We shared with y’all few hours ago, how popular On Air Personality, Gbemi, took to Twitter to rant about a restaurant, “Sailors Lounge”, whose security guard bounced out her and her friends because they weren’t escorted by men (Here).
Well, hours later after the story went viral, Sailor’s Lounge made haste in issuing an apology to the OAP and her friend, and invited them to come over whenever they are free, and they’d give them a personal apology.
Apologizing via Twitter, they also clarified their stand on unescorted ladies. It’s alleged that in a now deleted post, they had also stated that “they turn back unescorted ladies because of their type of crowd“.
Okay, is it just me or do I feel like the producer is feeling urge to have a soul mate?! – he took to his Instagram moments ago to puzzle his “future wife” on some questions relating to their future marriage ceremony.
It’s a known fact that newlyweds are usually all wrapped up in each other – but these shots show the couples who take it very literally indeed.
These incredible images are of shrink-wrapped wedding couples who risk DEATH to get the most up-close wedding photographs that they can.
Photographer Hal Kawaguchi covers the lovebirds in lube then vacuum packs them together in a huge plastic bag – sucking out all the oxygen. The couples have to hold their breath for about ten seconds or more while the process takes place.
But the Japanese snapper reveals that he even keeps a paramedic on hand – as the suffocated couples must hold their breath and he has just four seconds to take the shots or else disaster could happen.
The 20-year-old student who shared Whatsapp pictures of Usain Bolt relaxing in bed with her after an apparent sexual romp, Jady Duarte, says she is “dying of shame” after the snaps went viral.
In one of the photos, the Olympian appears to be lying topless on top of the student snuggling up to her neck while she uses her free hand to take a selfie of the pair together from behind him.
Bolt appears to give Duarte a kiss on the cheek while she stares into the camera. It is not clear whether he knew that snap was being taken at the time.
Local newspaper Extra reports that Duarte says that the impact of the pictures has not been good for her. She explains: “It’s very negative. I never wanted to be famous, I’m dying of shame.”
Duarte insisted that she just shared the pics among her friends – and that she didn’t expect the whole of the world to see them. She added:
“I just sent it to the group of my girlfriends, now you see…
“I just sent and said ‘anyone who saw the Olympics will know who is.”
Local newspaper Extra also reports she also claimed to have no idea who Bolt was – despite the extrovert sprinter’s notorious worldwide fame.
Duarte says she was at the club All In in Barra in the West Zone of Rio, with friends when “Bolt spotted her“. She said:
“He sent a security guard to call me over. We spoke quickly.
“But at that moment I didn’t know it was him, because there were many Jamaicans who looked similar.”
Duarte fell short of revealing more details of what happened next – other than to say:
“It was not a big deal. It was normal.
“I’d rather not talk about it – in order not to complicate matters.
“Like I said, it was normal.”
It’s also emerged that Bolt was allegedly briefly following Duarte on Instagram – one of just 104 people he was following – but that ‘follow‘ appears to have since been deleted.
Nigerian female music sensation, Tiwa Savage is featured in the latest issue of Elle South Africa magazine’s in an article tagged “Keeping Up With Tiwa”.
In the article, the “bad” crooner has a jaw-to-jaw movement with Tidi Benbenisti of the magazine, where she talks about how she used to be a tomboy before her glam days, her deal with Roc Nation and the fact that her private life was recently subjected to public spectacle.
Speaking about her private life she says:
“My biggest failure was exposing my private life too much. There will always be speculation, but by addressing it you are adding more fuel to the fire. I now choose not to address anything.”
On her deal with Roc Nation, she says:
“We are finalising the details with his company, and it is an amazing opportunity for any artist, particularly a woman, because traditionally such global parts have largely been enjoyed by the male artists.” She adds “I’m so honoured it has happened to me. And while it may mean, as a woman, I need to work 10 times harder to make things happen, I am fine with that. My approach is: do what it takes”.

My husband is tired, so am I. Anyone with a reasonable solution please? No insults, only reasonable comments.
Thanks”

Nigerians should be educated on the fact that the temperatures in Jos, capital city of Plateau state can drop to as low as 10° because of its location which is at staggering elevation of about 1,238 metres or 4,062 feet high above sea level.
This phenomenon of course, explains why ice, rather than rain regularly falls in the area, like it did today. Residents of the city woke up this morning to see the ice rain, or hailstones, which had fallen throughout the night.
Imagine this kinda rain on somebody’s head, it’s like throwing stones at someone… More photos below:
Not only do I find it creative, I see it as inventive… Only twist it has to it is that it’s for dead people… So uuurhhh… It’s quite confusing what to say about it though.
People request for customized coffins to reflect the occupation of their deceased loved ones, but for some others requesting a “customized” coffin is seen as a taboo cause it’s more or less like calling death to one’s self.
Whether it’s a ‘taboo’ or nah, the creativity in this coffin you see in the photo did not stop many people from admiring it’s unique aeroplane inspired design. It was made by a young furniture maker – some even said they wouldn’t mind being buried in such.
Sources from the Nigerian team state that the NFF will not get a dime of the $390,000 awarded to the bronze winning Nigeria U-23 team by Japanese billionaire Katsuya Takasu.
Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel will rather donate part of his share of the largess in a sharing formula that will include the 22 players, team officials, and coach Siasia. Indeed, NFF will not get a dime from the money.
Katsuya Takasu, a Japanese surgeon made good his promise to reward the team for their bravery in Rio after they beat Honduras 3-2 for the bronze medal.
The Nigeria Football Federation and the Sports Ministry made their observations known by insisting that the money must be from a credible sources, but according to feelers from the camp of the Olympics Eagles, the NFF were only seeking for means of getting their hands on the money.
However, Takasu issued two Citibank cheques $200,000 in the name of coach Samson Siasia and $190,000 in the name of Mikel. One of the team’s officials disclosed to Africafootball.com that the team vowed not to hand over the money to the NFF.
“Mikel has insisted all of us will get our share of the money. That we should not mind what the people in the NFF are saying.
“He will make available this cash when he comes for next month’s AFCON qualifier against Tanzania in Uyo.”
A team meeting has already resolved that both players and officials will receive equal amount of the cash with Mikel himself agreeing to give part of his own share for the chief coach (Siasia) to get more than the rest of the squad.
It was further gathered that the sharing formula agreed was a flat rate for the 22 players (18 accredited players and four alternate players) and 10 officials.
Popular Nigerian transgender Noni Salma, formerly known as Habeeb Babatunde Lawal, a young Nigerian entertainment journalist, attended a fundraising/charity ball event yesterday and shared these photos of herself garbed in a duchess champagne mermaid gown with sheer cape and lace trimming showing off her derriere side.

Something I like about this stunning celebrity is how she is so fashion savvy that you can almost not spot a flaw in whatever fashion statement she makes – like I’ve said before, I guess she’s more in touch with fashion than she is with music.
The beauty rocked this pretty fringe belt at a magazine launch yesterday and I wonder if you lovely female ladies would rock it… I personally think it’s cute though.
Controversial Catholic priest, Ejike Mbaka, has stated that there are plans being hatched to murder President Muhammadu Buhari over his uncompromising stand on corruption.
In a video message, the father urged the devotees at his popular Adoration Ground in Enugu to desist from speaking evil against the president.
“So I want to tell you that so far, God is happy with Buhari.
And him whom God has blessed, may you not try to accurse, because God will curse you,” said the priest. “Many people are planning, as it is revealed, to kill him. There are many plans on how to eliminate his life so that corruption will continue, so that quantum embezzlement will continue.
Go ahead and war against evil. President Buhari, go ahead and war against corruption. President Buhari, God and his people are behind you, you are the answer of the prayers of the people, amen.’”
The priest attributed the hardship to past leaders who corruptly enriched themselves.
“They succeeded in removing the liver, kidneys, and cardiovascular systems of this country, and paralyzed the neurological organs and handed over to Buhari, the new president, shambles, skeleton almost, a nation that is comatic. “Nigeria right now, economically, security wise, is in the intensive care unit.
If the oxygen is removed, Nigeria will go. “All the money voted for road constructions were swindled, eaten. Many of them became millionaires and billionaires in Naira, in Dollars, in Pounds, in Euro. Billionaires, when they have no workshop, no business centre. Somebody who has nothing he’s doing, yet he’s a billionaire, because he’s a politician.”

Some of my friends also tell me I have lovely, sexy eyes and good skin, Yes, I’d like to insure my breasts, they are worth it. Honestly, if I really have to, I’d insure them and make sure nothing ever happens to them,” Chineke says.
A 42-year-old married man recently walked out of his marriage of 13 years after his wife discovered a skeleton in his closet- he is gay.
The man who has been living with his wife and two kids at an Estate in Hurlingam had before walking out on his marriage, cheated on his wife with a string of men on escapades that had been going on for decades.
While talking to the Standard, the man narrated how he had come to love fellow men but was unable to come out of the closet for fear of public ridicule.
He got married despite his orientation and went on to have children in a bid to throw people off on his sexual preference.
When the millenium struck and the tolerance for gay relationships in Kenya grew, the man who has been identified as Collins felt the urge to have a boyfriend – which he did.
Collins who have had several relationships with fellow men was outed in 2014 when his wife stumbled on a photo of him kissing another man on social media.

A man who can no longer tolerate the troublesome nature of his wife has appeared before a court seeking a dissolution to their matrimonial union.
An Agege customary court in Lagos, Lagos State has reconciled a couple, Mr Akinyemi Ilesanmi and his wife, Comfort, whose 10-year-old marriage was on the brink of collapse.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that Akinyemi, who claimed to be a prophet, had instituted a divorce suit on June 20, on the grounds that there was no love between them and an alleged threat to his life.
He also alleged that his wife was a ‘witch’.
However, the intervention of the court’s president, Mr Philip Williams, and the couple’s families helped to resolve the couple’s differences and reconcile them.
Williams subsequently, urged the couple to give peace a chance in the marriage and be law abiding.
Earlier in his testimony during hearing, the petitioner, who resides at Akute Area of Ogun State, told the court that there was no love in the marriage.
“I have not been at peace since l got married to my wife, she is so quarrelsome.
“I am a prophet of God, but since l married her, she has been disturbing my ministry. Whenever l am fasting, she forces me to break it due to her bad attitude. ‘My wife is a devil,’ even those in my neighbourhood call her a witch,” he alleged.
According to him, the marriage which was contracted in 2006 has not produced any child.
“We got married under two weeks of meeting each other following a fake prophet my wife introduced to me while we were courting. He prophesied then to me that she was my wife.
“Due to her troublesome ways, l have now developed high blood pressure.
“My lord, I want an end to this marriage because I cannot cope with my wife’s trouble anymore. Please, separate us, so that l can have a rest of mind,” the petitioner said.
In her response, Comfort who is the respondent, pleaded for reconciliation.
She, however, denied all the allegations levelled against her by her husband.
“I am still interested in the marriage. I want this court to save my marriage because I do not want to marry another husband. I still love him,” she told the court.

Read her narration below:
This is the driver ( thief) that stole my car, a Honda Accord 2012 model (KTU 539 AV) yesterday, August 20, 2016. He started work same yesterday, and drove me to work as I had a meeting for 8.00am. We got to my office at about 7.58am and once we drove into the car park, I got down and showed him where to park the car and dashed off as I was already running late for the meeting. At the end of the meeting, I got to the car park at about 2.12pm and my car was not parked there. I tried calling the driver several times, but his phone was switched off. I then went to the security guys at the gate to enquire if they had seen him and they confirmed that he drove out at 8.03am, exactly 5mins after we got to the office. His name is Joseph Nwaeke .

July 28, 2016 will go down as a memorable day for Nigerians on the Internet.
It was the day actress, Toyin Aimakhu cried foul, alleging that the #SaveMayowa cause was all a con planned by the family members of the reason behind the movement – Mayowa Ahmed – a 31 year old stage IV cancer patient who allegedly needed $100,000 for urgent treatment abroad.
The Nollywood actress raised hell at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), promising to get to the bottom of things as she had been a major part of the campaign to raise funds for Mayowa who she described as her ‘fan.
She felt distressed and displeased with the opinion that she had been used as an accessory in defrauding Nigerians of their hard-earned money.
After her remarks at the premises of LUTH went viral, Toyin decided to withdraw herself from the whole controversy, making no mention of the cause even till today after Mayowa was reported to have passed on to the great beyond and Nigerians flooded their timelines with #RIPMayowa messages.
Since the news of Mayowa’s demise hit the internet, Aimakhu has stayed away from social media. Her last Instagram post was 9 hours ago.
Her Twitter account has been dormant since November 2015.
Calls to the actress have not been returned.
Whatever happens though, she played a huge role in getting Nigerians involved in #SaveMayowa and she will be forever remembered for standing up when it counted.
The first daughter of widower, Jide Kosoko, has opened up on her relationship with her late step mum, Henrietta Kosoko who died on June 6, 2016.
According to the pretty actress, though she and Henrietta quarreled, she still loved her and miss her. She told SUNDAY PUNCH:
“The late Henrietta Kosoko was my stepmother who tried her best when I was young. She always guided and supervised us. Her twins from a previous relationship and her younger brother lived with us for several years. Though there were times we quarrelled, she was a mother indeed. I certainly miss her; she was a very jovial person who made people laugh a lot. I also miss our quarrels.”
Unlike most Nollywood marriages, Sola’s is intact and the marriage has produced a daughter. Speaking glowingly of her spouse, Sola said,
“My husband remains my first baby and number one priority. I ensure I am always there for my husband, and he also stands by me at all times. I have learnt to respect my husband and in-laws. Being humble is the key to success. Humility takes you very far.
“I thank God for the kind of husband I have. He encourages me a lot, and I carry him along in all my endeavours. In fact, he is my unofficial manager. We are both involved in the checks and balances of my career and marriage.”
She didn’t forget to mention her father, Jide Kosoko,
Jide Kosoko, Bayowa and Sola Kosoko-Abina at Henrietta Kosoko’s Funeral Rites
“I am very close to my father because he is my greatest adviser, and mentor. He is a responsible father who always supports his children and their spouses .He is a man of the people and he is very generous. He gives to the detriment of himself and his family. My dad influenced my acting career. As a kid, he made me act in the Omo Orukan. When I was a bit grown, he persuaded me to feature in his movies, Oko Irese and Ola Abata. After taking part in those movies, my father and other members of our family convinced me that I acted well. My dad’s colleagues also said I acted in a convincing manner.”
A happy-go-lucky actress, she has found joy in raising her only child. Of motherhood, she remains grateful to God for the adventure.
She said,
“For me it has been a profound and unique adventure. My daughter is a fun-loving girl, and there are no dull moments with her. Though you can’t rule out the stress associated with motherhood, it really is something you take pleasure in.”
Describing herself as, “a simple and easy-going person,” she said she loves to keep a low profile and keep to herself a lot.
But, “I hang out with my friends sometimes, or rest by watching movies at home. I enjoy going to the cinemas and I love to be around my family. I dislike deceitful people.”
Decent dressing remains a rule for her no matter the level of stardom. Sola said,
“You won’t see me in questionable or immature clothing that can discredit my background and marital status. The only times I wear clothes of that nature are when I am on the set of a movie and the character I am playing requires that I dress in such a manner.”
Two suspected ritual killers, disguised as mentally challenged person, were yesterday discovered under the Otokutu Bridge in Ughelli South council area of Delta State.
It was gathered a would-be victim blew the lid on the suspects after managing to escape.
The latest incident came 12 years after police recovered decomposing corpses under the same bridge in 2004 from a gang of ritual killers.
The suspects were reportedly handed over to the Jeremi Police Division.
An eyewitness at the scene of the incident said: “Two men looking lunatic attacked a woman who was gathering sharp sand along the road side on the Otokutu end of the bridge.
“They were struggling with her trying to drag her to their hideout under the bridge. The helpless woman started shouting and alerted passers-by.
“Concerned drivers and passengers began to stop to see what the problem was. That was when it occurred to the public that ritual killers have come to the bridge again.
“The crowd was still beating them when police came and took the suspects away.”
Another witness said:
“Unlike in 2004 when the suspects caught were found with human carcasses of victims killed, no body was found under the bridge.
“But the sight of several school bags belonging to pupils, several clothes and women bags convinced the mob that ritual killers are back in Otokutu Bridge.
Here’s a story shared by an old colleague of popular Comedian Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY Comedian who just celebrated his 45th birthday with much fanfare.
Its a throwback story of how the versatile stand up comic cum actor, rose from nothing in his University to become one of the most famous faces in the Entertainment scene.
Read Below:
I know AY!
AY the consistently creative Comedian.
Lately, AY has been enjoying so much enlargement but before you envy his sweet story, let me tell you the sordid side of his story.
It’s the story of a down period in his Campus days. Even though he was industrious and was into Events and Pageants, things weren’t just happening for him.
It got so bad his Ex – the one he was supposed to marry – visited him on a cold Abraka Night.
The Mission? To break a News! “AY,” she whispered, softly and tenderly, “you know I love you, but you are approaching life at SNAIL SPEED. I can’t go on like this.” Then she hugged AY. Gave him one last peck. Refrained from the hug. Cat-walked into a waiting SUV. And zoooom… she went.
Apparently, some ‘big men’ had brought her to officially disengage with AY.
It was more agonizing because the same ‘big man’ had offered AY N200,000 so he could break up with his her. And AY had rejected the offer, insisting: “my love is not for sale.” Now she’s gone. Just like that.
Tears!
AY wept!
But the show of his bright future must go on. True, he might have been slow. True, he couldn’t approach life faster than he did. And, true, he DID NOT STOP either.
Slowly, he relocated to Lagos but did not stop until he became Alibaba’s PA.
Slowly, he started Open Mic Challenge but did not stop until he discovered great comedy stars.
Slowly, he staged AY Live but did not stop until it became Africa’s Biggest.
Slowly, he rented apartments in Iponri, Aguda, and Ikorodu but he did not stop until he became a Landlord in Lekki.
Slowly, he produced most viewed Comedy Skits on YouTUBE but did not stop until he produced 30 Days In Atlanta – the highest grossing movie in Africa.
It’s not a HYPE. It’s a message!
It does not matter how SLOWLY you go; as long as YOU DO NOT STOP, You will get there.
Smile!

Just for refusing to date a fellow youth corps member, Temitope Adedewe’s whole life ambition seems to have run into a cul-de-sac.
First, she was battered, so much so that she lost two teeth and landed in a hospital; then her NYSC certificate was with-held, the effect of which has caused her to miss an opportunity to sit for a scholarship award examination by her Ife National Descendants Association – something which would have opened the gates for her to go further her studies in her choice university in the United Kingdom.
Temitope also faces the bleak prospect of not being able to apply for her master’s degree in Nigeria or even get a meaningful job worth her qualification.
Adewewe’s nightmare began when in June of 2015; a male corps member of the same batch (Batch A 2015/2016), Oluwabusiyi Adeola Bolarinde started making advances at her.
She had known Bolarinde from their undergraduate days at the History Department of Obafemi Awolowo University, but said she always stayed away from him “because he was the aggressive type.”
“The first time I spoke to him was when we were in camp.” Adewewe said. Both however got posted to the same local government and place of primary assignment, giving Bolarinde the opportunity to start pressing her for a relationship.
“When we got posted to the same school and had to stay in the same lodge, the boy started asking me out. He said he had always liked me even while we were in school but didn’t have the courage to approach me because of my countenance. I told him there and then that I was not interested but he persisted and I in turn insisted.”
Bolarinde’s persistence soon took a nasty turn, when in December that year, he resorted to insulting Adewewe. With every attempt to woo her failing, he suddenly decided to make her life miserable.
“He became very hostile and started insulting me at any given opportunity. Sometimes, I returned the insults and at other times, I just ignored him. This continued until January when things took a worse dimension.
It is one thing to rain insults on someone and a completely different thing to get physically abusive. Adewewe was thus totally unprepared for what soon followed.
“On the 23rd of January at the Corpers’ Lodge of Mary Slessor Technical Secondary School where we both served, Bolarinde suddenly went violent and beat me up. We had just returned from the weekly Community development Service (CDS) three days earlier on the 20th; I wanted to recharge my phone line, but the network told me I had to register my line because my sim had been blocked. Still a stranger in the environment, I asked someone where I could do the registration; the person told me he knew someone who knew the place, not knowing that the person he had in mind was Bolarinde. Of course I refused to go with him, but this person offered to go with us if that would make me feel comfortable. So I agreed and we went.
“There, they said I had to pay N600 for the registration, but I told the officer I didn’t have that amount of money on me. Just then, Bolarinde said to the man, “Do it for her, I’ll pay, she’s my girlfriend.”
I immediately refuted the statement, which made the man to start making jest of him that his girlfriend was denying him. He insisted that I was his girlfriend, to which I said ‘Who is your girlfriend? If it’s a joke, stop it.’ I paid the man N200 and left.
“That was on Thursday. On Saturday, I was sitting in the lodge. By this time, the Batch B corps members had joined us in the house. There were like eight guys. Normally around 5:00 pm, the guys would go out and fetch water. The house was in a very thick bush, so we used to lock our doors early. On this particular evening, we’d already locked the door. I was in the sitting room when I heard a knock on the door, I was scared, I asked who was at the door and the person just responded, “Me.” I insisted the person mentioned his name before I opened the door, which he (Bolarinde) finally did.
“When I opened the door, he complained that he had been standing at the door all day. He then told me that for all the gragra (resistance) I’d been doing, I only had a day left for him to show me ‘pepper.’ I ignored his threat and told him that if he had gone to fetch water like his male colleagues, he wouldn’t be standing there telling me rubbish. This was around 5pm. Around 7pm, he started sending me threat messages. One of them read, “Let this be the first and last time I’ll knock and you won’t open the door.”
“I asked who was sending me messages because I didn’t have his number. He then asked me to check his profile picture. When I checked and saw he was the one, I told him never to send me messages again. He started insulting me and I returned the insults. Later I came out of the room to charge my phone. By this time, people had already returned to the lodge and they were discussing in the sitting area. He came in and started cussing in Yoruba, and it was just the two of us that understood what he was saying. The other guy that understood Yoruba was downstairs. Part of what he said was, “Some people think they are fine; that’s why everybody is asking them out and they’re forming.”
“But I was in no mood to stomach or banter insults, so I left the sitting room and went into my room. The next thing I heard was a kick at the door and Bolarinde came into the room and started beating me with his belt. I screamed and people rushed into the room and pulled him away from me. But before then, blood had already started oozing out of my face and body because it was the iron end of the belt that he used on me. Someone asked me to go and wash off the blood on my face, but as I was going to the bathroom, he came by and told me he wasn’t done with me yet.
“For want of something to say, I said ‘So you dare come to my room to beat me with a belt?’But the next thing I saw was a blow to my mouth. For the second time, he started beating me again. There was a hammer on the floor in his room, in a twinkle, he picked it up with his leg and banged it on my mouth. That’s how I lost my teeth. Everything happened so fast. This was around 11pm. It was already too late for me to go to the hospital. In fact, it was later I noticed the bite on my face. I didn’t and still can’t recall the exact time he bit me.”
Bolarinde’s story
When The Nation called Bolarinde for his side of the story, his initial response was somehow aloof. “The Nation newspaper? Wow! So, you want to publicise my story, right? Well, when I see official notice to that effect, I will respond sha.”
This reporter tried to underscore the importance of him giving his side of the story to make for a balanced report. Bolarinde promised to call back because according to him, he was “somehow busy” at the moment and couldn’t speak.
After waiting for his call to no avail, this reporter placed another call to him, taking more pain to explain why it was in his best interest to give his account of the story, since the other side was going to be published anyway.
Bolarinde however maintained his position, citing the NYSC code of conduct, which he said does not allow corpers to give audience to the press. He said “I am still a corper because my certificate is still being withheld by the NYSC. I’m also aware that some media houses went to the headquarters to confirm issues there… If I deem it fit to express myself, I probably will.”
Almost inadvertently admitting that a fracas indeed took place, Bolarinde said, “The thing is just that something happened, yes. The person involved went to report to the authority. Now that… in short, I have nothing to say for now…. You have tried ma, at least I don’t know you and you don’t know me, and you have called on two occasions.”
Wasn’t Adewewe aware of the ‘code of conduct’?
Adewewe said she had gone to a nearby hospital the following morning since the incident took place the previous night when it was too late to visit any hospital.
On reaching the hospital, she recounted,
“The nurse asked what happened to me. I explained. She asked me three questions: Are you dating him? Are you sleeping with him? Did you collect money from him? I said no and she insisted I go and get a police report before they begin any treatment, saying that this one has gone beyond normal fighting and that the boy may be in a cult, to have beaten me to the point of using a hammer to remove my teeth and giving me a very big bite on my face. That was how I went to the police station at Arochukwu. Besides, this incident happened in our place of primary assignment and not at the NYSC camp in Umuahia.”
At the station, Adewewe said the sergeant who took her statement refused to believe her story, insisting that she had to have been in a serious fight to have sustained such kind of injury.
To confirm her story, he followed her to the lodge and picked up three corpers who witnessed the incident. At the station, three of them gave the same account, which made him arrest and put Bolarinde in a cell until they were able to reach Mr Ikeagu Valentine, the Local Government Inspector or LI.
The sergeant who handled the case, in a phone chat with The Nation said they released the corper to the LI immediately, after he pleaded and promised to resolve the matter amicably as a body and give the police a feedback.
He added that he has been transferred but that he handed the file to another officer as is expected
“Since then, we have not heard anything from them.” He said. “We also learnt that both of them were queried. I really don’t know much about the case again, because we were expecting them to get back to us.
The announcement of the death of Mayowa Shukurat Ahmed from complications of stage 4 ovarian cancer earlier today (Sunday, August 21) in South Africa ended the fairy tale that followed the public spirited fund raising campaign applauded by the good people of Nigeria.
With over N85 million raised, her death dampened the spirits of legions as they had hoped and prayed that she would return from her medical trip abroad alive and well.
But before she travelled abroad on August 10, she was a very frail woman who had been left to her fate. At a point, she was not receiving treatment at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital.
She was at home in Ebute Meta, practically without the round the clock medical care and attention required. She was later moved back to LUTH, so that she could be stabilized before her trip.
Though the fund raiser lifted her spirit, tales of a scam was a troubling episode that affected her in no small way. And all the energy and mental preparations needed for recovery was soon drained. And a lot of time was wasted as the police in Lagos investigated the scam allegation.
By the time the investigation was concluded and access to the money raised allowed, many variables had changed.
From the initial plan to treat her in the United States of America to the Middle East and later South Africa, the delay took a toll on her health and spirit.
What’s more, cancer is a devastating ailment. And survival rate of stage 4 ovarian cancer is actually between 5 and 17 percent five years after treatment.
For stage 4 ovarian cancer, the cancer had spread beyond her ovary, affecting many other organs.
Pandemonium broke out on the 26th of June 2016, during the wedding of Nkechi Ofor and her husband Emeka Ofor at the premises of the Umuahia North Local Government Headquarters, Abia State.
A minor disagreement between families and friends of the couple ensued when the bride alleged that her village people were not been served enough foods and drinks despite the fact that she contributed the lion share of the wedding expenses.
As the man in charge of drinks was trying to give explanations and at the same time urging the raging bride to keep it cool, it led to a hot argument between them and Nkechi the bride, fully dressed in her wedding atire, picked up bottles and started throwing them at the man.
The noisy scenario attracted the groom, Emeka, who stormed out of the reception to calm his wife but Nkechi, the groom was reported to have threatened to stab her newly wedded husband and stab herself if she is not allowed to have her way.
The groom’s family allegedly stormed the scene angrily throwing bottles and chairs leading to a free for all fight between the two families.
It was during the melee, that one Chisom Ofor, said to be a younger brother of the groom mistook a guest, Chinwendu Ibiam, for a junior brother of the bride and allegedly stabbed him at the back of the neck. The victim was reported to have fainted immediately.

According to Uche Ibiam, an elder brother of the victim, “he and his junior brother were invited for the wedding by the bride because the bride is their neighbour at their shop.
He narrated that he “was inside the hall when he started hearing someone shouting stab him, stab him” and that as he made his way to see what was happening, he claimed to have seen Chisom, the groom’s younger brother, stabbing his own brother on the neck and in the process, the victim fainted. Chisom and the rest of the people, alleged, ran away from the scene.
Uche said he quickly rushed his bloodied brother to a the police hospital on Bende Road, Umuahia and the matter was reported at the Central Police Station Umuahia. Nkechi, the bride was invited by the police to rendered an account of what led to the chaos that engulfed her wedding reception, but she refused to show up.
Three days later, Nkechi was said to have made a sudden appearance at the hospital where the victim was undergoing treatment and she allegedly promised to pay for the victims medical expenses. Since then, she never showed up or fulfill her pledge to take responsibilities for the hospital bills.
The neglect and nonchalant attitude of the couple to the plight of the victim prompted a legal practitioner, Barr. Anthony Onyenowu of Victory Chambers, Umuahia, to send a petition to the Commissioner of Police, Abia State, and thereafter the matter was transferred to the State CID Umuahia, for proper investigation.
Men of the state police command, on 3rd August 2016, were at Ajata Ibeku, the hometown of Ofor’s to effect the arrest of Chisom, who allegedly stabbed Chinwendu. Chisom was said to have stripped himself naked and almost escaped before the police caught up with him.
In the process, youths in the village, wielding cutlasses and other dangerous weapons allegedly waylaid the police team and rescued Chisom after inflicting injuries on the policemen. Since then, Chisom Offor walks a freeman boasting of his invincibility even from law enforcement agents.
Efforts to get the bride, Mrs. Nkechi Ofor’s side of the story was impossible as her phone number 07064979345 remained switched off for days.
