Rapper, Odumodublvck shares why he can never relocate to Lagos from Abuja

Popular Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, better known as Odumodublvck, has stressed that, despite being Nigeria’s entertainment capital, he found it difficult to imagine moving to Lagos.

Odumodublvck revealed this during an appearance on Quincy Jonze’s Echoo Room podcast.

His main motivation for making this decision is the city’s perceived lack of safety and the possible harmful influence on his mental health.

Instead, he expresses a preference for residing in Abuja, a city known for its relaxed and tranquil environment, where he enjoys a considerable level of recognition.

In his words;

“Let’s say a fish pond has 10 fishes in Lagos and there are a hundred fishermen; in Abuja, there are 10 fishes and there are five fishermen, if you are a fisherman, where would you go and cast your nets?

With the help of the internet, you can connect anybody. Now I’m in Lagos here na, I’m in Echoo Room na. I came from Abuja, I can go back tomorrow. It’s just funds.

I’ll come here but to stay here and dabble in that pond, is not safe. It’s not safe for my brand. It’s not safe for my mental space. It’s not safe for my bank accounts. Because, if Wizkid dey do show, before him call me, he go first call Joeboy, Blaqbonez, Fireboy, Oxlade, Buju, Omah Lay. I can keep going on and on, before they get to Odumodu.

Nigerian Instagram comedian, Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, known by his stage name, Nasboi, has revealed that he cries when he is unable to come up with content ideas.

The popular skit-maker said this during a recent interview on TVC’s ESplash, noting that while being multi-talented, coming up with fresh ideas is difficult.

Nasboi, formerly known as ‘Low Budget OBO,’ said that he does not have a scriptwriter and that everything he releases is completely spontaneous. He also mentioned that he may have a creativity block and won’t have any content ideas for three weeks.

“I don’t have scriptwriters. All my skits are my brain work. Everything is me. “People make it look like, ‘you are so talented, it [inspiration] just come.’ It’s a lie o. Sometimes, I could stay like three weeks and I don’t get a single content. A lot of people are not so emotional, my emotion is on the high side.

So, when I don’t get content, I cry. I’m not lying to you. It gets that bad. I feel like, ah! Dem don collect my talent. Two weeks and nothing is funny to me. It happens,” he said.

Self-acclaimed relationship expert, Okoro Blessing, also known as Blessing CEO, stated that just because prominent car dealer, IK Ogbonna a.k.a IVD tattooed her name doesn’t mean they’re dating.

She made this statement in a recent interview with Punch Saturday Beats to dispel rumors about her relationship with the car salesman.

According to her, his tattooing of her name doesn’t mean then they’re lovers. She further mentioned that IVD had tattoos of his wife and children on his body.

She said;

“One can tattoo anybody’s name on one’s hand. I have Denrele’s name on my hand; does it mean I am dating him? I have more than five people’s names on my hand, and we are not related. IVD also has his (late) wife’s name, her face and names of all his children tattooed on his body. I did not know IVD as of the time the matter was trending. I defended him innocently. If I had something to do with him, I would not even say a word.”

She also addressed critical statements made about how she dresses;

“I dress very classy. Many are just looking for something to talk about. You can say my outfits are a bit controversial, but I wear clothes depending on where I am going. You do not expect me to wear a suit to the beach, or call me tacky when I wear a bikini.”

Blessing also discussed her current issues with the Nigerian Police. According to her late late bimbo’s sister who had accused her of contributing to her younger sister’s death was chasing clout.

“I was ambushed and taken to court. The woman who made a complaint against me accused me of contributing to the death of her younger sister, but that is not true. I never knew or met them before. I talked about the case like every other topic on social media. I don’t know why she picked on me. She was just looking for clout, but I did not give her that attention,” she said.

Popular British boxer, Ryan Taylor, has sparked breakup rumors after he unfollowed his fiancée, DJ Cuppy, on Instagram.

The couple had generated whispers online after Cuppy was apparently sighted without her ring and had stopped parading her partner on her page.

According to internet reports, Cuppy and her lover originally unfollowed each other, but she later refollowed him.

Nollywood actress, Damilola Oni, has sparked massive reactions after a video surfaced online showing her refusing to act a kissing scene with her colleague, Jigan Babaoja.

In the video, Damilola was on the set of an upcoming movie project alongside several other movie stars, including Jigan.

A scene in her role required her to kiss, but when she realized that Jigan was the actor she would be kissing, she declined.

Popular Nigerian singer, 2face Idibia has relayed a message to various Nigerian musicians, including Odumodublvck, Bella Shmurda, Zlatan, and others, who were in attendance during a performance organized by Pocolee at Lagos State University, LASU.

Instagram skit maker, Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, popularly known as Nasboi, has expressed dissatisfaction with the AMVCA organizers for passing him over for the 2023 award nomination.

Nasboi chastised the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) for failing to include him in the Online Social Content Creator category for the Headies’ ninth edition.

According to him, he was not recognized despite submitting a video for consideration, but other skit makers ranked lower than him won nominations.

He expressed his worries during a recent appearance on the TVC program ESplash. Nasboi asserted that his career had a more successful year in 2022 than many other content creators, and he feels he deserves at least a nomination, even if he does not win the prize.

He said;

“You know AMVCA started involving us; content creators category exactly two years ago. That first time, I wasn’t really upset [that I was not nominated]. But this second time if AMVCA is watching, I deserved a nomination.

In the first year, my friend that got a nomination said, bro, ‘We submitted [our videos to AMVCA for nomination consideration].’ I’m like, okay, that makes sense. I can understand why I was omitted.

But 2023, this one that just passed, Nasboi was fire in 2022. I deserved a nomination. This is a humble brag. 2022, I was on fire. I made amazing contents; funny and inspirational. Speed Darlington spotted the Cubana Chief Priest after landing at an airport in Owerri, Imo State, and made a video of him carrying his luggage.

Popular Nigerian singer, Adekunle Gold has cautioned his colleagues not to attend concerts at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife, Osun state.

The OAU official page took to Twitter to invite artistes organize their shows at the university, promising nothing but fun and a good time.

The invitation came after a stressful event at Lagos State University (LASU) in which musicians including Odumodublvck and Bella Shmurda were assaulted by suspected cultists.

A Nigerian soldier has reportedly damaged the car of an abroad returnee following their advice about his irresponsible driving.

A couple engaged in a conversation with the soldier who had stopped them on the roadside to demonstrate his authority in a video that was making the rounds on social media.

According to the returnee couple, the soldier reacted forcefully to their warning and assaulted them while also causing damage to their vehicle.

A Twitter activist, Femi Adeyeye, raised the Nigerian Army’s attention to the regrettable deed of one of its military members and shared details of all that transpired.

While sharing the video on his page, he wrote;

“A couple arriving from the US and heading to Ota, Ogun State had a brawl on the road with a soldier.
According to reports, even from witnesses, the said soldier was driving recklessly and this couple had to caution him to be careful, lest he causes an accident…

A Nigerian lady has publicly accused her married boss, whom she identified as a skitmaker, Lemon of impregnating her and refusing to accept responsibility.

With tears streaming down her cheeks, she lambasted those who had scolded her after her initial public complaint.

While recounting the facts of her sexual experience with Lemon during one of his visits, the unnamed lady maintained that she is not promiscuous, as many have implied.

To back up her claim, she performed a pregnancy test with a digital gadget and urine, which she shared with her followers. The lady stated that her baby would not be born outside of marriage and urged her boss to accept his acts and fulfill his paternal obligations till the child was born.

The alleged member of May Edochie’s family made the accusation while chatting with a reporter on the phone.

“People are still telling me that Ricardo isn’t real, that he’s scamming me and that he’s not in Canada. “I don’t believe them … I believe Ricardo’s real,” Terri lamented.

Dr. Phil agreed with Tammy’s doubts and unveiled the truth about “Ricardo” by fact-checking the story he fed Terri.

Apparently, the man in the photos he sent to Terri’s real name is “James,” and it turns out that this is not the first time his photos have been used in romance scams.

James revealed that his pictures were taken from his social media accounts and exploited for romance scams.

“I’ve been dealing with this for over 10 years,” James said in a video sent to the “Dr. Phil” show. “I hope this video can show that I am the person in the photos, but I am not the person that Terri has been talking to and sending money to.”

Following the exposure, Terri revealed that she was heartbroken to discover that her lover was not real and vowed to block the scammer and get a new number.

Ace Nigerian music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has revealed why he didn’t sign afrobeats superstars Wizkid and Davido to his former record label, Mo’Hits.

During his appearance on the Leaderboard podcast hosted by Fisayo Fosudo, the Mavin boss explained that he couldn’t sign Wizkid because Banky W, had already approached and signed him to EME.

As for Davido, Don Jazzy noted that he had the opportunity to sign him but decided not to because he believed Davido would succeed without a record label.

“I had the opportunity to sign Davido, but I didn’t because I kind of figured that he would be fine. Wizkid, obviously, I couldn’t because Banky W got to him first. That would have been amazing,” he said.

Don Jazzy also expressed his admiration for other artists like Simi, Teni, and Falz, and expressed regret that he didn’t sign them.

Popular Nigerian singer, Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, better known as Bella Shmurda, has broken his silence on the alleged attack on him at Lagos State University.

It was earlier reported that Bella Shmurdah was allegedly attacked by suspected cultists at the homecoming event of dancer Poco Lee at LASU’s main campus in Ojo on Thursday, July 13.

Nigerian superstar singer, Davido Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has celebrated his right-hand man, Santus Gee, as he ties the knot.

Santus got married to his partner, Jennifer, in Ontario, Canada, in a simple ceremony attended by close friends and family.

One of the suspects involved in the attack on the convoy of Apostle Johnson Suleman, the general overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, has been arrested.

Recall that on October 21, 2022, the clergyman’s convoy was attacked by some gunmen who killed three policemen, two drivers and a lady.

Months after the fatal attack, one of the suspects identified as Yusuf Ismail, has been apprehended and paraded before newsmen.

During questioning, Yusuf disclosed that it was an assassination attempt on the clergyman but claimed not to know the motive behind it. He also revealed that he wielded an AK-47 during the attack and was the first to open fire.

The spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, Muyiwa Adejobi, stated that Yusuf Ismail Isa was arrested by the Intelligence Rapid Team after a thorough investigation.

Adejobi said;

“Following an intensive investigation into the fatal attack on the convoy of Apostle Johnson Suleman, the Founder of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Auchi, on October 21, 2022, along with Benin police personnel, who were gruesomely murdered, the operatives of FIB-IRT on Auchi road comprising six people, including three of the assailants, apprehended one Yusuf Ismael Isah ‘m’, a native of Okene, Kogi State and a plumber, at Agbaraoluwa Phase 2 Ijoka, Akure, Ondo State and recovered five Ak47 Rifles, two K2 Assault rifles, 180 live ammunition and 4 suspected IEDs were found in his apartment.”
