Kandie tried to access the house but Murunga and Roki got out and attacked her. The fracas attracted mob who then smashed window panes, damaged Murunga’s car and threatened to burn the lovers.

It because of this that the singer’s marital status and love life has been under speculation for a quite a while now – the “Made For You” crooner has now come out to say that he won’t reveal the identity of his partner until his wedding day.
On the latest episode of “Da Chat” on HFTV, he revealed that he felt no undue pressure to be married simply because everyone else is, he also maintained that he would keep the identity of his partner hidden till the wedding day.
Banky is quoted as saying:
“Until I walk down the aisle with somebody, I’m never going to talk about somebody that I’ve been with. I don’t think it’s fair to the person because you open that person up. Me, I can take the criticism and the comments on the internet and all of that stuff but somebody else that isn’t in that limelight doesn’t necessarily ask for that kind of criticism and backlash and slander and all of that and it’s tough to take for somebody that is not used to it so I don’t think it’s fair.”
The singer also spoke on his relationship with his label artiste, Niyola, his thought that he would have been married by now, amongst other things.
A senior secondary student has accused a police inspector attached to the Mkpat Enin Police Division in Akwa Ibom State of raping her severally at gunpoint.
The ugly incident reportedly took place on Thursday as the 15 year old girl was returning from church, a police team accosted her and the accused inspector pointed his gun at her, saying if she tried to stop him from touching her he would shoot her.
The girl who spoke to PUNCH stated that the inspector then led her away from other members of the team to a dark portion of the road.
The policeman then forcefully caressed her breasts, saying “smally you possess these types of breasts”, she said.
She added:
“After he had forced me to remove my clothes, he ordered me to lie down and open my legs. And what I noticed was that he brought out his penis and inserted it into my vagina.
“As he was romping over me, he forbade me crying as he threatened to shoot me if I should open my mouth.
“But when I could not bear the pains any longer as blood was running out of my private part, he quickly took me into the vehicle and drove to the station, where he detained me from Thursday till Saturday.
“It was my uncle, Dr. Ime Stephen that came from Abuja and bailed me out with N10,000,” she said.
Asked of her mother, she told the publication that she did not know her mom, who left her dad when she was a toddler.
Her dad on the other hand became paralyzed after he fell from a palm tree, and ended up living with her in her uncle’s house.
Her uncle, Stephen, who said the inspector in question was a prosecutor, explained that he could not believe his eyes when the girl pointed at the policeman as the one who raped her from among those who were on duty on that day.
He said,
“The inspector for pointing a gun he was given on trust at a girl of 15 before raping her, lacks the characters of police officers who are meant to protect lives and property of Nigerians.
“He is a fraud by also taking the girl into the police custody for three days and collected N10,000 as bail sum from the girl’s guardian.
“We call for his dismissal from the force so that he can be prosecuted accordingly.”

Ph.D candidate in Oxford University, United Kingdom, and a member of Premium Times editorial board, Zainab Usman, has narrated her ordeal on the recent Nice terrorist attack.
She disclosed that she walked away from the target of the attack 10 minutes before Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhle, the crazed ISIS trucker deliberately drove a cargo truck into crowds celebrating Bastille Day on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France, killing 85 people and injuring 303.
“I am one of the lucky ones who had left the Promenade just minutes before the incident,” Ms Usman wrote on Sunday on her blog.
Read the excerpt of her story as shared on her blog and on Facebook.
“I am in a large crowd walking on one of the adjacent streets, at the main city square, Place Massena, heading home, when we see people running from the Promenade, spilling into the square.
“It is frantic. Chaotic. Nothing like I have ever seen. Mothers grab their children. Friends disperse. The crowd sways and moves in all directions, with a collective look of sheer terror. Something is happening. We don’t know what it is. No one knows.
“My Brazilian classmate pulls my arm and urges me to run. I just had a new, ‘revolutionary’ hairdo. It feels heavy and is dragging me behind. Nevertheless, I run into one of the backstreets. Holding my hair with one hand, my handbag with the other, like a cartoon character, feeling scared and ridiculous at the same time.
““We stop. It feels surreal. We actually manage to crack a little laughter amidst all the confusion. We, at least I thought it might have been a false scare. There had been a bomb scare just the week before, a few meters away from my apartment, and the entire area, a 200m radius, had to be cordoned off. No one knows what is happening. Then we start running again. We hear what sounds like gunshots.
Now I’m really scared. I imagine gunmen shooting into the crowd. We run, until I get home, and my classmates disperse.“I am stunned and dazed. Several minutes later, I start receiving phone calls, text messages and emails from my closest friends who knew I was (and still am in Nice for about two weeks now for a summer French course) checking to find out if I was okay. It feels surreal.
“Afterwards, I switch on the TV and check the internet, and gradually realise the gravity of what is happening, and what a close shave I had. As the night wears on, and gives in to daybreak, the details of the terrorist attack emerge. The death toll climbs higher. From ‘dozens’ and ‘twenties’ to fifty, sixty, seventy and eighty. I am more stunned the more I realise how lucky I am to have left that area immediately after the ‘feu d’artifice’ (fireworks display).
“I get to my French language school at 09.00hrs, thankfully, a three minute walk from where I live. The mood is sombre. Many people did not show up. There is no way of knowing if they are safely hiding at home or if they are missing and are among the injured and the dead. People are huddled in corners, crying, shivering, in shock. An American girl is shaking like a leaf. Her face is wet and red. She wants to go back home. Her justified hysteria makes me emotional. The school authorities console us, urge us to be strong, give us precautionary advice. Many people were at the fireworks display. 14 July, was Bastille Day, a national holiday feted by all, which had turned to a national tragedy.
“At mid-day, I go out to buy lunch and grab a newspaper at the city centre, close to the school, and about 15 minutes’ walk from the scene of the attack. The mood is sombre. Most stores are closed. People look downcast, most remain indoors, rightfully so. It is different from the vibrant Nice that is full of life, color, elegance and well-dressed, good looking and tanned people. An otherwise sunny and bustling city is enveloped in an unmistakable blanket of greyness.
“I stay indoors the whole day. Feeling more stunned but surprisingly neither afraid nor hysterical. I can’t believe how lucky I am. As the day wears on, a numbness and heaviness in my heart persists, realising those people who were not so fortunate were in so many ways like me.
“Sometimes I want to cry, but I don’t. The story would have been different if I had stayed at the Promenade for just 10 minutes longer, or if I had decided to walk up a few meters to the famous Hotel Negresco. So close. This realisation gnaws at me still.”

An Edo High Court on Monday sentenced three people to death by hanging over the murder of a three-year-old girl.
The convicts, Betty Stephen, the stepmother, and the two teachers- Johnson Ogbeide and Nancy Aiwuyor, committed the offence on February 24, 2009, at Erhiborhibo village, Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo, NAN reports.
The judge, Justice Geraldine Imadegbelo, in her judgment said the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt. She said the prosecution proved that the stepmother gave the three-year-old girl to Ogbeide, who in turn handed over the baby to his colleague, Aiwuyor, to be sold for ritual purposes.
Reviewing the evidence placed before her, the judge said the child was left in the custody of her stepmother by her parents who went to farm on the day the child was killed.
“When the victim’s parents returned, they could not find the child, only for the stepmother to confess that she stole the child to the two other convicts,” she said.
The judge also said that the prosecution established that the victim was sold for N1.5 million, her nine fingers cut off, her hair shaved as directed for the ritual.
According to judge:
“seven years after the victim disappeared in the hands of the convicts without being found, the court was safe to hold that the child was dead.
“The acts of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd accused persons which caused the death of the deceased were unlawful,” Mrs. Imadegbelo said.
The court also sentenced the convicts to 14-year jail term each for the offence of child stealing.

Daniel O was about his business on Instagram when he bumped into one of Nigeria’s finest artiste, Sean Tizzle’s photos and he saw something… really interesting.
When Sean Tizzle was still “bright”
He made a keen observation on the skin colour of the artiste which is totally different from what it used to be – recall that months back, photos were brought to you of the singer’s amazing transformation, how he went from dark to fair after he came into limelight.
When Sean Tizzle was still “bright”
Well, it looks like, the singer has ran out of cream, as photos of himself that he’s been sharing on instagram doesn’t look like what he used to look like!
One of the captions of one of his photos, read “What do you mean the money is not ready?!” and Daniel gave me a hard laugh when he said that’s probably the cause of his colour transformation.
You just might agree with us as we share with you side by side photos of the singer’s skin tone below:

Heat of the moment from the YBNL stables, Adekunle Gold has unveiled the art work for his debut album, Gold, that’s set to be released on July 28, 2016.
What caught our attention the most was that the 16-track album has only one artiste featured, and it’s none other than his ‘boo’, stunning singer, Simi who also mixed and mastered most of the songs on the yet to be released album.
The album art which was designed by the singer himself, with the photographs taken by TY Bello is a detailed piece of work that creates an imagery of what is to be expected from the album.
While many are seeing absolutely nothing wrong with it, others are outrageous with the act.

A South African sportsman, Gugu Zulu, while trying to summit Kenya’s Mount Kilimanjaro to mark Mandela Day has reportedly died while trying.
A statement from the Nelson Mandela Foundation said details are “sketchy” but that it appeared Gugu Zulu had problems breathing early Monday as his group tried to reach Africa’s highest peak.
“We are informed that the medical teams tried everything possible to save his life” as they tried to descend, the statement said.
The foundation said the athlete was part of a Trek4Mandela team hoping to summit to mark Mandela’s birthday, a day of volunteer service in South Africa. Authorities said they were climbing in support of girls from disadvantaged communities.

A bride’s special day was left in disarray after the hotel CEILING caved in at her wedding reception.
The best man at Emily and Gary Parkin’s nuptials had a very near miss after the roof collapsed on his head.
Neil Parkin was left stunned after falling debris brought an abrupt end to his brother Gary’s big day, the Daily Record reports.
The 27-year-old looked on as Gary and Emily cut the cake at the Queen’s Hotel, in Dundee, on Saturday. But after a cluster of celebratory balloons were released, the ceiling came crashing down around guests in the ground floor reception room.
He said:
“I got plastered but not the way I wanted. I’ve still got a sore head and am a bit dizzy.
“I was outside taking a family portrait when I heard they were cutting the cake.
“I came back in and they had only just cut the cake when I got a smack on the back of the head.”
Gary’s dad Bill said:
“A fragmented slab of concrete came down from the floor above. I was at the bar but heard Neil had been hurt. I came in and saw him sitting as white as a ghost.
“We’d only been in the place 40 minutes – it was only just beginning to fill up. They’re both understandably gutted. The day was ruined by half past eight.”
Wife of U.S Presidential aspirant, Donald Trump, Melania Trump has put herself on a hot seat, after she plagiarized Michelle Obama‘s speech.
At the Republican National Convention on Monday night, Melanie plagiarized Michelle Obama’s speech to the Democratic National Convention in 2008.
Side-by-side comparisons of the transcripts show the text in Trump’s address following, nearly to the word, the first lady’s own from the first night of the Democratic convention in Denver nearly eight years ago.
The controversy quickly overshadowed the speech, which was to have been her introduction to voters. It focused on her immigration to the US and her love for her husband.
Melania Trump, Republican National Convention 2016:
“From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise; that you treat people with respect. They taught and showed me values and morals in their daily life.
That is a lesson that I continue to pass along to our son, and we need to pass those lessons on to the many generations to follow.
Because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and willingness to work for them.”
Michelle Obama, Democratic National Convention 2008:
“…And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you’re going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don’t know them, and even if you don’t agree with them.
And Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values, and pass them on to the next generation. Because we want our children—and all children in this nation—to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.”
Earlier in the day, Melania Trump told NBC’s Matt Lauer:
“I read once over it, that’s all, because I wrote it … with (as) little help as possible.”
What is really going with our dear outspoken on air personality?? What could have prompted these apologies?? Is he alright??
These are the questions on everyone’s lips when few moments ago, controversial on air personality, Daddy Freeze, took to his IG page to tender apologies to those he wrote nasty stuffs about in the past.
We really don’t know why he did it though, all he did was apologize. He sought the forgiveness of comedian, Basketmouth, TB Joshua, two ladies who he had a clash with after they dissed him, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Coza and Festus Keyamo.
A Brazilian woman has been accused of pedophilia on Facebook after a video of her twerking with a toddler went viral on the platform.
The clip of the athletic woman twerking with the laughing tot was shot in Rio de Janeiro before it was shared online. It remains unclear as to whether the woman in the video is the boy’s mother, however many viewers have taken that as face value – and made their shock clear.
The short videos show the young woman bent over with her son in a nappy hugging her from behind and laughing as she twerks.
The little boy moves his hips back and forth as he imitates her.
She’s certainly one of those celebrities who wouldn’t let a mirror pass them by unless they’ve taken a selfie with it and truth be told, she knows how to take em.
The beautiful media personality, who turned a year older few weeks ago, looks delectable as she dons a black and yellow floral print dress and a stunning golden hair.
You can’t be best friends with someone and not occasionally have a quarrel with them – it part of what defines the relationship, it’s what helps in making the relationship better, so you can sort out your differences and all.
Ghanaian actor and actress, John Dumelo and Yvonne Nelson, who are known to be best of friends(as they claim), had a quarrel for almost a year over politics.
This was after Yvonne begun a protest against shabby power supply in Ghana – a move Dumelo wasn’t in support of, which caused their fight. She deleted and blocked him on social media.
Moments ago, the beautiful actress, shared a video and photo of the both of them as they even shared a kiss. She wrote:
Even Politics couldn’t break us #bestfriend?
Yeah well, we’re back to their P.D.A which we can’t get enough of!
Beautiful songstress, Emma Nyra, who just dropped a hot new single, was a year older yesterday, and to celebrate, the beauty shared these stunning new photos.

He shared photos of the both of them when things were going good and the man in the hospital after the attack, and wrote,
“Beware of whom you choose to be with. This is what a jealous girlfriend did to her boyfriend. Simply because she heard a rumour that he impregnated someone. Without finding out from the guy, She came to visit him on that evil day to pretend to pass the night. At midnight when he was asleep. She woke up, bleached red oil and poured it on the guy’s face and body. Then she ran away. She is nowhere to found. What a wicked heart. This is not tell me I tel you. I know them and I have seen them together having fun, playing, smiling and even eating together.”
A security guard of a public school in Lagos, Adeniyi Primary School, Itire, has shocked everyone with his criminal acts.
The 40-year-old man allegedly raped an eight-year-old pupil on the school premises. He has however been arrested for the act.
According to Punch Metro, the suspect, Friday Oshoba, aka Mopol, committed the alleged crime while the primary 2 pupil, Mercy (pseudonym), was waiting for her sister to pick her up after the school closed around 2pm.
Oshoba was said to have persuaded her to follow him to a deserted spot within the school and removed her underwear. He reportedly raped her afterwards.
It was gathered that a class five pupil, identified only as Bukola, who was sent on an errand by a schoolteacher, caught the guard in the act and reported to the teacher.
It was learnt that Mercy, on getting home, recounted the incident to her parents. An uncle of the girl followed her to the school the following day and reported the matter to the head teacher.
The head teacher was said to have invited policemen from the Itire division, leading to Oshoba’s arrest.
Mercy, in her statements to the police, said, “I was in the school on May 11 at about 2pm when Mopol (Oshoba) called me to a place on the school premises. He removed my underwear and put his thing (manhood) inside my bum-bum. Bukola, who is in primary five, saw us and reported to her teacher. I also told my daddy when I got home.”
The suspect, an indigene of Ekpoma, Edo State, denied raping the girl, saying he did not know her name. Oshoba was, however, silent in his statement on whether he took Mercy to any spot as alleged.
He said,
“The girl is one of our pupils in Adeniyi Primary School.
“I did not know her name, but I know she is in Primary two. I did not do anything with her. I was married, but my wife left me and I don’t have any child.”
However, a social worker at the Mirabel Centre, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, where medical examinations were carried out on the victim, said Mercy had bruises in her private parts.
The worker, who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said, “The result of the test conducted on the girl shows that she had bruises and fresh lacerations on her hymen. These suggest that the suspect forcefully penetrated her private parts as she claimed.”
Oshoba was subsequently brought before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court by a police prosecutor, Francisca Job, on one count of rape.
The charge read, “That you, Friday Oshoba, on May 11, 2016, at about 2pm, at Adeniyi Primary School, Itire, Lagos State, in the Apapa Magisterial District, did defile an eight-year-old girl… thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.”
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge. The presiding magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Adegbite, admitted him to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has claimed that he still has the overwhelming support of the Nigerian people despite the hard times the country is going through.
The President made this known during an interview with African Leadership, an African Magazine.
“Yes, I was elected by an overwhelming majority of Nigerians, and I am ever grateful for the opportunity I have been given to serve.
“However, I don’t consider the result of the so-called survey a slip in my public rating and acceptance. I appreciate the high expectations of Nigerians and as an administration we are working assiduously to deliver.
“We came in with a mantra of Change and the zeal to give a new lease of life to governance. Our zeal has remained the same and we are always prepared to make the difference.
“You will recall that when I was being sworn in, I emphasized that as a government, three key areas will be the priorities. The first is the need to rebuild the economy. I also pledged to fight insecurity while the third and equally important area is the fight against corruption.
“Nigeria will soon be back on track. Before now, we have been having sleepless nights in Nigeria with Boko Haram having field days in tormenting people, most especially in the North-Eastern part of the country. So far, we have shown resilience in stopping these people and yet many criticize the approach we are using.
“What I think our people should know is that a process of change is difficult as it requires endurance and patience. China, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and other great Asian countries had at different times passed through processes of change. They are far better off today.
“And some of these countries were at par with Nigeria in terms of development some five decades ago. We are attempting to do the same here to say let us stop building individuals, let us stop making those who serve in government get stupendously wealthy at the expense of ordinary Nigerians they had sworn to serve.
“Rather, we should concentrate on building strong institutions. Let us introduce economic prosperity by bringing on more investors to catalyze a sense of competition to grow our economy. Let there be law and order in our ways” the President said.
He however asked Nigerians, to “continue to exercise patience and let them know that we will not rest on our oars until we bring succor back to them and to the country. From our efforts so far.”
