25-Year-old writer Samuel Leighton-Dore, seen in the photo above, spoke to Mirror Online about his decision for his sister to have his child and has also opened up about the negative response it has received.
Samuel, from Sydney, is in a relationship with photographer and designer Bradley Tennant but doesn’t want to miss out on their baby having both of their family’s genes.
As a compromise, his sister Bronte has agreed to donate her eggs so that the couple can have the family they’ve always wanted.
Samuel told Mirror Online:
“It’s not too strange when you break it down. We’ll be using IVF. It’ll be my sister’s egg and my partner’s sperm with a third-party surrogate, preferably someone who already has a family of their own. “It’s the only way my partner and I can both have a biological connection to our future children. “It might sound vain to some people, but I think the desire to have a child with the person you love is pretty intrinsic and natural.”
The couple aren’t entering into the decision lightly. Samuel says a baby is still “a few years away” as the process is all very expensive, but he stresses that “it’s definitely something you have to think about and plan ahead of time.”
He said: “I think she’s excited about it. We’ve always been close so I think it means a lot to her that she’s in a position to help Brad and I start a family one day.”
A quite shocking footage has surfaced online showing female employees lined up to give their boss a kiss. The clip shows the female employees, all putting on white blouses and black skirts or trousers, waiting their turn to be approached by their older boss.
The man then walks along the line, with his hands behind his back, and pecks each one. The girls waiting for their turn look unimpressed, many stood with their arms crossed.
The footage is doing the rounds on social media in China, where it is believed the clip was filmed. It is speculated that the odd exercise was part of a team building day and was meant to promote strong bonds.
A retired Assistant Superintendent of Police, Anthony Kwanmi and three of his children were on Monday morning burnt beyond recognition in their house in an inferno suspected to have been caused by electrical spark.
Names of the affected children were given as Theresa, Emmanuel and Kerry. Only their skeletons were allegedly recovered after the fire was put out.
But his wife and one of his children survived the unfortunate incident. They are presently receiving medical attention.
The incident occurred in the wee hours of Monday at about 1:30am in Jenta Adamu Community of Jos, North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
It was gathered that the retired police officer was former Aide De’ Camp to the second civilian Governor of the State, Amb. Fidelis Tapgun.
Eyewitness account said that the fire broke out at about 1:30am on Monday immediately after the Nigeria vs Sweden match. The building was
razed down completely by the fire suspected to be from electrical fault.
Online news portal, Eagle Online, reported that the last child, a girl, died at the hospital where she was receiving treatment. The children who didn’t survive are Theresa, Thomas, Emmanuel and Kerry.
The lady in the photo above, Serena Omo-Lamai has reportedly, been granted admission to study in 13 universities in America and Canada, she has opted for Syracuse University, United States.
Omo-Lamai, who graduated from Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos, last year, would be going to the states to study Bio-Medical Engineering.
Some of the universities where she was offered admission include Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, New York University, among others, the Punch reports.
Speaking in a telephone interview with newsmen on Monday, Omo-Lamai said she settled for Syracuse University because of the institution’s world-class research laboratory and a $51,000 scholarship offer.
The teenager, who aspires to be a medical engineer, disclosed that she would study medicine as a second degree.
“I feel very honoured and I feel it is an opportunity to work harder. I know that I have to justify the offer. I chose Syracuse University because it has a very good research lab and the offer came with $51,000 scholarship. I have always loved Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Geography.
“My hope is to study medicine for a second degree, but I would love to be a medical engineer. Most of the medical equipment in the country are imported and I would like a situation where medical equipment is manufactured here in Nigeria.
“My parents are my role models, but I am also inspired by anyone who is hard working, anyone who puts so much efforts into what they do,” she said.

A factional chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Kano State, Hussaini Mairiga, on Monday came down hard on President Muhammadu Buhari, describing the president as a total failure.
Mr. Mairiga, who spoke with journalists in Kano, said “from the looks of things President Buhari has betrayed the confidence of the Nigerian masses who voted for him massively into power.”
The president, who was elected on the platform of the APC, assumed office on May 29, 2015.
The factional chairman said it was not an exaggeration that members of many families in the country go to bed without at least one square meal while others had fled their homes because they could no longer provide the basic needs of life for their loved ones.
Mr. Mairiga, who is known for his bluntness, expressed worry that after one year of the Buhari administration in power, there was nothing to show while poverty in the country had reached an unprecedented level.
He lamented that while a bag of rice now sold for N16,000, prices of other essentials commodities had tripled.
Mr. Mairiga noted with dismay that prices of goods were rising at a time the ordinary man did not have money to make a living.
Another disturbing scenario, according to the factional APC chairman, was that those around the president, including his ministers, had refused to tell him the truth and advice on the reality on ground.
He reminded Mr. Buhari of his campaign promises, stating that he did not like the way the masses were allowed to wallow in destitution and penury.
He said Nigerians were in the worst condition that needed urgent attention. The APC Chairman advised the president to stop deceiving Nigerians that the nation had no money whereas on monthly basis the federal and states governments continued to enjoy boost in their allocations.
Mr. Mairiga asked the federal government to urgently open all the closed borders with other countries to allow food into the country.
He warned that if urgent steps were not taken to address the present situation in the country, Nigerians would soon begin to die of hunger on the streets.

A 19-year-old, Ibrahim A, who is standing trial for attempted murder and cult membership, is to remain behind bars until he fulfilled his bail conditions, a Lagos court ruled on Monday.
Ibrahim, an applicant, appeared before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court on a four-count charge bordering on attempted murder, belonging and managing an unlawful society.
Ibrahim pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, B.O. Ope-Agbe, had slammed a bail of N500,000 with two responsible sureties on the accused.
Ope-Agbe, however, adjourned till October 2 pending advice from the State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Jimah Iseghede told the court that the offences were committed on May 27 at Vision Hotel, Onabola Street, Pedro in Bariga area of Lagos.
He said the accused had attempted to murder one Adekunle by breaking a bottle on his head.
The accused is also alleged to be managing and belonging to a cult – “Aiye” confraternity – and also disrupting public peace.
The offences, Iseghede noted, contravened Sections 41, 166, 228 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
A 90-year-old Dennis Port man, Nicholas Salerno, was arrested for patronizing a prostitute after he called the police to report that the prostitute he spent the previous night with, had stolen from him.
According to The Smoking Gun, the 90-year-old Massachusetts man solicited the services of one Karen Proia after his friend said she would give a blowjob for $100.
According to the Dennis Police Department report, the friend gave Salerno the number, and Salerno called Proia to his house.
Salerno said he paid 48 year old prostitute Karen Proia, $100 on June 22 to perform a sex act, according to Orleans District Court documents.
He told police that after the sex act, she said she wanted to use the bathroom in his house, and he let her use it but that after she left his house, he noticed his necklace was missing.
He reported the alleged theft to police June 30.
Fortunately for Salerno, Police recovered the necklace at a pawn shop and arrested the prostitute.
However, a police officer told Salerno he also would be arrested and charged with a crime, for soliciting a prostitute, to which Salerno responded:
“I don’t give a (expletive). I’m 90 years old …”.
Proia is charged with larceny and prostitution. She and Salerno pleaded not guilty at their arraignments last Tuesday.

So you think you can hold a grudge? A Phoenixville man admitted in court that he vandalized the tombstone of a man against whom he held a grudge for more than 50 YEARS.
Paul E. Donovan Jr., 69, of the 1200 block of South Evergreen Drive, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Montgomery County Court to a misdemeanor charge of institutional vandalism of a cemetery in front of President Judge William T. Furber, according to court documents.
Donovan was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay $1,500 in restitution to the family of the deceased. He was also ordered to stay away from the tombstone in the cemetery.
According to the criminal complaint, Donovan told police that he and the deceased were childhood friends, and that 56 years ago, the deceased stole $300 from a box in his bedroom.
When police questioned Donovan, he admitted to defacing the tombstone.
The investigation began when a woman reported on March 22, 2014, that her father’s tombstone in Saint Matthews Cemetery in Whitemarsh Township had the name “John” written over it in orange spray paint, according to the criminal complaint. The same tombstone was vandalized again with the same name in the same color spray paint April 29, 2014, the woman reported to Whitemarsh police.
In December, someone damaged the tombstone by pouring a “black tar-like” substance over it, the complaint said. Police set up hidden cameras to catch any future acts of vandalism. In May, the cameras caught the image of a man stealing lights that had been set up to deter vandalism, the complaint said.
After the tombstone was vandalized again in November, this time with black spray paint covering the last name of the deceased, police were able to identify the suspect as Donovan.
Donovan told police he would “pay back any restitution minus the $300 he was owed over 56 years ago,” Detective G. Lattanze wrote in the complaint.

An 18yrs old housemaid who stole her boss’ N1.5m within just 2-and-half hours of being employed has been arrested alongside her accomplices – the 30-year-old man who married her mother, Gabriel Igbang and her mum, Joy Gabriel.
The maid, Happiness Gabriel, was said to have stolen the cash at her employer’s residence in Lagos, then proceeded to a bush in Ogun to bury her loot, before escaping to Benin, the Edo State capital.
It was gathered that Happiness was engaged by Mrs Bolanle Ibukunoluwa sometimes in May 2016, through one Alhaja popularly known as Iya Dolapo, as a housemaid and the monthly salary agreed upon was N7,000 to be paid in bulk at the end of the year.
On June 26, 2016, at about 5:30 pm, the maid (Happiness) moved into her employer’s house, on that fateful day, the woman (Mrs Bolanle) went out and came back at about 8:00pm only to discover that her new house-help is nowhere to be found.
She forced the gate opened and then discovered that her Lenovo phone valued at N20, 000 and the N1.5m she kept in her room was nowhere to be found. She rushed immediately to her neighbour’s place to ask about the whereabouts of her housemaid and they told her she left before 8:00 p.m. She later went to report the incident at Central Police Station.
Happiness was later apprehended in Benin, where she ran to, after giving her step father the money.
At first, her stepfather and her mother denied receiving any money from her, after much interrogation they confessed and Happiness took the police to the bush in Ogun where the sum of N300,000 was recovered and another N252, 500 was also recovered at another location in the bush at Ogun State.
Delivering her judgement, Magistrate Omoyele found the first defendant guilty of conspiracy and stealing and consequently sentenced her to 2-and-half years imprisonment without an option of fine.
Her step father was found guilty of the offence of receiving stolen property and was jailed one year without an option of fine.
A woman who has spent at least $20,000 by dedicating $10,908 every six months to look like a human Barbie has made a shocking transformation as she now looks totally different.

Since then, Carly has had 26 inch hair extensions done every six months, costing $8,500 (£6,400), and injections into her lips to improve her pout, costing costs $2,500 (£1,900) every six months.
‘Having big lips makes me feel so much more confident and happy. I had thin lips before and was so unhappy about it,’ she said.
She has also started working on trimming her 32inch waist to 28 inches by hitting the gym five days a week. She funds her expensive surgery through bar work and make-up artist work.
She has now made major headlines and attracted a lot of attention to herself which she loves so much.

Boko Haram’s shadowy leader Abubakar Shekau has appeared in a new video vowing to fight on, shrugging off an apparent split in the hardline jihadist group blamed for thousands of deaths since 2009.
“I… Abubakar Ash-Shakawy (Shekau), the leader of Jama’atu Ahlissunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, made it a duty for myself (to fight) Nigeria and the whole world,” Shekau said in the video released on Sunday, using the group’s name since it declared allegiance to the so-called Islamic State.
Last week, Shekau said in an audio message he was still head of the group despite his purported replacement by Sheikh Abu Musab al-Barnawi, a former Boko Haram spokesman.
“We have no desire to fight our Muslim brethren,” Shekau, who last appeared in March, said in the 24-minute video.
Shekau ridiculed suggestions that he was dead, and looked more composed and energetic than in previous appearances.
“I’m alive by the permission of Allah,” he said in his speech in Arabic and Hausa, adding that he would only die when his time came.
In the video he is wearing camouflage gear and holding a machine gun, standing between two Islamist fighters in balaclavas armed with rocket-propelled grenade launchers.
He taunted President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and condemned Western countries including the United States, France, Germany and “the tyrants of the United Nonsense (UN)”.
At the end of his speech – apparently filmed in Boko Haram’s stronghold in the Sambisa forest of northeastern Nigeria – he fired off rounds of ammunition into the air.
