Kenyan police have apprehended a woman who allegedly chopped off her husband’s genitals after a domestic tiff in Mombasa.
The accused, 32-year-old Mrs Pauline Mukiri, was arrested in Kiembein as she planned to flee on Saturday evening, and is being detained at the police station in the district of Bamburi.
“She is being questioned and we hope to arraign her for murder Monday,” Kisauni OCPD Richard Ngatia said.
The unfortunate victim, Mr Alloys Matata, 36, died while receiving treatment at Yeshua Medical Centre in Bamburi.
The dispute ensued when the six-month pregnant woman went to a nearby bar where Matata was having a drink and started a quarrel over his repeated nights out.
Eyewitnesses claim the couple went back home and shortly afterwards they heard the man screaming.
“We found him lying in a pool of blood in one of the rooms,” said a neighbor, Mr Kennedy Kyalo, who took Matata to hospital.
“We know the man is a drunkard. The two quarrel every now and then but the row degenerated into violence today,” Mr Kyalo said.
“The woman has been complaining for the past several days about her husband’s behaviour.”
This is yet another bizarre story to emanate from the East African country after an aggrieved man set his family ablaze over a minor dispute last month.
Recall the couple were recently plagued by divorce rumours. Now it looks like all is well between them.

The best part of having a friend and a wife like you, is that I always have happy days to look forward to. We can never be PERFECT enough to stop anyone from having an opinion about us. Thanks to everyone who gave us reasons to love each other even more.

Nollywood actress, wife and mother, Ireti Osayemi Bakare has revealed why she would never be caught wearing short skirts or skimpy attires except for a movie role.
In a recent chat with Punch Newspaper, Ireti, who was born in Liberia and got into acting after getting her first role in an Emeka Duru movie, said her mother would frown at her outfits when they are too skimpy or small.
“It is because of my background. My mother would never allow you to expose your body. I don’t feel comfortable in them. I would not like a situation whereby I would be sitting down but I would need to pull my skirt down at intervals. I would not want to go through that stress because I would not be comfortable in my own skin. I would rather put on something that I know I am okay in,” the Oro Ana actress disclosed.
The Jenifa actress also disclosed that she dumped modeling and beauty pageant for acting because her mother frowned at such exposure which the industry brings to a female child.

It is fast becoming a full-blown war between rapper Yung6ix’s camp and HKN gang, all thanks to Davido’s relative, the rapper B-Red, who threatened to beat up Yung6ix for unknown reasons.
“I am going to f**k you up,” B-red ranted at Yung6ix, unprovoked. “I will f**k you and your crew up!”
Baddest DJ Timmy
Now, Yung6ix’s close friend & partner, Baddest DJ Timmy, has replied B-Red calling him a failed artiste that he has been reduced to a ‘video vixen’ and ‘back up singer’. And that’s not all.
DJ Timmy shot darts at HKN boss Davido, threatened to leak his secrets and accused him of sleeping with prostitutes.
Davido who yesterday landed Lagos after staying abroad for weeks was prob in a light mood during the week perhaps listening to some Olamide records and wasted no time in declaring the YBNL chief a legend.

Real Madrid’s record goal scorer Christiano Ronaldo, has told reporters that his team-mates at the club are not on his level, after they were beaten 1-0 by city rivals Atletico on Saturday.
Antoine Griezmann scored the only goal of the game in the second half, as Diego Simeone’s men opened up a four-point gap in second place.
Speaking after the game at the Santiago Bernabeu, Ronaldo blamed his team-mates for their miserable title challenge.
“If everyone was as good as me, maybe we would be first,” he declared.
“If a team does not play with the best, it is difficult to win a long competition. I don’t want to insult anyone.
“I do like playing with Karim [Benzema], with [Gareth] Bale, Marcelo, I am not saying that others are not good, for example Danilo has today been the best on the pitch.
“It annoys me that they say that Cristiano has dropped his level, and that is why Madrid have dropped their level,” he said. “If they were all at my level we would be first. You always ask me these crappy questions — it seems that here in Spain, I am in the s—.
“The numbers do not lie. Statistics never trick you — it is easy.”
Ronaldo later clarified his comments by telling Marca that he meant his teammates have not been as injury-free as he has been this season.

Governor of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode yesterday graced the Golden Jubilee Grand reunion of FGC, Warri, his alma mater.
At the event, Ambode said all the knowledge and discipline impacted in him during his secondary school days in the college contributed largely to who he is today, just as he urged his old school mates to come together and ensure the vision of the school was kept alive. The governor said:
“Indeed, my becoming a governor can be attributed to what I gained and learnt from this school. We must come together, all of us to ensure that the vision of the establishment of the school must not die.
So it is a great honour to all of us to return here after decades and celebrate this 50th anniversary. We are benefiting from the vision planted years ago.
I want to assure the principal that we are going to bring back the good old days of this school. I wish all the students well and pray that you all be better and more successful than all of us here today.
I like to say a big welcome to seniors and juniors. One great thing about this school is that no matter what you become in life your senior remains your senior.”
Besties, Yvonne Nelson and John Dumelo have finally decided to bury the hatchet. They cannot be separated. The two are back together, and what ever divided their strong bond doesn’t exist no more.
Recall that last May, the former best friends who many people, on many occasions assumed were dating, got into a very public and messy fight during the #DumsorMustStop campaign championed by the actress.
Yvonne had accused John of kissing their president’s ass and refusing to join the campaign against the inadequate supply of electricity in Ghana, and John fired back at her on Twitter.
The two besties dragged themselves on the social media platform, and the feud was so messy that they both deleted all their intimate memories from their social media platforms.
But the former best friends have offered each other the olive branch. Yesterday, at an event in Ghana, the stars stepped out together and event recorded a clip together.
Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe days ago marked his 92nd birthday at a $1.1 million party organised by his supporters.
This party has however drawn criticism from his opponents who said the celebrations in the drought-stricken country was an affront to his countrymen. Mr Mugabe, Africa’s oldest leader, turned 92 on February 21 and thousands of his party supporters gathered to pay tribute to the country’s only leader since independence from Britain in 1980.
He has shown no intention of stepping down. Mr Mugabe, who was accompanied by his wife, Grace, and their children, released 92 balloons and sat listening to poetry readings, songs and chants by supporters hailing him as an African icon and a visionary.
A giant cake made to look like the ancient ruins for which Zimbabwe is named was set out in a nearby marquee. School children, foreign diplomats, government ministers and security chiefs were also present.
Pupurai Togarepi, ZANU-PF’s youth leader said 50,000 people were expected to attend and defended spending $1.1 million on the birthday celebrations.
Money is not the issue here. You cannot put a price on the contribution of President Mugabe to the history and development of this nation. All these things are worth more than money,” Mr Togarepi told Reuters.
The opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) however called the celebrations “obscene”. They said:
“The obscenity of this particular exercise is that he throws this bash not just based on public funds… but he does it in one of the worst-affected drought-stricken parts of the country.
ZANU-PF should be utterly ashamed of hosting an expensive birthday bash for their aging ruler whilst more than 90 per cent of Zimbabweans are wallowing in grinding poverty caused by decades of Robert Mugabe’s misrule and mismanagement of the economy.
The money that is being budgeted for this ill-conceived birthday bash should actually be used to import maize to avert the impending starvation in Masvingo province and other parts of the country.”
Critics blame Mr Mugabe for many of the problems facing the country.
Cool FM On Air Personality, Daddy Freeze just shared the below post on his instagram page and he’s asking why Ayodele Daniel Dada who graduated with a perfect CGPA of 5.0 wasn’t as celebrated as bread seller turned model, Olajumoke Orisaguna.
Read:
‘POVERTY MENTALITY’
When are Nigerians going to celebrate real achievements?
On the left is Mr. Ayodele Daniel Dada the first Nigerian to finish university with a perfect CGPA of 5.0 and on the left is Mrs. Olajumoke Orisaguna a ‘former’ bread seller.
Before Ayodele, no one had ‘EVER’ finished with a perfect CGPA in UNILAG!!! Since it was established in 1962, he made history by becoming the first to achieve such a commendable feat!
Now, so many questions come to mind. How come my dear friend Kunbi of ‘April with Kunbi’ hasn’t styled him or recommended him for styling? How come CNN hasn’t done a story on him? How come his life isn’t documented on blogs daily? How come he isn’t a brand ambassador for any product?
The questions are ceaseless.
Ciara put up a post of an equally beautiful traffic hawker selling some type of fruit yesterday and she was described, in Ciara’s own words as ‘beautiful and talented’. If these two ‘hawker beauties’ were discovered less than 2 months apart, it means that beautiful girls that hawk commodities aren’t in short supply in Lagos.
While people who finish with with a 5.0 CGPA are almost non existent! It took 54 years to produce the first one!
While Olajumoke and this other lady are rough stones that could be polished to achieve a lustrous shine, Ayodele is a true jewel, a rare yellow diamond in its truest and purest form.
Let’s not let our ‘poverty mentality’, that makes things of lesser importance seem valuable, cloud our judgement. I have no objection to polishing stones to bring out their shine, but please let’s not do it at the expense of gems of inestimable value!
The outcome of our future depends largely on ‘what’ or ‘whom’ we invest in. If Japan, Switzerland or America invested their time and money in pretty bread sellers, we won’t have the brains behind their automotive, aeronautic, horological or financial achievements today.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t celebrate Olajumoke o! Before people call me a hater but like hell we must celebrate Ayodele first! Just my thought on a Saturday evening~FRZ
When we were younger, there were some funny things we did and now that I think about it, we had some crazy funny reasons for doing them. We somehow believed that these things helped us one way or the other.
1. Writing your name in your pen so that it doesn’t get stolen
It eventually got stolen most times but well, we kept writing.
2. Throwing your teeth on top of the roof for a lizard to pick
Because if you don’t throw your teeth, no teeth from father Lizard.
3. Waving at doves for white fingers
Leke leke, give me white finger.
4. Removing strands of your eyelashes and putting them at the door for your punishable offense to be forgotten
Until you hear your name and the next thing is a slap in your face
5. Reshape the bottle cap, put it inside the bottle and shake it
Because somehow we were convinced that the drink increased when we did that.
P Square has a format which works for them when they are about to release a new album.
It’s like Kanye West. Create a controversy and get people talking.
Consistently, through the years, the brothers have used this format which works for them very well. It doesn’t matter if the controversies created hurt their personal image. It’s all about the image and the money and that never fails to flow.
So, it’s that time of the year when a new single is in the offing and a new album from P Square. So, Peter goes on a rant on twitter; abuses Jude, fights with Paul and a conveniently arranged raid of their Omole Estate home by court bailiffs is added to the fray. All in one week.
I am sure the next thing we would hear will be that they have been reconciled by family and friends and a new single would be released in no time.
I suspect it’s all part of a well – crafted publicity hype. Of course those who wish to fall for it would.
One of such pranks was one carried out a few days ago crafted by Chioma Akpotha, Uche Jumbo, Blessing Egbe, Omoni Oboli and Ufoma Mcdermott in which Chioma purportedly tweeted a jealous tweet about the other four ladies in a picture pose. That attracted doctored responses from the other ladies which went viral.
Where they spoilt it was a revelation a few days after that all of them are starring in a new movie to be released in a few weeks. The tweet fight was just a publicity hype.
There’s a limit to the people’s patience in matters such as this and it won’t be long before the musicians and producers find out.

After months of dating and being seen together in several Instagram posts, Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill seem to be facing issues in their relationship, TMZ reported Saturday.
The report said that the couple got into a massive fight after the rapper asked his girlfriend to stay with him in Philadelphia while the rapper is on house arrest. However, Minaj reportedly declined the request by saying that she will not put her life on hold for Mill’s criminal charges. Nicki’s response reportedly triggered a massive fight between the couple that is still ongoing.
Minaj has been in Los Angeles this week, and TMZ reported that it was not clear when she would return to Philadelphia. Sources also told TMZ that the couple generally fights a lot, but this has by far been the biggest one between the two.
Earlier this month, Mill was ordered to stay under house arrest for 90 days for violating his probation that stemmed from drug and gun charges from a 2008 conviction. Mill will have to wear an ankle monitor from March 1 and will not be allowed to release, record or perform music. He will also be on probation for six years and has been ordered to complete community service.
Earlier reports had suggested that two were engaged after Minaj posted several photos on Instagram showing a big diamond ring on her ring finger. Reports had also suggested that two were planning to wed this year.
The couple was first involved in rumors suggesting they were engaged in April last year, when Minaj posted a picture of a diamond ring on Instagram. Although she did not caption the photo, she had used several emojis with it. In August, reports said that Minaj was pregnant with Mill’s child, after she addressed to him as “my baby father.”
This follows the signing of Muno who was signed early this year. He has since released 2 singles and embarked on a radio tour.
The woman of the house is Lucy who has a body that is good enough for the music business. Jude is supporting Paul on his music business while Peter doesn’t look like it.

Ndigbo Cultural Society of Nigeria (NCSN) has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria not to carry out the death sentence passed on Rev. Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, the General Overseer of Christian Praying Assembly, by the Supreme Court on Friday.
General Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly, Rev. Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, a.k.a Reverend King Leader of the group, Chief Udo Udeogaranya, made the appeal after the Supreme Court threw out Rev King’s appeal against the death sentence passed on him in 2007 by a Lagos High Court.
According to Udeogaranya, the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government should “commute the sentence and grant him pardon as Nigeria stands to gain nothing by shedding blood.
“This plea is premised on the ground that many Nigerians still hold Rev. Ezeugo as their spiritual leader even in various prisons and that the initial trial in Lagos as purportedly put forward by his lawyer Mr. Olalekan Ojo and published by national dailies was a miscarriage of justice in which the lawyer made certain points that demanded a second thought.”
Ojo argued that his client did not commit the crime and was not at the scene of the incident. He insisted that the deceased, Ann Uzoh, had in two statements she made after the incident and before her death, stated that she got burnt in a generator accident and that the cleric was not responsible for her injuries.”
Ojo said the Investigating Police Officer, IPO, had tendered statements which stated that Ezeugo was not responsible for the burns that led to Uzoh’s death. He alleged that the trial Judge refused to admit in evidence, the statements he said exonerated Ezeugo of the crime.
“The lawyer further contended had those ‘vital exhibits’ been admitted rather than expunged by the trial judge, they would have operated to cast serious doubt on the case of the prosecution. He maintained that Justice Oyewole’s refusal to admit the exhibits in evidence ‘occasioned a great miscarriage of justice’ against his client.”
I cannot begin to imagine how many gigabytes of data, how much airtime, Facebook posts, tweets, instagram pictures, Display Messages, Display Pictures, Google Searches, Snap chats, prayers, testimonies, prayer points, not to mention jokes, scenarios and conspiracy theories about whether or not it was a planned affair- have been created and are still ongoing from the life event that happened on Olajumoke Orisaguna.
A life event, yes, as that one event has erupted, with many ripple effects not just on Olajumoke herself, but also on her family, friends, persons who connected with her, brands, Nigerians and the world at large as we woke up to the news and the shocking awareness that -“Bread Seller Today, Model Tomorrow, “- taking the world by storm.
27 year old Olajumoke, a married mother of 2children, left her home in Osogbo to Lagos in a bid to fend for herself and her family.
She took up selling bread and while in the course of her job one day, stumbled upon a TY Bello Photoshoot of musician Tinie Tempah. Social media went agog after TY Bello posted the picture as people kept requesting to know who the model was.
The rest is history as from ‘Bread seller, Olajumoke is now a Bread Winner’ .So much talk, thought, typing, has gone on and continues to go on about the once in a lifetime opportunity.
A life event is described as an entry or exit occasion that causes significant change in the life of the concerned individual. For me, in Olajumoke’s case, it was a mix of both. It was a case of ‘Out with the Old, In with the new’.
Her miracles don’t also seem to stop. They appear like those kinds of miracles you ask from God that he embarrasses you with. The lessons from her story are such that they will serve to inspire and motivate, be the point of reference and of teaching for many years to come.
While I join teeming Nigerians to congratulate her for this ‘once in a lifetime miracle’, I will also like to share a few invaluable lessons I have learnt from the whole story.
1. Stay in your place of assignment-Olajumoke was at her job minding her business and not someone else’s.
2. We are much more than we ever imagined. Recall that saying by Ralph Waldo Emerson that says: ‘What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us. And when we bring what is within us out into the world, miracles happen’.
Would she ever have thought she was capable of anything else than her previously taught skill of hairdressing and trading. She had dreams of being in Nollywood. How far off is modeling from acting. Her dreams were quite aligned with these building blocks.
3. Be diligent at your work. Whatever your hands find to do, do it well. You never know who is watching. Out with the old mentality of ‘currying’ favor while at work to gain attention. Even while selling her wares, she dressed well such that her color theme was part of the eye catcher that made it look artsy.
4. Be a vessel of blessing. Let God use you to bless others- do away with the Popular Nigerian mentality of ‘if it’s not for me, why should it happen to someone else for good?’. TY Bello did great by letting it happen for Olajumoke.
5. Learn to Celebrate success. It costs you close to nothing to appreciate success in another person. It frees you from hate, envy and sadness. Celebrating others is vital to your own achievements.
6. See the good in others- Olajumoke may appear as a ‘nobody’ because of her background, but I haven’t seen anyone that God can’t bless. TY Bello’s pivotal role in going the extra mile for the potential good she saw in Jumoke is commendable.
Life is about time and chance- opportunities will come. Be strategic, recognize them and Seize the moment, or like in Olajumoke’s case, the moment seized her.
8. Nothing is too small to start with. Olajumoke’s take home from profit was rather little. But God will ask, what is that you have in your hands? And then he will bless it.
9. A man who empowers his woman empowers himself. Jumoke’s husband allowed her to take the opportunity and he has been seen to support her since then. Some men out of fear and intimidation would have stopped her dream altogether.
10. ‘Nothing is as powerful as an idea whose time has come’-Victor Hugo. The idea is Olajumoke. This is
Olajumoke’s time. Carpe diem Olajumoke!
Here is wishing her the very best in her future end.
