Star School Basket Ball Player Arrested | Facing Deportation After Reducing Age By A Decade.
A star school basketball player has been thrown behind bars after he was discovered to be 10 YEARS older than his classmates.
Jonathan Nicola, 29, lied about his age when he arrived in Canada on a student visa from South Sudan before enrolling in a school in Windsor, Ontario.
According to Daily News, he claimed to be 16 and starred for the school basketball team but has now been exposed and is facing deportation.
Nicola was caught out by his own fingerprint after he attempted to apply for another visa.
He is being held in custody in Windsor and faces a date with an immigration review board on Tuesday.

Orezi Finally Responds To Claims That He Slept With Another Man’s Wife
Orezi has finally responded to the recent accusations that he had slept with another man’s wife.
Recall we brought you reports about a certain man who confronted Orezi for sleeping with his wife while the singer was exiting his show and even threatened to beat him up.
Now, Orezi’s management has released a statement, shutting down the allegations.
According to them, the singer thought he was being pranked the whole time till the man tried to beat him up.

60-year-old Ibadan Woman Arrested For Buying Five Babies For N5 Million
A 60-year-old woman, Asabi Adebayo, has been arrested by the police in Oyo State for allegedly buying five babies at N5million from Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.
The suspect, who planned to fly the babies abroad for sale, was said to have brought them to an orphanage in Ibadan to obtain a certified police report for them when the bubble burst.
Commissioner of Police Leye Oyebade, who paraded the suspect and the babies yesterday at the Eleyele Police Headquarters, said the woman would have escaped if not for the patriotic behavior of the officials of the orphanage, who reported the matter at the Iyaganku Police Station.
The suspect, who said she hailed from Lagos State, is also a British citizen.
The ages of the babies, (two boys and three girls) range from two years, eight months, seven months, six months and four months.
The babies have been taken to the Ministry of Women Affairs, Child Welfare; the suspect is assisting the police in their investigation.
The police commissioner said officers, who accompanied the suspect to Port-Harcourt where she claimed to have bought the babies, have not been able to apprehend the sellers.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Iyaganku, Mr Ojopagogo, said: “ A woman, who operates an orphanage came to our station last Thursday and reported to us that a 60-year-old woman came to them that she had five children and that she needed police report for the children to be flown abroad .
“Our detectives, led by a Superintendent of Police (SP) from the Juvenile Welfare Section, went to arrest the suspect.
“After her arrest, the suspect told us that she got the children for N5million and that she bought the children from a woman in Port-Harcourt. We travelled with the suspect to Port-Harcourt, unfortunately we could not find the woman.”
Also paraded were three young men- Ganiyu Taiwo (29) a meat seller, Adam Adeleke (20) furniture maker and Ayuba Jubril (19) –who confessed to breaking into a girls’ hostel, stealing phones, laptops and other valuables at Oke-Ogun Poly, Saki, Oyo State.
Others were two robbery suspects- Tunde Adeniyi (32) Aluminum doors dealer and Solomon Ajibesin 22. They were arrested in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
A bricklayer, Femi Adeyemi, a father of three, confessed to robbing his boss of his car. A man, Taiwo Samson, who bought a stolen Range Rover, was also paraded.
Another man, Daramola Adewale, 34, a food stuff seller, was paraded for threatening to post nude pictures of his girlfriend online, if she failed to pay him N50,000.

But the same cannot be said of Oluwatobi Akanbi, a 12-year-old rapper who boasts the courage of an adult.
Naij’s correspondent was in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital for the ongoing National Drums Festival, when this young chap was made to perform on stage.
With the traditional Adire outfit on a pair of jeans trousers, the youngster whose stage name is T-rapper, not just dazzled the teeming audience, but was also spontaneous in some of his remarks.
After the performance, Naij’s correspondent caught up with him and had a brief interview with him. He was also asked to do a freestyle on the spot.
Master Akanbi, who said that he has been rapping since he was six, also called out popular award-winning Nigerian artist, Olamide aka Badoo, stating that he could match the finesse of the ‘street’ rapper, although his ultimate goal remains having a collabo with the Eyan Mayweather crooner.

See what happened to oil prices after Buhari visited China
President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent visit to the East Asian economic giant China has been widely hailed as a success, with the president signing several major agreements on economic cooperation.
According to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s governor Godwin Emefiele, our country will even start exporting goods to China, in addition to the crude oil exports that are so crucial to Nigeria’s economy.
The news of increased business links with China comes as the Naira continues to enjoy a period of stability on the parallel market, with the national currency continuing to trade at N319 against the US Dollar and N448 against British Pounds Sterling.
The president’s economic mission has also had an effect on the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) reference basked price, which presents a weighted average price of the oil produced by each member state.
As you can see below, the OPEC basket price has risen over recent days, continuing its recent trend of slow but steady growth.
This is excellent news for Nigeria which remains so dependent on crude oil exports, here’s hoping that this trend will continue!

Six Years On: Dagrin Remains In Our Hearts…
One week after giving an energetic performance at Sigma Club Havana Concert at the University of Ibadan, in 2010 – Oladapo Olaitan ‘Dagrin’ Olaonipekun died from injuries sustained in a ghastly motor accident on his way back from the event.
He died on April 22, 2010. He was just 22 years old, but his unique style of rap music was already very popular.
In the early hours of April 14, 2010 Dagrin had been involved in a lone accident, colliding with a stationary articulated vehicle in front of Alakara Police Station, off Agege Motor Road, Mushin, Lagos.
Before he gave up the ghost, he had first been treated at Tai Solarin Hospital, Mushin but was later transferred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba, where doctors declared him dead after efforts to save his life failed.
Though he lived a short life, his style of indigenous rap is still influencing the Nigerian music scene. Artistes like Olamide, lil Kesh, Phyno, Reminisce and many others are some of the best examples of Dagrin’s influence on the Nigerian music scene.

Finally, Seyi Shay has given some sort of explanation on why she keeps making those mind-boggling slip-ups, and she says it’s all for fun.
Recall that the singer was featured in yet another embarrassing interview where she said, EP stands for ‘Electric Package.’ In January, she pronounced the number ‘two’ as /tuwooh/, and in a new interview with DZPRT, she said the slang Phoneh is drawn from the word ‘Phoney’, not ‘Phonetics’. The legendary, iconic, Prince has passed away. He was 57-years-old.

His body was found at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota early Thursday morning.
He had been battling the flu for the past week, but last appeared at a concert on April 16th to assure fans he was doing better.
The singer — full name Prince Rogers Nelson — had a medical emergency on April 15th that forced his private jet to make an emergency landing in Illinois. But he appeared at a concert the next day to assure his fans he was okay. His people told TMZ he was battling the flu.
At the show, Prince prophetically told the crowd, “Wait a few days before you waste any prayers.”
Prior to his most recent appearance however, Prince had cancelled two shows due to health concerns.
Prince became an international superstar in 1982 after his breakthrough album “1999.”
He went on to churn out a ton of hits — and racking up 7 Grammys in the process. He also performed at the Super Bowl in 2007 … in one of the greatest live performances of all time.
He also sold more than 100 million records during his career … and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song Score for Purple Rain in 1985.
Prince was married two times — the first time to his backup dancer Mayte Garcia. They split in 2000. He then married Manuela Testolini … but they split in 2006.
He was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, and performed a legendary version of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” to close the ceremony.

Nigerian University students are known for their usage of certain words exclusively understood by them. Listed are some of those words.
There are many words in mainstream Nigerian English that started out as university student slang words but are now in general use in Nigeria.
In fact, many people don’t recognize these words and their meanings as nonstandard.

Paralympian superstar Oscar Pistorius struck his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp with a cricket bat before he shot her dead, it has been claimed.
The 29-year-old claimed during his trial that he shot the model by mistake through the toilet door, then battered the door down using the bat.
However a new investigation carried out by forensic expert brothers Calvin and Thomas Mollett claims to explain two wounds on Reeva’s back.

UNIZIK Students Make Mini Bus From Local Materials. (Photo)
Seven final-year engineering students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, designed and constructed a mini bus from scratch with locally sourced materials.
The group, known as the Autozik Group, was made up of six males and a female including Callistus Ezeigwe, Victor Obinani, Ifeanyi Ezeanolue, Ogbu Ikenna, Fidelis Ominigbo, Nnamdi Nwobodo and Chinaza Okoro, was supervised by the then Head of Mechanical Engineering department, Dr. C.H. Achebe.
“We made the mini bus using mere hand tools. This means we did all of the constructions and folding, with our hands, since the university could not provide us with ground equipment, as used in most automobile companies,” said Ezeugwu.
The mini bus which took about five months to complete, has a beautiful finishing so that people find it difficult to believe it was made in Nigeria.
