A web designer, identified as Babatunde Omoyeni, who planned to have his Christmas and New Year celebrations in the United States of America, has reportedly been killed in Lagos over N50. The deceased was supposed to travel on December 10.
After obtaining all travel documents, the 38-year-old decided to go clubbing with his friends on Saturday. He was returning when he had a disagreement with a bus conductor over the N50 fare and was stabbed to death.
According to Punch Metro, it was learnt from a police source that angry residents almost lynched the conductor, who was identified as Samson Eletu.
He was reportedly saved by a community leader, who took him to the Aguda Police Division. The source said:
“The victim was returning home after a party when he entered the bus.“He gave the conductor N500, but the conductor told him he didn’t have N450 change, because the fare was N50.
When they got to the bus stop, the man demanded his change and that started a fight.
An Alfa in the bus intervened and separated them. But the conductor, who was still aggrieved, trailed the victim to his house.”
It was learnt that Eletu, while armed with a broken bottle, banged on the gate into the house.
“As the deceased opened the gate, Eletu stabbed him. Babatunde took to his heels, but the conductor chased him. Unfortunately, he fell down and the conductor stabbed him repeatedly,”
It was learnt that Eletu was fleeing from the scene when he was nabbed by a suspicious resident who saw blood stains on his clothes.
The younger sister of the victim, Blessing Omoyeni, said his brother would not have died if he was rescued on time. She said he spent over one hour in a pool of blood before he was rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba.
She said:
“Nobody was ready to assist him to the hospital. A man had to throw himself in front of a commercial bus and asked the passengers to disembark, before he could get help.
“He was rushed to LUTH, but they were turned back at the gate by a doctor who pronounced him dead on arrival around 12am.“People started beating the conductor and almost killed him before he was rescued and taken to the Aguda Police Division.”
His girlfriend, Temiloluwa Ogundayo, said Babatunde had recently informed her to prepare for their engagement. Ogundayo, who lived with Babatunde, said she was not aware that he had been killed until the early hours of Sunday.
“We have dated for over one year and he told me to meet my sister to ask for the requirement for our engagement. He said we would go there on Monday.
“On that Saturday morning before he went to work, we made love. He called me around 5pm to prepare food for him that he would soon be home. I had done everything and was waiting for him in the house till 11pm when I drifted off into sleep.
“Around 1am, he came in and slept beside me. He rubbed my head with his hand and I asked him if he had eaten his food, but he said I should not bother, that he was fine.
“I went back to sleep and it was around 6am that somebody called me and asked if I knew he was dead. I jumped up and looked around the bathroom and kitchen to know if he was there, but I couldn’t find him.”
The victim’s friend, Ogunyemi Olaribigbe, described him as quiet and gentle, adding that his death was a big blow to all who knew him.
Thirty-two-year-old Eletu said the victim attacked him first.
He said:
“I am also a driver and I had parked my bus at about 7pm when I saw a co-driver who offered to take me home. “It was along the way that he decided to pick passengers and there were eight of them in the bus.
“I collected money from seven of them, but he refused to pay and said he knew me on the street. “It was at the bus stop that he broke a bottle and stabbed me in the forehead and cheek. I also got the same bottle, but unfortunately I stabbed him in the neck and he died.”

Outspoken Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has opened up on supporting President Muhammadu Buhari during the electioneering, claiming that Nigeria would not have survived four more years of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
The Nobel laureate aired out his stance during a programme titled, ‘Channels Book Club’ on Channels Television on Tuesday. He said:
“We were left with two credible contestants in terms of catchment area for the nation. We had reached, in my view, the bottom.
I became convinced that if this country underwent four more years under President Jonathan, the country would run aground completely. I looked at the record and said this cannot go on, this has to stop.
“Then I looked at this man who had contested elections three times before and said he would not contest anymore and then decided to throw his hat in the ring. I talked to people and I said do you know what you’re doing?
“And after weighing all the options, I said let’s try a new one. And since in electoral terms, he was the one, I guardedly, with reservations, announced that no, not a continuation under Jonathan.
“And so very reluctantly, I want this on record, because I made it quite clear, I weighed the two of them and I said this nation stands a better chance under Buhari. And what has been coming out now? Look at all that has been coming out? Look at the figures (loot) which virtually hammer one into the ground just the sheer enormity of the robbery of this nation that is getting exposed progressively. It shows that we did not make a bad choice.”
When the professor was asked if he was completely satisfied with Buhari’s six months in office, Soyinka said,
“Not totally but Buhari has proven that there is such a thing as a born again democrat.”
His opinion of the recent pro-Biafran agitations, Soyinka said:
“So, let us sit down, let us talk once again about restructuring the nation in a way that no one will want to leave. The agitations, for me, are not surprising. It was expected that it would happen sooner or later.
“So, I am referring to a genuine and authentic National Conference. Not like the one that former President Olusegun Obasanjo called which was meant to try to perpetuate himself in office.
“The one under Jonathan was extensive; it covered lots and lots of ground. It proposed some far-reaching changes, not far-reaching for me, but far-reaching. It is about time we went back to efforts like that; genuine ones like that.”

StarBoy!!! Wizkid is really the Baba Nla, He keeps stepping his game higher and this one is really huge! Wizkid is no doubt an international star!! Wizkid showed he is truly the baba nla and he is good at what he does as his hit song Ojuelegba was ranked 12th best song in the world in the last calendar year, by New York based magazine, The Fader.
The fan favourite, Ojuelegba which got a remix from international rapper, Drake, was ranked above chart topping singles from American superstars such as Future, Fetty Wap, Rich Homie Quan among others. Also Alicia Keys and other top world known celebrities was seen danicing to Wizkid’s song, this Boy has gone far!!!
Here’s what was written about Ojuelegba by Fader
“Let’s get what we all already know out of the way: Drake hopped on this song from Nigerian artist Wizkid for a remix, generously making the song more famous (at least in America) than it might’ve been on its own in 2015.
But let me state this clearly and definitively: the song never needed him. No matter the celebrity, you can’t improve on perfection, even if the Skepta verse that accompanied Drake’s on the remix was pretty great.
No,”Ojuelegba” is best on its own, a graceful slice of rhythm that does not need cultural translation. Like Popcaan’s “Everything Nice,” the iconic global jam from last summer, it has a message of grace, thankfulness, and happy perseverance that resonates in every home. And that beat? It’s got a shoulder-shrugging momentum so joyful, how could it not have wound its way all over the world?”.
Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton donned the late Princess Diana‘s favorite exotic diamond Tiara as she arrived with Prince William at the Queen’s annual Diplomatic Reception in a chauffeur-driven Bentley.
The stunning tiara was originally created by Queen Mary in 1914 to her own design from pearls and diamonds. In her will, the Queen Mary left the tiara to the Queen who wore it frequently, including at an evening event in 1955.
In 1981 she gave it as a wedding present to Prince William‘s mother, Diana, who wore it for the first time at the state opening of parliament that November.
Buckingham Palace was unable to confirm last night whether the tiara had reverted to the Queen on Diana’s death and had now been given to Kate, or whether it was just on loan for the night.
In line with the reports of the APC’s campaign promise to pay N5,000 monthly stipend to unemployed Nigerians, President Muhammadu Buhari has proposed to spend N500bn on social services to cater for the needs of youths and other “vulnerable” groups in 2016.
Punch reports that the proposal was contained in the 2016-2018 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper, which he sent to the National Assembly on Tuesday.
Buhari wrote separate letters to the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, which were read to members in the respective chambers.
The document explained that the social welfare programme would be executed in phases but did not categorically say whether it was meant to implement his administration’s promise to pay each unemployed person in the country N5, 000 monthly.
However, it added that that the scheme would also take care of the school feeding programme initiative as well as the “conditional cash transfer to the most vulnerable and a post-NYSC grant.”
Buhari explained that the intervention would start next year as a pilot scheme, adding that his government would work towards securing the support of donor agencies and development partners in order to minimise potential risks.
The House will open debate on the MTEF and FSP on Wednesday (today). The House took the decision as soon as Dogara read the President’s letter to members.
“We will all agree that this is very important and urgent. “The clerk should circulate copies of the MTEF and FSP to all members today, preparatory for the debate tomorrow (today),” Dogara announced.
We love our celebrities and most importantly we love when we see two celebrities get married.
While most celebrities barely find love or get married to celebrities like them because of the burden that comes with being one, some others have found a way to maintain the balance and fall in love with a celebrity with a busy schedule like theirs.
Today, we take a look at some celebrities who’ve gotten married to celebrities. We won’t be writing much so we’ll just let the photos speak for themselves.

A new ‘execution‘ video features rebel Syrian fighters forcing ISIS captives to kneel in the dirt at gunpoint – only for them to do something completely unexpected.
The footage opens with captives being led along a dusty road in orange jumpsuits. The captives are then forced to kneel in the dirt while the members of the al-Shamiyya Front (a coalition of northern Aleppo-based rebel factions) proudly display their pistols. They then point the weapons at the back of the militants’ heads.
It appears the ISIS fighters are about to die in yet another harrowing execution video, suddenly a message flashed up on the screen:
“Muslims are not criminals.”
Astonishingly, the masked men holster their weapons and walk away. Another rebel then appears and lectures the jumpsuit clad ISIS militants on justice – powerfully showing them the mercy the terror group has denied to so many of its victims.
Sheikh Mohammed Khatib, President of the Sharia Office of al-Shamiyya, says:
“To the champions of our revolution and the hope of our people, justice will guide us, Islam needs us.” We have allowed you a way out… we do not seek any fame”If you desire to execute us, here are our swords, such executions will only consolidate our faith.Kindness is the premise of our lives”

A blind psychic who has been credited with predicting the 9/11 terror attacks and the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami may have warned of the rise of ISIS decades ago and also made dire predictions for 2016 and beyond.
Baba Vanga, a Bulgarian clairvoyant, made a chilling prophecy warning of an invasion of Europe by Muslim extremists in 2016.
She foresaw a “great Muslim war” which would begin with the Arab Spring in 2010, play out in Syria and end with the establishment of a caliphate by 2043 with Rome at its epicentre.
She was known as ‘Nostradamus from the Balkans‘ due to her reputed 85 per cent success rate. News.com.au reveals that Vanga, who died in 1996 aged 85, reportedly made hundreds of predictions in her 50-year career.According to Vanga, Europe will “cease to exist” by the end of next year following the systematic elimination of entire populations, leaving the continent “almost empty”, a “wasteland almost entirely devoid of any form of life”.
The mystic allegedly warned of climate change and the polar ice caps melting as far back as the 1950s. And her followers believe she predicted the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami after warning of a “huge wave” that would descend on a “big coast, covering people and towns and (causing) everything to disappear under the water”.
THE MOST FAMOUS BABA VANGA PROPHECIES TO ‘COME TRUE’
Predicted in the 1950s: Global warming and the 2004 Tsunami.
“Cold regions will become warm … and volcanoes will awaken. A huge wave will cover a big coast covered with people and towns, and everything will disappear beneath the water.” “Everything will melt, just like ice.”
Predicted in 1989: The September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on New York’s Twin Towers.
“Horror, horror! The American brethren (believed to be a reference to the two ‘brother’ towers) will fall after being attacked by the steel birds (thought to be the two hijacked passenger planes). “The wolves will be howling in a bush (believed to be a reference to then US president George Bush) and innocent blood will gush.”
Predicted in 1980: The sinking of Russian nuclear submarine the Kursk in 2000.
It saw the crew die horrible deaths over several days while international rescue crews tried in vain to retrieve the vessel from the depths of the ocean. Until the tragedy, people assumed the “Kursk” Vanga referred to was the Russian city the Kursk was named for.
“At the turn of the century, in August of 1999 or 2000, Kursk will be covered with water, and the whole world will be weeping over it.”
The election of Barack Obama.
Vanga reportedly correctly predicted that the 44th president of the United States would be African American. However, she also stated that he would be the “last US president”. We’ll have to wait and see how that pans out.

A super gorgeous model accused of shooting her British millionaire ex-lover dead at his holiday home in the Costa del Sol is said to stand trial charged with murder soon.
25 year old Mayka Kukucova, was extradited from her native Slovakia after she fled Spain following the death of wealthy jeweller Andrew Bush, 48 in April last year.
The Bristol-based businessman was shot after turning up at his mansion with stunning new girlfriend Maria Korotaeva and finding Kukucova, jilted by her alleged victim six months earlier, waiting for him inside.
Kukucova told detectives she shot the dad-of-one in self-defence during a struggle after he fired at her but missed.
Kukucova has been held in prison in Spain since May last year.A state indictment against her has offered the first official account of how 22-year-old Miss Korotaeva took refuge inside her boyfriend’s Hummer after they arrived at his rented villa near Marbella to find his ex inside.
Locally-based prosecutor Jose Antonio Nieblas wrote:
“The accused, moved by the unmistakable desire to end Andrew Bush’s life and at a certain point in a row they were having, made a sudden and unexpected use of the .38 special-model Amadeo Rossi revolver that she was carrying.
“She shot Andrew Bush three times, the first shot hitting him in the arm and the other two in the head.Andrew Bush had no chance to react or defend himself against the unexpected and unpredictable attack which caused his death.
“In an attempt to procure her impunity, the accused placed the revolver in the dead man’s left hand, took the keys to his Hummer and left the house making sure she closed the doors and impeded immediate access from outside.
“Following that she fled in the vehicle after a heated argument with Maria Korotaeva.”
He broke up with Kukucova after a bizarre incident in which he arrived at his large farmhouse in Chepstow, Gwent, to find her handcuffed with a pillow over her head after a row when she hid his passport to try to stop him going on a business trip to the Middle East.
Kukucova told Slovakian police before her extradition to Spain that she travelled to her ex’s house to collect her belongings after being ordered to move them out by Mr Bush.
The new girlfriend who was with him
She denied breaking in – insisting she picked up the keys from an agreed hiding place – and said she only stayed in the property while she waited for a friend to arrive from Slovakia.
A Lagos trader was discovered dead in his apartment from what residents said were fumes from a fire incident that happened in the Ebute-Meta area of the State on Saturday.
According to Punch Metro, the 35-year-old trader, identified only as Timothy, who sold men and women’s belts, was discovered dead at about 4pm when a customer came to his apartment and met it locked.
It was gathered that on Wednesday at about 12am, neighbours had raised the alarm of a fire in the adjoining apartment, and they had quickly mobilised to put it out, while all of them rushed out to take fresh air to allow the smoke to subside.
Timothy, who hailed from Benue State, however, was nowhere to be found as his room was locked and residents felt he had also gone out.
However, Timothy was said to have been discovered dead in his room on Saturday, four days after the fire.
A neighbour, who identified himself as Akeem Mustapha, said the fire started from a candle lit in an adjacent room, adding that the deceased’s room was stocked with belts and the smoke might have choked Timothy to death.
He said:
“We do not know any of Timothy’s relatives. That is the challenge. Also, his phone cannot be found. About five years ago, his elder brother fell ill and died. As it is, the police have arrested his neighbour, identified as mama boys, for arson.
“What we heard on that night was the alarm that fire had started. So, everyone mobilized and came out to put out the fire. We did not know Timothy was inside the room. It was on the fourth day when a customer came that he was found dead.”
Another neighbour, who declined to mention her name, said they scolded Mama Boye for not reporting the incident to the police promptly, which was why the police were suspecting her of complicity in the trader’s death.
“The woman did not know that the trader was inside his room. Ordinarily, Timothy was supposed to run out too when the alarm was raised. But nobody saw him. When the woman did not see him the next day, she was supposed to have called the police’s attention, but it was a customer on Saturday who discovered the man was dead in his room.

The name “Saint” of the new born baby of super couples, Kimand Kanye West, has caused tongues to wag on Social media. It’s been revealed by insiders the real reason why they gave their son the name.
According to E! News, the new parents decided upon the religious name as they wanted to show how much of a “blessing” their son is after Kim’s “difficult pregnancy“…
The super model has made no secret that she doesn’t enjoy pregnancy and had a complicated birth due to Kim suffering from something called placenta accreta (when the placenta grows too deeply into the uterus).
The condition – which has the potential to cause severe blood loss after delivery – made the birth “the most painful experience ever”, this is according to TMZ.
Kim’s doctor’s needed an extra few hours to deal with the placenta issues, but,she still managed to have a natural birth instead of a c-section.
It was revealed on Monday by Cameroon that the Nigerian Chibok schoolgirls, kidnapped by Boko Haram last year were not among a group of 900 hostages liberated by the country’s army.
“The people that were freed are just villagers. The schoolgirls who are missing are not amongst the group,” Information Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakari told Reuters by telephone.
Last week’s hostage release raised hopes that some of the girls might be among the group. The army also said it killed at least 100 Boko Haram fighters in the operation as it seeks to strike back after a series of attacks, not least in its Far North region.
The freed hostages were driven in crowded open-topped trucks to the town of Maroua in the Far North at the weekend and given food aid and water by regional officials, Reuters television pictures showed.
On Tuesday, 8th December, 2015, shock hit the Ejigbo Magistrates’ court when a 22 year old man who had been arrested and charged to the court did something quite unexpected.

Tomiwa Bolaji was brought to the court and arraigned for allegedly stealing a generator set valued at N25,000 belonging to Moses Udeze.
The incident happened at 11, Adenekan Street where Udeze resides. While he was escaping with the generator, he was caught by the residents and handed over to the police at Ejigbo Division.
At the station, Bolaji confessed that he actually stole the set to sell in order to raise money.
Consequently, the presiding Magistrate, Mrs J. O. E. Adeyemi ordered him to be remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri pending the date for fact and sentence.

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP has claimed that under president Buhari‘s administration, Nigeria is experiencing the gloomiest festive season.
A statement on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, the PDP said:
“rather than evolving economic initiatives to improve the lot of the citizens, this administration has, in the last seven months churned out policies that stifle productivity in the formal and informal sectors, thereby inflicting hardship on them. This has resulted in the semi-destruction of the long-standing extended family system in our society.
“It is a statement of fact that under President Buhari’s watch, the nation has witnessed the gloomiest festive season.
Under this government, Nigerians have had the worst Sallah celebration and by all indications, this Christmas season is going to be the bleakest ever.
“More worrisome is the fact that there is no indication that the government has any plan for ameliorating the hardship of the people. Instead, the situation may get worse as this administration, in its lack of economic initiatives, is now rolling up its sleeves to introduce some stringent tax policies, in addition to completely removing the social palliatives Nigerians benefit from,”
On the issue of the persisting fuel queues across the country, the PDP demanded that the government come clean, asking:
“Is it market driven or a product of government conspiracy? Our take is that if indeed it is true that the government has a hand in this fuel crisis, then they should have a rethink and show pity on innocent Nigerians.”
“We therefore align with the people in declaring that this administration is unprepared for governance. President Buhari and his party came to power on propaganda, deceit and falsehood and the government has now shown lack of initiatives and the required competence to successfully move the nation forward.
“We advice the government to note that any attempt to increase taxes and duties will overstretch the lean income of ordinary Nigerians and gradually inflict intolerable poverty in the land,”
