“Why I don’t post my husband on social media” – Comedienne, Kiekie (Video)

Popular Nigerian comedienne and brand influencer, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, better known as Kiekie, has revealed why she does not post pictures of her husband on her social media accounts.

The mother of one disclosed this in a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo.

According to her, her social media accounts are primarily for business purposes, and since her husband is not part of her business, she prefers to keep him out of the spotlight.

“I don’t share my husband on Instagram not because I’m hiding him but because my Instagram is a business Instagram. My husband is not part of my business. He doesn’t collect a salary. What ‘consine’ him?” She said.

Speaking on why she decided to unveil him when they welcomed their baby, she added,

“But I’m pregnant and I wanted to share it, it’s not me that ‘pregnant’ by myself. It was a collaboration and he’s alive and we’re not fighting so why not. So when we had the baby and were going to do Thanksgiving, it was a family.

“But before you see him again, it will be a while. Only maybe if we born another child again sha…cause my birthday is MY birthday. I don’t see the need to post him on his birthday because he’s not even on Instagram.

“So the person I want to wish didn’t dey there. So I should now be wishing him for you…why? He’s in my bed. He sleeps there. ‘Sweerie happy birthday to you’. Why do I have to go and tell millions of human beings that he’s doing a birthday?”

EFCC re-arrests Mompha on alleged N6bn money laundering

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have rearrested popular Nigerian socialite Ismaila Mustapha, better known as Mompha.

The anti-graft agency confirmed the development to Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, May 15, 2023.

The EFCC counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, informed the court that the prosecution, in collaboration with its international partners, had secured the arrest of Mompha.

“The prosecution would like to bring to the knowledge of my lord that, in collaboration with our international partners, we have been able to apprehend the defendant. We plan to take him into custody and produce him before the court,” Suleiman said.

Justice Mojisola Dada, thereafter, adjourned the case until July 3 for the continuation of the trial.

In a statement, the commission mentioned that during a hearing on Mompha’s case on June 10, 2022, it informed the court that Mompha possessed another passport, aside from the one submitted to the court as part of his bail conditions.

The commission also informed the court that Mompha had used the same passport to travel from Ghana to Dubai on April 11, 2022, via Emirates Airlines, in violation of the court order.

Consequently, Justice Dada revoked the N25 million bail variation granted to Mompha and issued a bench warrant for his arrest due to his failure to appear in court.

Due to Mompha’s continued absence and the inability of both the prosecution and the defense to produce him in court, Justice Dada ordered on September 22, 2022, that the trial would continue in absentia.

On January 22, 2022, the EFCC had arraigned Mompha and his company, Ismalob Global Investment, on an eight-count charge of N6 billion laundering, to which he pleaded not guilty.

He said;

“You know, the father who has watched a child become very very successful. That’s how it [Afrobeats artists’ growth] feels to me. Nothing gives me more joy.

Recently, actually last year, we went on a family vacation to Europe. We went to five countries. Every single city that we were in, even in Venice where maybe there were only like, two other black people.

We were the only black family in the whole of Venice. We enter the stores and they are playing Afrobeats. From Rema to Joeboy to Fireboy to Burna Boy to Wizkid to Davido to Tiwa Savage everywhere.

We were in Paris listening to the radio, to Latin radio and they were playing Afrobeats. Some of this stuff is mind-blowing if you know what was happening in Nigeria in 1995 or 1997 to 1998. It’s mind-blowing because in Nigeria then you couldn’t hear our own music on Nigerian radio.”

When the police officer got down from the truck, instead of apologizing, he was arguing with Seun, which provoked him to slap the officer.”

Ayo wanted Nigerians to understand that Seun was a human being and that anybody would have reacted in the same way if their family was in danger.

He cautioned police officers against thinking that just because they wear uniforms, they are untouchable.

“People should realize that men on uniforms also provoke civilians. Immunity is no excuse for impunity,” he added.

Solomon Buchi, who also shared his thoughts on the photos, criticized them and stated that there is no difference between Moore’s wife and worldly women. He added that the kind of Christianity being practiced in America is ‘scary’

He wrote, “Why? Why was it necessary? As a big fan from day one, it’s getting difficult to defend him. And some people will read this and accuse me of ‘judging him’ as usual.
American Christianity is scary.”

He added, “I have seen that pregnancy shoot, and I’m not disappointed anymore. That’s a minister’s wife.
There ought to be a high level of differentiation. I keep wondering who they are accountable to, and this isn’t helping the music group too.
Having a heart for God is not enough, there must a clear evidence of consecration.
I honestly hope that he understands this, and that he’d realize that his friends telling him to probably not care are not helping his ministry.”

“Why we’re yet to confirm Hilda Baci’s new record” – Guinness World Records reveals

She shared a post that many people have sent her to justify why the name was wrong for a Muslim and highlighted her thoughts on the issue.

She wrote;

“Tell me why a few people has sent this to me
Check all your other online sources and see if any other scholars have said it’s prohibited.
Does your controversial sheikh know that Noah is Hebrew and so is Yagub and many other names? Does he ignor the good intention behind naming a child after Allahs prophet? Is the language his problem? Then he should be preaching in only Arabic as well.
Do people really think we will name our child a name we haven’t done our research on? Does he actually think people want to blend with disbelievers?? Shocking.

“I do not care what you think about what I call my child. Your thoughts don’t change a thing because this religion is just not as complicated as you make it
I say Islam is not complicated because it literally says the exact names you are not allowed to call your child. It says the preferred names. It says Allah’s favourite names. Please take this time to look those up too so you know.” she added.

“Saint Obi
Gentleman

Dignified.
I recall being at an event in abuja some years ago and we were just catching up and he says to me “bros you nor remember say na you start me on this my journey?” And I was like ‘no way’ and he went on to narrate and he had come to me in the 90s for help and get into the movie industry and I had said I wasn’t doing any film then but I could send him to a friend and brother who did more productions than anyone else at the time and that brother and friend was Zeb EJIRO. I wrote behind my card and off he went and became a big star. The interesting thing then was that Zeb loved him so much he told me I had given him a natural replacement for me in the movies…

Then a few days ago Zik Zulu called and usually when he calls it’s something important. He gave the news of St Obi’s demise. We were both in denial and promised each other to find out more details. Then the news hit me again yesterday… even now it’s still difficult to believe.

Rest in power my brother. My prayers are with the family you’ve left behind. May God give them and us all the fortitude to bear your sudden departure.”

In other news, the Police Service Commission (PSC) has applauded Usman Baba, the inspector general of police, for authorizing Seun Kuti’s arrest for assaulting a police officer who was on duty.

In a video that has gone viral, the Afrobeat musician was seen slapping and pushing the policeman. While slapping the policeman, he repeatedly asked him; ‘You dey mad’?

According to a statement from the PSC chairman, Solomon Arase, no one, including Kuti, has the right to attack a police officer who was doing their legitimate duties.

Insisting that Nigeria is not a Hobbesian state where might make right, Arase scoffed at Kuti’s effrontery in slapping the policeman.

“We must, as civilized people explore established channels of complaints against alleged infractions by law enforcement officials rather than this uncouth behaviour of assaulting the country’s symbol of authority. We look forward to the prompt prosecution of Kuti to act as a deterrent to others,” Arase was quoted in the statement issued by PSC’s spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani.

According to Ani, Arase praised the police officer for resisting being roused by the behavior of his adversary; he claimed that this outcome would have been deadly.
