
Today, Fillippo Amato, Counsellor, Head of Trade and Economics Section of EU, explained that recession could not be addressed with traditional development tools.
He said the recession was a recent development which was due to a number of factors, including the fall in oil prices and resurgence of militancy in the Niger Delta.
He said,
“To come out of recession, the country has to take brave decisions, regardless of how unpopular they may be such as fully and effectively devaluing the Naira.
Devaluing the Naira is a measure, which will finally reassure investors and attract new capitals to the country. At the same time, it will further reduce imports, thereby removing artificial forex restrictions, and removing any potential waste of scarce resources such as the fuel subsidy.”
South African Man who was Gang-raped By 2 Ladies: Here’s how it happened
A Hluhluwe man has said he will not be able to forgive the three (the third one held the camera) women who raped him.
A video of the incident appeared on social media and has since gone viral.
The man, whose name is known to the Daily News, said he was at home when a woman whom he knows called him over, saying she needed help with an electrical problem at her home.
“I went into her house and when I got there, I saw another girl in the room. I did not pay any attention to her. Then another girl who was hiding behind the door closed it, that’s when I realised that something was wrong.”
He said after they closed the door behind him, they told him they wanted to sleep with him.
“I initially thought they were joking,” he said.
However, he soon realised they were serious when he was attacked. He said he tried to defend himself but his arm was weak since he had injured it in an accident years ago.
He said he was let go and he went home and took a shower. He said the incident had left him feeling confused.
“I told my older sister about what happened but she thought I was joking.”
It was only after a video appeared online that she took what he said seriously and encouraged him to go to the police. He said he feared going to the police because he thought they would not take him seriously.
“When I told them what happened they were shocked. The three women were arrested the same day I reported the matter.”
The alleged rapists were people he knew and grew up with in the area, he said.
“I’m very angry,” he said of the assault. One of the families of the alleged rapists went to the man’s home to try to make amends, he said.
“My brothers and sisters were not having any of it,” he said.
He was looking forward to the trial and wanted the women to be severely punished. “People like that should not be part of society.”
What made it more difficult to move on was that the video was on social media and people had come to ask him what happened.
“It is something I never thought would happen to me. There is not much I can do but try to move on.”
According to Reese Mann, executive director of the South African Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse (Samssa), one out of six males before the age of 18 were sexually abused.
Mann said 19.3% of all sexual violations reported to police involved male victims.
“Male victims of sexual abuse are less likely than their female counterparts to report incidents of sexual abuse, because police and the judiciary don’t take it seriously,” Mann said.
Mann said a widely held myth was that if males got an erection and/or, ejaculated during the sexual abuse, they must have enjoyed it.
“A man being raped can still get an erection because it is in the physiological make-up of males that if they are caressed long enough they end up getting an erection,” said Mann.
He said there was also the myth that men should be capable of protecting themselves against sexual abuse.
“There are three stages that any victim of sexual abuse goes through, and they are called the three Fs.
“They can fight back, they can flee or they are just overcome by fear and the force exerted by the perpetrator, in which case they just freeze,” said Mann.
Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane, confirmed the incident and said the women had appeared in the Hluhluwe Magistrate’s Court last Thursday and were expected to appear again on Tuesday for a bail application.
He said they were being held in custody.

Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Ajayi died on July 6, 2016 after an unsuccessful battle with heart-related issues. Her big break into Nollywood was her role in the Village Headmaster in the 70s.
In March 2016, the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) awarded her with the 2016 ‘Industry Merit Award’.
