Two Nigerian pastors have been allegedly detained and their leader blocked from entering Zimbabwe over failed prophesy. Zimbabwean News Day reports that, Chris Okafor who last year prophesied President Robert Mugabe’s death has been barred from entering the country,
Okafor, the leader of the Liberation City World Outreach Ministries, reportedly said in October last year that Zimbabwe would have a new president by March this year.
According to the report, seven members of Okafor’s church had arrived in Zimbabwe on Sunday to prepare for the pastor’s “grand” arrival at a conference convened by local cleric, Joseph Magorimbo.
The report said five of the Nigerians were deported instantly on arrival and the other two, who arrived on a different flight, were allowed into the country.
The two were later taken for questioning, as was Magorimbo. A source privy to the incident told News Day that Magorimbo and the two Nigerians were questioned for five hours, with Magorimbo accused of inviting Okafor.
A source said security agents claimed:
“Okafor prophesied something against the president. But they have not said what it is Okafor said”. The source was quoted as saying, “Okafor was supposed to arrive tomorrow (Wednesday), but he has since cancelled the trip”.
Magorimbo, the report said, was later released while the two Nigerians were bundled into a truck and taken to an unknown destination.
Magorimbo’s lawyer, Jonathan Samkange, confirmed that state security agents had quizzed his client and the two Nigerians.
A model student has been told to stay away from class after developing a suspected life-threatening allergy to school.
Tiffiney Blakey suffered repeated anaphylactic shocks minutes after entering John Whitgift Academy in Grimsby.
According to the Guardian UK, Doctors have now instructed her to stay at home until tests can be done to uncover what is causing the potentially fatal reactions.
She said:
“I had been to registration and was walking to the first lesson when started feeling itchy and hot and I told my friend and she told the teacher. They called mum and she rushed me to the GP for advice.”
The next day feeling better Tiffiney returned to school but within 20 minutes of being inside the building she began suffering an even worse reaction.
She said:
“I think I was in maths and I started getting really itchy and I started getting warm and dizzy. “We went into English and I started getting really hot and swollen and I couldn’t see properly and my throat started to hurt.
“I was struggling to breathe. I felt really scared, I was saying, ‘I’m going to die. Please don’t say I’m going to die.'”
The scared schoolgirl required hospital treatment after going into full anaphylactic shock. Tiffiney returned to school but again suffered similar reactions despite doctors increasing her steroid tablets and prescribing antihistamines.
Finally they have ordered her to stay at home until they can get to the bottom of what is causing the reactions. Her mother, Josie said:
“People think it’s a joke. All the kids must be thinking it’s great to be allergic to school but for Tiffiney it is life and death. The paramedics said if it had been left longer, she would have died.”It’s definitely something in the school.”
Samples of paintwork and new carpets which have been fitted at the school have been taken for tests.

Karrueche Tran has spoken more on her broken relationship with Chris Brown, stating that it has affected the way people view her as well as her career.
In a chit-chat with BBC Radio One’s Newsbeat, she said people say she is famous because of Chris Brown and call her weak:
We’re not friends or anything like that at this point. “A lot of people think I am a weak individual because of past situations and when it comes to business sometimes people don’t want to be involved with somebody like that, which is understandable, but it sucks, because I’m not a weak person.
It’s these people who sit behind their phones and just say mean things, just because.”I feel like I shouldn’t have to explain myself to anybody because this is my life and I can do whatever I want.
But in the same breath, it’s like, now that I am trying to focus on my career and get my stuff together, I have to clear up certain things.
“Negative stuff was being said and being brought up. A lot of people were like ‘She’s only famous because of Chris Brown’. “I used to date him, and now as I am growing into myself and maturing and getting my career together, I am starting to have my own name without having to be associated.”
Rafiu Olusamokun, a 42-year-old man, has been apprehended by the custody of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly producing fake foreign and local currencies, which allegedly run into millions of naira.
It’s learnt that Olusamokun, an indigene of Owo, Ondo State, was arrested by the police in his house at Ayidolapo Street, in the Ikotun area of the state.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the suspect, who was a motor mechanic before allegedly venturing into production of fake currencies, worked with some people who were still at large.
It was learnt that the police recovered an iron box full of fake dollars, pounds and naira notes from Olusamokun. Some materials such as cotton wool, paints and oil, allegedly used in the production of the money, were also recovered by the police.
Speaking with PUNCH Metro, the suspect said he was introduced into the business by some men who claimed to have newly returned from Europe.
Olusamokun said the men brainwashed him and forced him to pay about N600,000 to purchase the materials to produce the fake currencies.
He said:
“I met those people early this year. I was working as a motor mechanic, and I just ran into them. They said they recently returned from Europe.
When I visited them at a hotel in the Bar Beach, Victoria Island area, they brought out the samples of the currencies they had, and said I could produce same if I wanted to become wealthy.
“I was immediately interested. A friend, Sule Sulaimon, who went with me, also became interested. Their leader said all I needed to do was to purchase the chemicals from them. He said I should bring N1m, but I eventually paid N650,000 for the chemicals.
“I did not know the samples they gave me were fake; the papers looked so original. I first gave him N400,000, and then N250,000. He said I could reproduce as much hard currencies as I wanted from the materials I had.
“The currencies recovered from my house runs into millions, but I was not through with the reproduction. If I had finished with it, I would have been a wealthy man. I would have evaded the arrest.”
A police source told Punch that Olusamokun was to give part of the money reproduced to the syndicate, so that he could be given more materials. He added that the police were still on the trail of the group.
“The syndicate gave him the materials and the currencies to wash into original. The money is actually worth millions. He was producing €100 and €200 and pounds. The police found the fake cash in his house,” he said.
The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said the suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigations were over.
So a presumably ignorant twitter follower called out Maybach Music artiste, WALE, for calling himself Olu, telling the US Born rapper, who originates from Ondo State, Nigeria, to remove the name because he is not “Nas”, (A classic US rapper who many presume is also Nigerian).
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has disclosed that 70 per cent of inmates in prisons across the country are awaiting trial.
The commission’s Assistant Director, Investigation and Coordination, Mrs Morphy Okwa, revealed this while presenting a report at a stakeholders’ validation of the 2014 prison audit report and 2015 election report.
Okwa noted that though prisons in six states were visited in the last exercise, a compilation of reports from previous visits informed the current situation.
“It was found that there were 240 prison institutions spread across Nigeria as follows: 138 main prisons, 85 satellites, 14 Farm Centres, and 3 borstal institutions
“That the prisons have 268 vehicles serving various prisons that serve 5022 courts in the 774 Local Government Areas.“The total prison population in Nigeria is 56,718, comprising – 17,686 convicts (4,000 lifers; 1,612 condemned convicts) and 39,032 Awaiting Trial Persons.“Meanwhile, the population of the prison personnel is put at 28,065.’’
She also noted that some of the inmates living in the same cells suffered from terminal diseases, mental illness, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
Okwa described the facilities at the prisons as “deplorable and overstretched“, with most of the prisons overloaded. Speaking with newsmen on the sideline of the presentation, Mr Tony Ojukwu, the commission’s Director of Monitoring, said that the Administration of Criminal Justice law needed to be complied with to address the inadequacies identified.
“The high number of awaiting trial inmates is a clear indication of the failure of the criminal justice administration system because the prisons are meant for convicts, but you find out at the end of the day that more than 70 per cent of the people there are awaiting trial inmates.
“This is because their cases are not going on in court or they are not moving as fast as possible so that as people are coming in they are going out.
“A situation where somebody is supposed to stay two years in prison for instance if convicted, but has stayed five years while awaiting trial.
“What kind of compensation will you give to him if at the end, considering the fact that our constitution says that you are innocent until proven guilty.
“What happens if a man or woman who has been kept in trial for five years is now proven innocent?
“That means he has stayed in detention for five years for nothing or for an offence he did not commit.
“So we think that the criminal justice administration should be improved.’’

In line with former Super Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama‘s retirement from the team, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has insisted they will not talk to Vincent Enyeama, about returning to the Super Eagles.
News Agency of Nigeria, NAN reports that spokesman for the NFF, Ademola Olajire, was quoted as saying:
“We heard about his quitting the national team on his Instagram page. If somebody says he is retiring from the national team, what are we going to do, to beg him?”
“We don’t know if he is leaving the national team because of his quarrel with the coach (Sunday Oliseh). He just wrote on his Instagram page that he was leaving the national team. So, why should we be finding out whether he left because of the rift?
“The player has gone out of the camp, what do you want us to do. He has left the camp and he did not tell anybody that he was leaving.”
The super Eagles, yesterday, lost 2-0 in a friendly match with Congo. A lot of Nigerian fans speculate Enyeama’s absence contributed to their loss.

The year after winning the reality television show was a bit tough for the Cross Rivers born artiste but he was able to find his feet with the release of his second album after being signed to Ubi Franklin’s Triple MG record label.
Now, Iyanya is a mega star with a body most ladies drool over and his third studio album which was recently released in September, has been enjoying rave reviews.
He boasts of mult-million Naira endorsements with the likes of MTN and Solo Phones.
As a guy or lady, it kinda pays to have or be a side chick. The reasons are not far fetched……….
1. It’s acceptable by the society. We don’t want to call it cheating, and more importantly, we need to make it seem right. So a nice name had to be given.
It’s like saying baby daddy instead of ‘out of wedlock”. In the real sense of it, a side chick is another lady you are seeing or dating.
It’s a funkified and refurbished word for cheating. Since the society frowns at cheating, we get someone who is just like an assistant girlfriend.
2. Lesser drama: The main bae is consoled that she’s got number 1 spot, and so can careless about the side ones.
And from the side chick’s perspective, she knows she isn’t he main, and doesn’t have to bother herself about mundane, petty and trivial issues. As a guy, you eat your cake and have it.
Lucky guys would be side dude to a side chick. This just makes it even. Just be careful to not rub it in the face of the side chick that she’s on the side.
Every woman has a favourite way she wears her bras. This pattern obviously developed overtime and it stuck like glue. But recent study says the way a woman wears her bra may explain what her personality is like.
According to a body language and human behavior expert,Patti Wood, the bra a woman woman puts on says a lot on who she really is. A woman may be a driver, influencer, supporter or careful-corrector.
According to YourTango, here are kinds of personality depending on the way you wear a bra.
1. Driver: If you love a bra with a clasp in front, you are a driver. Drivers aren’t used to wasting time. They love to buy things of good quality, make smart decisions and rarely criticize themselves.
2. Supporter: A woman who wears a bra with clasp at the back, then clasps it in the back is a supporter.
She kind of woman loves to help people, she very good at getting along with everyone and is always prepared in case of emergencies.

Following the reports of newly elected Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh, who made quite an adjustment in the Super Eagles team by replacing their captain, Vincent Enyeama, he, on Wednesday explained why he carried out such an act.
His move ignited a serious quarrel between the coach and his goalkeeper on Tuesday in Belgium where the Nigerian team are camping.
In an exclusive interview with PUNCH, the Eagles coach revealed he chose Ahmed Musa as the new captain because he wanted a player that was not set to retire.
“A lot is built around the captain and the way he carries on with the job means a lot to the team. A captain (Vincent Enyeama) who has said many times that he was retiring. From the onset he told me that and he has continued to say that. Now we are rebuilding a team to last over a long period of time.
“In his absence Musa stepped in and he did the job perfectly. Vincent has done his bit and I felt we could start a transition period but instead he tried to make it his right to remain as the captain. But it is not his prerogative to decide who leads the team. It does not happen anywhere.”
The coach said that everything said in the course of argument was basically on the team and football. He said he was alarmed when other stories were added to it.
“It was simply an attempt to whip up emotions that created other matters; issues were introduced unfairly into the matter,” he said.
In response, Enyeama told Punch:
”Everything is okay now, there are no problems. I’m not against anybody being captain of the team but I deserve an explanation.
“Even in your house, when your father suddenly says, ‘go and sleep,’ you will want to know why the sudden decision was taken. I always want to give my best to my country but in situations like these, I deserve an explanation. I don’t want to say much because I will talk at the appropriate time.”
A member of a neighbourhood watch, Ogundare Ekundayo, has reportedly accidentally shot himself dead when he tried to scare away thieves from the Ebute-Meta area of Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro reports that the deceased was among a three-man team guarding Osholanke Street, Ebute Meta. There were, however, two of them on duty on the fateful day.
It was gathered that around 4am, when they were expected to round off work, Ekundayo reportedly shot into the air to scare away lurking thieves as was the guards’ custom.
As he fired a shot, the bullet hit an object which ricocheted it towards him. The bullet was said to have struck him in the head.
His duty colleague, Fatai Raimi, reportedly ran to the spot upon hearing the shot, and discovered the victim dead.
The police arrested Raimi, who insisted that he was innocent. He said:
“I have known the deceased for some time now. He was my boss; he recruited me into the vigilance group, but we were employed by the community.
“There were three of us guarding Osholanke Street, but the third person did not come that day because he was ill. My master (Ekundayo) and I were together, but when it was getting to 4am, he went down the street alone.
“I suddenly heard a shot from his gun and I rushed there only to see he had mistakenly shot himself dead.”
A source told PUNCH Metro that the victim was not properly trained on how to use a gun. The source said the police were investigating how he came by the gun he was using for his job.
“The man was not trained to use a gun. He did not handle it well and when he opened fire, apparently to tell the residents they were done for the day and to scare any thief, the bullet hit him instead.
“But one thing that is also not clear is how the man and his team had access to a gun. We are investigating all these.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the police could not conduct an autopsy on the victim due to the pressure from his relatives who wanted him buried.
His corpse was said to have been released to the family for burial, while the suspect was transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation.
