The very old video showed 9-year-old Don Jazzy boldly leading a group of fellow youngsters to perform the hit song by veteran singer, Blackky, titled Rosie.
In the remarkable clip, the young Don Jazzy took center stage, boldly holding the microphone and delivering an impressive rendition of the popular song at the time.
The video has since gone viral, eliciting warm reactions from social media users.

The music producer who is a mogul in the Nigerian music industry, shared screenshots of how he met with three of his artistes before signing them to his record label.
According to his screenshots, Don Jazzy was the one who first reached out to these artistes after he had seen their talent on their respective social media pages.
He advises upcoming artistes to always make sure that regardless of how inconvenient it may seem, they should never stop showcasing their talent however they can, especially on social media.
All three artistes —Ayra Starr, BoySpyce, Bayanni— had the same thing in common, as they were always displaying their talent on social media which got the attention of the music producer, hence, he buzzing them.
The organizers of Headies award have set tongues wagging on social media after they snubbed popular singer, Wizkid, in their 2023 nomination list for the first time since 2011.
Headies released the nomination list for the 2023 edition of the annual award show on July 12, and netizens couldn’t help but notice that Wizkid’s name was conspiciously absent from all the categories.
Thought absent, other Nigerian artistes including Burna Boy, Asake, Kizz Daniel dominated the list with nominations in several categories, while Davido’s ‘Timeless’ album was nominated in the Album of the Year category.
The news has triggered mixed reactions on the internet, as this is the first time in 12 years that Wizkid has not been nominated for a Headies award.
It is, however, worth noting that Wizkid has received an impressive collection of 20 Headies awards in the past.

The homecoming show of Nigerian dancer Poco Lee at his alma mater, Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo campus, reportedly ended in chaos.
The celebrity dancer organized the event at LASU’s main campus in Ojo on Thursday, July 13, where he invited several other stars to perform, including Bella Shmurdah, Odumodublvc, and Zlatan.
However, during the show, Bella Shmurdah, who is also a LASU alumnus, was reportedly assaulted, while Odumodublvc was chased by alleged cultists.
The reason for the alleged attack is yet to be ascertained. However, according to viral reports, alleged cultists stormed the VIP section and targeted some artists.
A video circulating on social media shows Bella Shmurdah with what appeared to be a swollen face, being escorted out of the venue. Odumodublvck, on the other hand, was spotted running out of the event venue.

In other news, an Ondo state Magistrate Court in Akure has sentenced Friday Okeneji, a clergyman to two years in jail for stealing chemical ingredients valued N130,000.
According to the police, he was charged in court with two counts of breaking and entering and stealing. Okeneji committed the crime on July 2, 2023.
The defendant, who pled guilty and is the presiding pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Iwaro Oka Akoko, Ondo State, said that he had no source of income and wanted to gather N150,000 for his mother’s funeral in August.
The Magistrate, Damilola Sekoni, ruled that the pastor was guilty of the allegations and sentenced him to two years in jail with the option of a N100,000 fine. Okeneji was also counseled to change his ways.
Binataste, the wife of popular Nigerian comedian Josh2Funny, has opened up about her past battle with depression.
The mother of one recently revealed on her TikTok page that she once battled depression, but no one around her knew.
She made this revelation while sharing a video of herself where she appeared to be her usual bubbly self, dancing and smiling.
However, in the caption, she explained that although she looked happy in the video, she was secretly battling depression at the time.
“A time I was battling depression and no one knew,” she captioned the video.

In other news, popular content creator, Mr Macaroni, has shared how God answered his prayer when he was expelled from the university and depressed.
He revealed this while responding to a twitter user who expressed surprise he stated that he just watched the movie titled “Isoken” for the first time.
In his response, Mr. Macaroni took the opportunity to reveal that he was expelled from Redeemers University and suffering depression when the movie originally came out due to his involvement in a protest against the institution’s management.
He did not provide specific details about the nature of the protest or the reasons behind it.

The 3-year-old boy who was abducted by a nanny in the Gwarimpa area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, has been reunited with his mother.
Recall that an Abuja-based businesswoman took to social media to raise the alarm about the incident on Monday, July 10.
She said the nanny left the estate with the baby, as captured in a CCTV footage, and failed to return.
She further disclosed that the mother of the missing child is currently battling cancer.
“Please help find this baby and pray for his safe return. Taken by his nanny from an estate in Gwarimpa, Abuja. Please be on the lookout and pray. The boy’s mom is battling cancer… help, help please,”she wrote.
However, the suspected kidnappers later contacted the family and demanded a N15m ransom.
The boy’s mother pleaded with them to accept a N5m ransom, but they refused.
The child was eventually returned to his mother when the nanny and her accomplices were apprehended.
A family member, Jesse Dan Yusuf, who confirmed the latest development on Thursday, July 13, 2023 said that the suspected kidnappers were arrested while the boy has been reunited with his ailing mother.

A Nigerian male nurse has taken to social media to share lessons he observed from working in a male ward while advising men to treat their wives well.
In a series of tweets, the nurse stated that his experience in hospital wards has shown that the only person who’s going to be by a married man’s bedside when he is sick is his wife.
According to him, the way men treat their wives when they are healthy always determines how the women would treat them when they become ill.
He wrote;
“Dear Men!!!
After almost 2 years of working as a nurse in a male ward, I can tell you 2 things I’ve observed.
1, As a married man, the only person who’s going to be by your bedside when you are sick is your wife. I repeat, your wife.
On rare occasions, your kids will be there. For a while though. Only your wife can leave whatever she’s doing to be with you.
Your siblings may come and go, your friends may visit, but she is the only one who will wholeheartedly stay with you throughout your ordeal.
2, The way you treated your wife when you were healthy always shows in the way she will treat you when you are sick.
I’ve seen this pattern play out daily. You see those wives who are being treated well doing everything they can to make their husbands get well.
They disturb the health care practitioners, they cry, they rake, they go above and beyond to make their husbands get better.
Well, the reverse is the case with the abused wife. Her laissez faire attitude will be topnotch. You will sleep and wake up in your poo. You’ll starve.
She’s just staying there for staying sake. Some will leave you in the hospital for like 2 or 3 days before returning from wherever they went to unwind.
You will report to your people, they’ll yell on the phone and still nothing will happen.
One told her in-laws to come and cut her hands and place it on her husband’s buttocks to clean his poo.
You will do nothing. Your family will do nothing.
You will be helpless.
I know you must be thinking that you can revenge if she’s the one on sick bed but No you can’t.
Why? Because you won’t be the one taking care of her during her time in the hospital. You can’t even bring yourself to sleep in the hospital. You’ll employ the services of other people to do the job for you. Her people too will be there for her.

Guinness World Records has stated that they had received over 1,500 applications from Nigerians in the past two months.

According to reports, Guinness World Records said that since Hilda Baci’s record, there has been an increase in the number of would-be record breakers from Nigeria, with 1500 applications received.
GWR stated;
“The attention and excitement that Hilda Baci’s cooking marathon gained was certainly an incentive for many Nigerians to consider attempting a Guinness World Records title. Since her record attempt, there has been a spike in applications from Nigeria, particularly for marathon records.”
A 32-year-old suspect, Yusuf Isah has been arrested by the police in connection with the attack on Apostle Johnson Suleman’s convoy in 2022.
Recall that unidentified gunmen assaulted the vehicle of the senior pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide on the Benin-Auchi Road in Edo State in October 2022, killing six people, including three police officers.
During a news conference in Abuja, Muyiwa Adejobi, the Police spokesman, said that Isah was apprehended by the Intelligence Rapid Team following a comprehensive investigation.
Adejobi also disclosed that the suspect who admitted to his role in the attack on Apostle Suleman had five AK-47 weapons, two K2 assault rifles, and 180 live ammo.
The Police spokesperson said;
“Following an intensive investigation into the fatal attack on the convoy of Apostle Johnson Suleman, the senior pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Auchi, on October 21, 2022, along with Benin police personnel, who were gruesomely murdered, the operatives of FIB-IRT on Auchi road comprising six people, including three of the assailants, apprehended one Yusuf Ismael Isah ‘m’, a native of Okene, Kogi State and a plumber, at Agbaraoluwa Phase 2 Ijoka, Akure, Ondo State and recovered five Ak47 Rifles, two K2 Assault rifles, 180 live ammunition and 4 suspected IEDs were found in his apartment.”
When questioned about the circumstances of the attack on Apostle Suleman’s convoy, the suspect admitted that he was simply a part of the operation and understood very little about it.
He went on to say that he was the first to start fire on the clergyman’s convoy, and that the gun he used was already held by the gang when he joined.
Big Brother Naija star, Victoria Adeyele, better known as Vee, has confirmed the arrest of a plumber who allegedly scammed her.
Vee had revealed on Twitter on Wednesday that the plumber billed her N150,000 for a job worth N20,000 and expressed her intention to report the case to the police.

Nigerian UFC sensation, Israel Adesanya has shared photos of himself training with billionaire Mark Zuckerberg ahead of his highly-anticipated fight against Twitter rival, Elon Musk.
Israel had earlier taken to social media on Tuesday July 11, to release photos of himself with the Meta CEO Zuckerberg and UFC Featherweight Champion, Volkanovski, at a local gym in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
On Wednesday, he posted more photos from their training session and captioned it,“We both have South Africans to deal with.”
Israel was apparently referring to his upcoming fight with undefeated South African middleweight challenger Dricus Du Plessis, as well as Zuckerberg’s anticipated showdown with tech billionaire Musk.

The Meta CEO took to his official Instagram page to inform his over 10 million followers of the birth of his third daughter, Aurelia Chan Zuckerberg.
He posted photos of himself and his wife with their newborn and captioned it, “Welcome to the world, Aurelia Chan Zuckerberg! You’re such a little blessing.”

A Nigerian lady who is currently being sponsored through school by her boyfriend has reportedly fallen pregnant for her coursemate.
The student’s friend, identified as Amanda Chisom, made this disclosure via Twitter on Wednesday, July 12 2023.
According to Amanda, the lady’s boyfriend has been sponsoring her education from the proceeds of his small footwear business.
However, the student cheated with her classmate despite her boyfriend’s financial investment on her and has now become pregnant.

According to a Twitter user, @IamMaxObesi, who shared the sad news, Adedipe was found lifeless in his flat after he failed to show up for work.
Adedipe, who was pursuing a Data Science Masters degree program at the School of Computing and Communications at Lancaster University, was engaged in his summer work placement at the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology in Oxfordshire at the time of his death.
It was gathered that he showed no sign of illness, and an autopsy will be conducted to uncover the cause of his death.
The family of a young lady has accused a popular restaurant in Lagos of withholding the corpse of their daughter after she slumped and died at work.
According to the family, their daughter passed away while on duty at the restaurant, but they allege that the establishment has refused to release her body to them.
They also claimed that the only information they received from the restaurant was that their daughter fainted and died while trying to dry her wet clothes.
The family has called out the restaurant, accusing them of refusing to disclose the whereabouts of their daughter’s corpse or release it to them.
“She started working at KFC barely two months ago. On Friday last week, she was said to have slumped at about 11 PM. KFC claimed she just screamed and fell while trying to hang her washed clothes. According to them, they rushed her to the hospital, but the first hospital rejected her because of a deposit. It was the second hospital they took her to that pronounced her dead on arrival.
KFC took her body to the morgue without informing her family. And as we speak, they are yet to show the family where they have placed her body. Even the police have refused to disclose the location to the family.
We suspect that they are attempting to cover up something. We don’t believe she just fell like that. KFC claimed she screamed and fell, but they didn’t inform her family who lives nearby. They took her to the hospital and still didn’t notify her relatives.
She died, and they took her body to the mortuary without informing her family. They immediately went to the Festac police station to make an entry without informing the family.
It was the police who later called the family on Saturday afternoon, instructing her mother to come to the station because her daughter had encountered issues at work. However, when the woman arrived there, they reluctantly informed her that her daughter was dead.
She wasn’t sick. In fact, she was perfectly fine and healthy. We suspect electrocution (this is our assumption) because there was a statement made by a policeman to the elder brother. He said, and I quote, ‘Oh, it’s you who electrocuted your sister in Festac.’ She was the only daughter in her family. She started working at KFC after dropping out of nursing school,” a family source said.
A wife has been left devastated after discovering the unflattering things her husband had told his friend about her when they first met.
The 40-year-old woman, identified as Jane Lewis from New Jersey, checked her husband’s phone last month with his permission but was left heartbroken by what she saw.
She discovered messages of her partner bragging to his friend about ‘an ugly chick’ who supposedly wanted him desperately.
In one of the messages, her husband described her as ugly and claimed she was desperate to be with him.
The message read,“She’s an ugly chick who wants me so bad.”
He went on to provide intricate details about their relationship at the time, including the fact that they hadn’t been intimate despite Jane’s willingness to do anything for him.
He also mentioned feeling obligated to “make out with her a little bit” in order to keep Jane happy.
These hurtful messages were sent six years ago, but Jane only discovered them last month, after they had already gotten married in 2021.
He told his friend he moved in with Jane but said he didn’t find her attractive like the ‘hot girls he sees all the time’.
Jack then went on to say that he believed he could get any girl but most ‘hot chicks are stuck up anyway’.
Jane said she immediately confronted her husband, who was embarrassed and made the excuse that he was trying to make himself feel better at the time.
The mother-of-three said her confidence has been shattered, and she admitted that if she had found the messages earlier, she would have considered leaving him.
“I went through his messages to see who he was talking to. Him and his friend don’t text that often so I only had to scroll back about ten messages. ‘I got to one from when we first got together saying he was using me for my money, how ugly I am and he won’t have sex with me.
“It was pretty bad. It was very shocking. I was devastated. He was mortified, he was pretty upset and he apologised. He said he felt bad about himself [at the time] and he wanted to make himself feel better.
“I don’t know how I’ll move on from it. I’m hurt by it. If he asks me a question, I say: “‘I’m not stupid, I’m just ugly”. He calls me beautiful but I don’t believe him. It’s knocked my confidence. I have ugly duckling syndrome. I’ll always think I’m really bad looking.
“I would have left him if I found the messages in the beginning. I have to try to move past it, it’s seven years later and we’re married. If it was someone else who found the messages, I would tell them to leave because if I knew then what I know now I wouldn’t be with him. I wouldn’t have stuck through so many things.” She said.
The couple met when Jane was working at a grocery store where Jack was a regular customer.
She says that they moved in together almost immediately and she thought the relationship was going well at the time Jack sent the messages.

“I thought we had a nice relationship. I don’t understand any of it. He was so nice to me and appreciative of everything I did. He was all round pretty kind. Nigerian comedian, Emmanuel Iwueke popularly known as Craze clown, has recounted his conversation with his friend’s brother who didn’t know what a travel visa is.
Crazeclown, in a post shared via Twitter, disclosed that he was having a chat with his friend’s brother about a travel visa but he had no idea what it was despite having travelled across Europe and North America.
He said the more he tried explaining what a visa is to his friend’s brother, the more he got confused that people needed a ‘sticker’ to travel to another country.

Popular Nollywood actor, Adewale Alebiosu, has refuted the belief that actors are adequately compensated for their roles in films.
This comes after actress Jaiye Kuti’s Instagram video, where she criticized the trend of veteran actors resorting to begging for financial help on social media.
Kuti cautioned her older colleagues against tarnishing the reputation of the Yoruba film industry and accused them of not planning for their future during their younger days.
Responding to Kuti’s comments in a video making the rounds online, Alebiosu asserted that the accusation was unfounded, citing instances where actors are often underpaid.
To support his argument, he shared a personal experience. Alebiosu recounted a time when he was paid a mere N3,000 for 11 scenes in a movie.
According to him, it was just a few days till Christmas, and he had hoped to earn enough to support his family.
He stated that after getting the N3,000, he boarded a bus and cried uncontrollably till he arrived home.

A 22-year-old man, identified as Obinna Ugochukwu, has been arrested by the Imo State Police command for allegedly stabbing his friend to death.
According to the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Okoye, Ugochukwu was arrested following a case of murder that was reported at the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (SCIID).
Parading the suspect before newsmen, Okoye revealed that Command’s Forensic Experts conducted an analysis that led to the arrest of the suspect, who hails from Ikeduru LGA of Imo State.
Okoye said in the course of the investigation, the suspect confessed to stabbing his friend Nwachukwu Stanley ‘m, who hails from Umuoma in Ikeduru L.G.A. of Imo State, repeatedly with a sharp knife on the upper part of his body when asleep over a misunderstanding that he failed to give him his cut of 3000 dollars they fraudulently gained in a cyber-crime deal.
The police spokesperson further revealed that the corpse of the victim has been deposited in the morgue, while the suspect will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
In other news, three suspected kidnappers have been reportedly struck dead by lightning in Oro Ago, an agrarian community in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara State.

It was gathered that the victims of the lightning strike were suspected members of an eight-man kidnapping gang that reportedly operated in Iwo, Osun State, about two weeks ago.
Speaking on the incident, the state police Commissioner, CP Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, noted that the command has initiated an investigation into the incident.
The CP added that the veracity of the incident would be determined after a thorough investigation had been conducted.
