A Nigerian lady, identified as Chinyere Awuda, has been beaten to death by fun seekers in a club in Awka, Anambra State.

It was gathered that Chinyere was lynched for allegedly picking money that was being sprayed for a celebrant at the club located inside Cosmila Hotel in Awka.

The sad incident reportedly occurred last Saturday, July 16. The lady, who hailed from Nnobi in Idemmili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, was found dead in the abandoned swimming pool of the hotel on Sunday morning, where she was dumped after being lynched.

According to Daily Post, one of the clubbers accused her of picking money that the fun seekers were spraying on their friend, who was a birthday celebrant.

A popular clubber, Mr. Gabriel, is alleged to have started the attack on Chinyere before his friends joined in.

“One of the clubbers accused her of picking money that the fun seekers were spraying on their friend, who was a birthday celebrant.

“Some others said she did not only pick money but also went for bundles of money that a clubber had stacked by his seat side, waiting to spray on the celebrant,” Daily Post quoted a source as saying.

It was learned that despite efforts made by other people in the club to rescue Chinyere, they continued to beat and molest her until she passed away.

She was later dragged outside the club, and her lifeless body was dumped into the hotel’s abandoned swimming pool.

Confirming the incident, Anambra State Police Spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the birthday celebrant and his friends were already in police custody while the case is being investigated.

Student allegedly beaten by course mates for covering booklet in exam hall (Video)

A male student has allegedly been viciously attacked by his classmates after he refused to allow cheating during an exam.

The event was captured in a video, which has now gone viral on the internet.

According to eyewitness testimony and the viral video, the victim, whose identity has not been revealed, was taking his exam when his classmates sitting nearby attempted to copy from his answer booklet.

Refusing to sacrifice his integrity, the brave student covered his answer booklet, preventing anyone from stealing his hard work.

The scenario swiftly deteriorated when a number of his irate classmates grew confrontational and demanded that he allow them to duplicate his answers. They resorted to violence as he continued to resist, subjecting him to a brutal physical attack.

The victim can be seen in the disturbing video nursing significant head injuries, reportedly caused by the assailants smashing bottles on his head outside the exam hall.

The incident caused the boy to bleed excessively, with several of his classmates attempting to stop the bleeding while filming the terrible scene.

According to eyewitnesses, the assailants expressed their dissatisfaction throughout the assault, blaming the victim of failing to perform the “reasonable thing” required of him, which, in their opinion, was helping their academic dishonesty.

Nigerian singer, Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake has narrated an unpleasant encounter in his early days in the music industry after wearing pants to a show.

The ‘Joha’ singer shared this in an interview with the Ginger Yourself podcast, where he described being booed off the stage.

Asake recounted how he decided to wear only pants like the late Fela to perform alongside scantily-clad ladies in an attempt to gain attention and popularity.

Renowned Nigerian investigative journalist, David Hundeyin, has been released after he was detained at Harare Airport in Zimbabwe.

The journalist had taken to his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday night to cry out for help after authorities detained him upon his arrival in the southern African country.

According to him, the officials detained him for entering the country without a visa.

“I landed in Zimbabwe earlier today, and I have been detained at Harare Airport inside a smelly locked room for nearly 7 hours.

“They said that despite using the travel document of a country with a visa-free relationship, my nationality is still Nigerian, and thus, I need a visa.” He wrote on Twitter.

The Guinness World Records has finally reacted to a Nigerian man, Tembu Ebere’s attempt to break its record for the longest crying marathon by an individual.

In a bid to bag the coveted Guinness World Record plaque, like Nigerian chef Hilda Baci, Tembu Ebere embarked on a 100-hour crying marathon.

He started the bizarre attempt on Sunday, July 9, 2023, with the goal of crying continuously for seven days.

However, during the attempt, he suffered partial blindness, but this didn’t deter him as he was bent on achieving his goal. “I had to re-strategize and reduce my wailing,” he said.

Speaking with the BBC, he revealed that he started experiencing severe headaches, puffy eyes, and a swollen face from the constant crying before going temporarily blind for 45 minutes.

Popular Twitter doctor, Olufunmilayo exonerated from sǝxual assault allegations levied against him by his ex-girlfriend

The United Kingdom’s Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service have cleared popular Nigerian Twitter doctor, Olufunmilayo Ogunsanya, of the rape allegations levied against him by his ex-girlfriend, Bolanle Aseyan.

In October 2020, Bolanle took to Twitter to accuse Olufunmilayo of sexually and emotionally abusing her for a long time, stating that she had evidence to support her claims.

Bolanle, who resides in the UK, explained that she refrained from filing charges earlier because it would make him lose his medical license in the UK.

At the time, Olufunmilayo denied the allegation and the case was brought before the UK Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service. After a three-year trial, Olufunmilayo was declared innocent today, July 19.

The Tribunal’s verdict stated that the claims made by Bolanle were “determined but not proven.” Consequently, the tribunal ruled that his fitness to practice as a doctor in the UK remains unaffected.

Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, who also represents Olufunmilayo in Nigeria, took to Twitter this morning to announce the outcome of the tribunal.

Inibehe posted screenshots of the tribunal’s judgment, which exonerated Olufunmilayo. He added that Bolanle is currently facing civil and criminal cases in Nigeria.

Nollywood actress and billionaire wife, Regina Daniels Nwoko, has been appointed as the Social Secretary of the Executive Council of the 10th Assembly Senators’ Wives Forum.

She took to her Instagram page to express her joy and post images from the inauguration and to announce her new role in the organization.

Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, the 19-year-old student who was accused by JAMB of manually manipulating her 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result, has apologized for her crime as she appeared before an ad-hoc committee.

Mmesoma and her attorney were seen in a recent video standing before the House of Representatives Adhoc Committee.

JAMB stated that their database was not hacked and that 109 other applicants had committed identical violations in 2023.

Mmesoma Ejikeme acknowledged falsifying UTME results again, apologized to JAMB, and stated that she committed the offense due to ignorance.

The beleaguered student, who was seen with teary and sad eyes, asked JAMB to reconsider the three-year ban imposed on her for tampering with her JAMB results.

A Nigerian man, Tembu Ebere, has allegedly suffered temporary blindness while attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest crying marathon by an individual.

Tembu Ebere started his cry-a-thon on Sunday, July 9, 2023, with the goal of crying continuously for seven days.

Giving an update on the attempt in an interview with the BBC, Ebere said he began to experience severe headaches, puffy eyes, and a swollen face from the constant crying before going temporarily blind for 45 minutes.

Despite the challenges, Ebere expressed his determination to achieve his goal. “I had to re-strategize and reduce my wailing.” He said.

In other news, Guinness World Records has stated that they had received over 1,500 applications from Nigerians in the past two months.

After chef Hilda Baci broke the record for the longest cooking marathon of an individual a few months ago. many Nigerians have jumped on the thread and applied for various record-breaking activities.

There has been a series of marathon attempts to break one record or the other. There have been longest-reading marathons, kissing marathons, sex marathons, cooking marathons, massaging marathons, and many more.

According to reports, Guinness World Records said that since Hilda Baci’s record, there has been an increase in the number of would-be record breakers from Nigeria, with 1500 applications received.

A Nigerian businessman, Dan Baiwa Gassol, has taken to social media to narrate the trauma he got from his last relationship.

According to him, the lady he was supposed to marry got pregnant by her ex-boyfriend while he was paying her tuition and that situation stuck with him.

He shared this while reacting to comrade Israel Joe’s advice to men to leave their married ex-girlfriends alone and stop reminiscing about their relationship with them.

He wrote;

“A lot of you guys out there should leave your ex-girlfriends who are married alone.
Stop telling them about the memories of your relationship. She needs to focus on her marriage and love her new boyfriend who is now her husbands.

Popular Nollywood actor, Kanayo O Kanayo has taken to social media to suggest that filmmakers use more realistic settings in their films.

He recommended filmmakers to avoid portraying affluent folks in traditional clothes or excessive makeup in everyday settings.

According to the actor, many directors are unaware that their films influence people’s culture and traditions.

Kanayo also observed that affluent individuals frequently dress informally, with their costly watches, sneakers, and T-shirts being more identifiable than traditional clothes.

A Nigerian man identified as Ustaz has taken to social media to provide insight on the deceitful practices of several Nigerian banks concerning the inheritance of cash from deceased bank account holders and the role of next of kin.

According to his revelations, the commonly held idea among Nigerians that the money in the deceased’s accounts immediately passes to the next of kin is false and deceptive.

Instead, he revealed specific Nigerian banks’ questionable activities, asking customers to be prudent and take proactive actions to safeguard their wealth for their loved ones.

Ustaz explained that when a bank account holder passes away, Nigerian banks do not simply hand over the money to the next of kin without proper verification.

He also valuable advice on how to outsmart the banks and ensure that their hard-earned money is rightfully inherited by their loved ones.
