Afrobeat superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he landed his first endorsement deal worth millions of naira at the age of 17.

The ‘Timeless’ hitmaker stated this during a recent interview while speaking on his career progression over the years.

According to Davido, telecommunications giant, MTN, offered him a lucrative endorsement deal worth N20 million when he was just a teenager.

He stated that N20m was a lot of money for him at the time as he had only two successful songs making the airwaves. He added that the experience opened his eyes to the immense financial possibilities within the music industry.

Following the offer, the 30-year-old singer finally developed the confidence to pitch his music career to his dad, who bought into his vision and built a studio for him.

Controversial Nigerian clergyman, Emmanuel Okose, formerly known as Soul E, has advised men to leave a woman alone if they cannot take cater for her needs.

He stated this in a video shared on his social media page recently. According to him, women are not designed to work and provide for their personal needs, but they are forced to work because of the financial insecurity of their partners.

He said that he has travelled to 56 countries around the world and has come to understand that women don’t want to work but want to be cared for by a man. Additionally, he stated that no matter how rich a woman is, she still wants the money of a man.

Nigerian rapper, Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has revealed that he will eventually get married, but it will be a different kind of marriage.

The Hip Hop artist claimed that out of personal choice, he does not want to be in the same room with his wife.

Blaqbonez stated this while appearing as a guest on The Nancy Isime Show, where he also tactfully tried shooting his shot, and said he would not mind having such an arrangement with the actress if she is open to it.

The “Haba” crooner claimed that in order to accommodate their distinct characteristics, he and his wife would have separate rooms.

Blaqbonez continued by using the example of how he preferred a dark room while his wife could have preferred a pink-colored room. He added that he has a certain aesthetic for his bathroom and does not want items to be dispersed everywhere.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has revealed that popular businessman, Aliko Dangote came to the State empty-handed but is now the richest man in Africa.

Babajide Samwo-Olu said this at the commissioning of the biggest single-train refinery in the world, the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals, in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.

“Dangote came to Lagos with nothing about 45 years ago, but he is now Africa’s richest man,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu asserted that Dangote has made significant contributions to the state and made investments to ensure Nigeria and the state’s economic growth.

This statement came from the governor of Lagos State after industrialist and entrepreneur Aliko Dangote praised the state’s leadership and President-elect H.E. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for creating the Lekki Free Zone and seeing to the project’s successful completion.

The Nigerian movie industry has once again been thrown into mourning following the death of one of its prominent veteran actors, Prince Adewale Adeyemo.

The actor passed away on Monday morning, May 22, after a brief illness.

Nollywood actor, Kunle Afod broke the sad news on his Instagram page moments ago. He shared a picture of the deceased and prayed that God comforts his family and colleagues.

“He passed on early hours of today after a brief illness. God will comfort all his family, friends and colleagues.” Afod wrote.

This comes hours after the Yoruba movie industry held a night of tribute for the late Murphy Afolabi, who died on Sunday May 14, 2023.

In other news, a Nigerian man has taken to Twitter to recount how his ex-wife tore their marriage certificate just six weeks after their wedding.

The man, identified as @kinggElyon on the micro-blogging platform, shared this while commenting on a viral tweet about women’s incapability of loving men.

Recounting his experience, kingg Elyon claimed that he was at work when his wife sent him pictures of the torn certificate.

According to him, she tore the certificate because he had ignored her for two days. When someone asked why he had ignored her for two days, he explained that she had starved his mother and went to the gym on a Saturday morning.

He further mentioned that it has been six months since they went their separate ways.

Nigerian chef and restauranteur, Hilda Bassey Effiong, popularly known as Hilda Baci, has caused a huge stir online after she spent over N1.1 million on brunch with her friends.

Hilda Baci recently gained popularity after cooking non-stop for 100 hours in a bid to set a new world record for the longest cooking time by an individual.

Following the remarkable feat, the food blogger attended a special thanksgiving service at her church on Sunday, May 21, to express gratitude to God for the successful cookathon. She also shared a testimony about how the grace of God sustained her throughout the process.

After the church service, Hilda treated her friends to a delightful Sunday brunch at a popular restaurant in Lagos, Nigeria, and had them order whatever they wanted from the menu.

A close friend of the famous chef took to TikTok to share a video of their outing, and revealed that they spent the whooping sum of N1.1m on brunch.

The lady, who goes by the handle @kimmytrends, showed off a receipt reflecting the said amount and disclosed that Hilda Baci paid the bill.

A Nigerian woman who left her cheating husband after only ten months of marriage has advised women not to stay with a cheating partner.

The woman, identified as @Toksyk27 on Twitter, took to the micro-blogging platform to give this advise on Sunday, March 21.

She said she would have dumped her husband two weeks into the marriage because their union was a nightmare but she stayed back due to their family intervention. However, she eventually mustered courage to leave after ten months.

Speaking from her experience, Toks advised women not to stay and endure infidelity and abuse in their marriages.

She tweeted,

Popular Nollywood star, Ini Edo, has declared herself the best actress and best-dressed female celebrity at the recently concluded Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA).

Ini Edo took to her Instagram page to state this after failing to win any award at the award show which took place at Eko Hotel and Suites over the weekend.

Recall that Ini Edo was nominated alongside Bimbo Ademoye, Enado Odigie, Osas Ighodaro, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Ini Dima-Okojie, Immaculate Oko Kasum, Nimo Loveline, Queen Nwokoye, Scarlet Gomez, for the Best Actress in a Drama category.

However, Osas Ighodaro beat the other actresses to emerge winner of the category for her stellar acting performance in ‘Man of God’. This is her second win in a row.

Following the award ceremony, Ini Edo, who appears to be upset by Osas’ win, went online to say she believes she is the best actress in the award category.

The ‘Shanty Town’ actress also declared herself the best dressed female celebrity, which reality TV star, Beauty Tukura, won on Saturday.

The organizers of the African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) have been called out for always snubbing Asaba-based actors such as Yul Edochie, Junior Pope, and Destiny Etiko, on a yearly basis.

Disgruntled Nigerians took to social media to express their displeasure with AMVCA for not giving recognition to the actors, despite airing their movies on their platforms.

This comes after the 9th edition of the award show which took place at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos over the weekend, and saw Bimbo Ademoye, Broda Shaggi, BBNaija stars, and other celebrities win big.

Following the show, some Twitter users took to the microblogging platform to slamm the organizers of the award show for failing to recognize and nominate Destiny Etiko and her colleagues in Asaba and the Eastern part of Nigeria.

Nollywood actress Annie Idibia has defended her husband, the legendary singer 2Baba, stating that the public narrative about him is wrong.

Speaking on the latest season of the popular Netflix reality series “Young, Famous & African,” the mother of two emphasized that it is erroneous for people to sell the narrative that her husband has children with several women.

Annie clarified that her husband, the African Queen star only has five children with two other women besides herself.

She emphasized that the notion of him fathering children indiscriminately, as some claim, is unfounded.
