Rivers landlord allegedly hacks couple with machete after the woman “refused his advances”
A landlord, simply identified as Alabo, is currently at large after allegedly hacking his tenant and her fiancé with a machete.
On Sunday, May 15, the landlord, who owns a house at Ekwulobia Street, Mile 3, Diobu in Port Harcourt City Local Council of Rivers State, allegedly attacked a lady named Comfort and her boyfriend, Stanley Nwagadi, with a machete, purportedly out of jealously.
Alabo is accused of making sexual approaches toward Comfort and criticizing her for feeding a “jobless” guy in her house.
According to Comfort, who’s currently receiving treatment at the hospital, a quarrel ensued on Sunday morning when she washed and spread her clothes on the line, and the landlord, who also resides in the compound, removed her clothes and threw them on the ground.
Comfort said her fiancé overheard the landlord’s remark, and this led to an exchange of words between them. She added that the co-tenants broke up the fight, and she left the compound with her man almost immediately.
The couple said they had no knowledge Alabo had sharpened a machete and was waiting for them when they returned to the compound. Comfort claimed that as soon as she and her fiance entered the compound, the landlord approached her with a machete and cut her numerous times.
She stated that when she went to pick up the clothes, the landlord, in his ‘usual manner,’ started to verbally abuse her, saying,“instead of man to keep you at home, you are throwing yourself at a man.”
She added that her fiancé, Stanley who ran to save her on hearing her screams, was also cut on his head and hand before the suspect ran away.
Stanley Nwagadi, called for the arrest and prosecution of the landlord.
The Rivers State Police Command confirmed that the landlord is on the run, but they assured that he would be arrested and made to face justice.

Delta state police command, DSP Bright Edafe, recently took to his Instant Messaging platform to share the story of how an internet fraudster popularly referred to as Yahoo boy, snitched on another Yahoo boy for scamming his Russian ‘woman.’
In a series of posts on his Whatsapp status, Edafe shared screenshots of his conversation with the complainant and with the Russian lady who was scammed. In the chat, Edafe advised the Russian lady to run away from the complainant who he says is pretending to be her friend as he is a scammer as well.

In related news, Operatives of the Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested one Afolabi Samad, owner of a Yahoo Yahoo Academy in Abuja.
Spokesperson for the zonal command, Wilson Uwujaren said ;
“The owner of the alleged Academy rented the 3 bedroom flat for Three Million Naira to impact the tricks of cyber-frauds on his apprentices for undisclosed fees.
Item recovered from the suspects include laptops, phones, charms and two vehicles: a Lexus RX350 and Toyota Highlander.

The Grammy winner, who made this revelation in his upcoming A & E Biography docuseries, believes the trauma was one of the reasons he abused drugs and alcohol.
According to him, he was sent to a religious facility by social services after witnessing his mother, Carole, being beaten and arrested by police.
“It wasn’t a very nice place to be for a child,” Bobby said.

NDLEA arrests wanted ‘drug baroness’ in Delta state, seals her palatial mansion and drug bunks
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested a wanted drug baroness, Bridget Oghenekevwe Emeka, popularly known as Mama, in Delta State.
The 59-year-old woman is said to be the backbone behind a major drug cartel in charge of distributing hard drugs in Delta and other neighboring states.
According to a statement released by Femi Babafemi, the Spokesperson of NDLEA, on Tuesday, May 17, the suspect was picked up at her palatial mansion where she cooks and distributes Crack Cocaine, Methamphetamine and other illicit substances on Sunday, May 15.
The statement reads,
“No fewer than nine of her staff and associates were arrested along with her in coordinated simultaneous operations at her expansive residence and drug bunks where accommodates drug users and sells illicit substances to them and others in parts of Warri, Delta state.
“Apart from various quantities of Crack Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Molly, and Loud seized from her home and drug bunks; a pump action gun, 15 cartridges, documents, two cars, mobile phones, drug paraphernalia such as sodium bicarbonate and polythene wrappings were also recovered for further investigation.
“While five of her staff that cook, cut, package and distribute the drugs were found in her house located at Favour Street, Otukutu, Effurun Warri, four of her associates were equally arrested at her drug bunks in other parts of the town during the raids by Strike Force officers of NDLEA supported by the military.
“The drug baroness has been under surveillance for weeks after her identification as a major distributor of illicit drugs in the South South state. Bridget cooks Cocaine into Crack Cocaine for local distribution and consumption in drug joints.
‘Some of the paraphernalia for making Crack recovered from her house include: sodium bicarbonate, which is the main adulterant and recipe for making crack cocaine, as well as transparent nylon used in wrapping the finished product.”
The Chairman of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa, has applauded all the officers involved in the processes leading to the arrest of the cartel mastermind.

Soldiers reportedly fire gunshots to disperse students protesting against ASUU strike in Akure (videos)
Students who were protesting against the lingering ASUU strike in Akure were reportedly dispersed by men of the Nigerian Army on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, May 17 students from three universities in Ondo state barricaded the Ilesha/Akure expressway to protest their forced stay at home owing to strike action.
According to viral reports, soldiers came to the protest scene and fired gunshots into the air to disperse the protesting students.
Videos circulating on social media shows students scampering for safety as the soldiers fire gunshots to frighten them away from the road.

A fox recently broke into the house of an African family and made itself comfortable in their living room, however, the mother of the house felt disturbed by the unusual occurrence and confronted the wild animal.
A video showing the moment the African mom tackled the fox has been shared online, and it has stirred hilarious reactions on social media.
In the video, the mom could be heard speaking in tongues as she confronted the fox sitting on the living room floor.

Nigerian music video director and cinematographer, TG Omori, has said people should do away with cameras when helping the needy.
Omori, who stated this in a tweet on Tuesday, May 17, while addressing several societal issues, said acts of giving or helping the poor shouldn’t be publicized.
According to him, oftentimes, the poor have no choice and are forced to live at the mercy of the wealthy.

Grace David Bolu, the wife of the Sound Engineer, David Imoh, who was lynched and set ablaze by commercial motorcyclists in the Lekki area of Lagos state over N100, has spoken up.
The mum of two granted an interview with Guardian NG, where she explained what transpired on the tragic day of the incident.
The 36-year-old, who works as a senior Technical Officer at Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ikorodu, Lagos, disclosed that the incident happened on Thursday, May 12.
According to her, the claims that her husband was a passenger of the motorcyclist is false, as he only came out to help his colleagues who were being beaten by the motorcyclists.
She also alleged that Beer Barn, the social pub where her husband went to play on that ill-fated day, turned him away when he tried to run inside to escape the angry mob.
Her words:
“I got to know about the incident on May 13, 2022, through his colleague, Melvin. I was in the church at Ajao Estate when the call came in.
“My husband only came out of Beer Barn to intervene when his colleagues were being beaten over N100 change and they started calling them yahoo boys and ritualists.
“My husband was inside the bar setting up instruments, while two of his colleagues were the ones that patronized the motorcyclist and had an argument with the motorcyclist over N100.
“The motorcyclist had agreed to convey them to their destination for a fee of N400, but they gave the bike man N500. He told them he does not have N100 balance and Dave’s colleagues persuaded him to accept N300, which was the only change with them with the promise to balance him N100 next time they come to the area to play, but motorcyclist refused. So, they started arguing.
“When the situation degenerated, some people ran inside to call the rest of the members of Legacy 360 band, which my husband was part of. They stepped out with the hope of rescuing them, but when they got there, they discovered that riders were more than the number they could handle. My husband and others ran back into the bar, but instead of the manager to help them, he sent my husband back that he doesn’t know him.
“When the manager pushed my husband out, his other colleagues were rescued, they unleashed the anger of not catching his colleagues on him.”
“My husband was not just beaten, they put tyres on him as if he was a robber.
The bereaved woman, who is still shaken by the sad incident, described her husband as a loving and caring husband and father who would go any length to help people.
Grace, who disclosed that their first son, Samuel, is five years old and their second son, one year and five-month old, said her husband was very hardworking and was working two jobs to fend for their family, and now he has been gruesomely murdered.
Lamenting over the heartbreaking circumstances she has found herself, the said,
“I’m a civil servant, how much is my pay to take care of my children? My marriage of nine years has just ended.”
“The Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, should come to my aid and help my children.
“I need justice for my husband, this must not be swept under the carpet. He was my support. I just finished my Post Graduate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering at Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).”

In a latest ‘pregnancy will humble you’ trend, a Nigerian woman has left social media users in disbelief with the drastic difference in her looks before and after pregnancy.
Peju, a Nigerian woman, took to social media to share photos of her face after and during pregnancy, and it’s fair to say she doesn’t look like the same person in the photos.
“This is me, and the second picture is also me, pregnancy ehn, ki Oluwa saanu,” she captioned the photos.
Peju had tanned skin with prominent tribal marks in the photo taken during her pregnancy, while she had a radiant fair complexion after pregnancy, with her tribal scars barely visible.
Addressing those who believe makeup is responsible for the contrast in the photos, Peju wrote,
“For those saying makeup covered my tribal marks in the first picture, except for lip gloss, I didn’t use makeup in the first picture, also my tribal marks are not noticeable until you move close to me, the tribal marks became noticeable in pregnancy because I got dark and fat.”

Student reportedly dies, partner in coma after marathon intercourse in Ibadan (video)
Oromidayo Daniel, a young Nigerian man, is said to have died and his partner is in a coma following a marathon intercourse in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
According to viral reports, the lovebirds, who are alleged students of the Ibadan Polytechnic, were found unconscious in their apartment on Monday, May 16. While Daniel was confirmed dead, his partner Aramide is said to have slipped into a coma and was rushed to the University Teaching Hospital.
According to Sahara reporters, the lovers engaged in a sex romp after they came back from the campus on Monday.
“He is in my Faculty. Yesterday was supposed to be the day we start our examinations but the school was closed down. There was protest yesterday; so he and his girlfriend went back home. They drugged themselves and started having sex. The guy is dead now and the babe who is in a coma is at the University College Hospital”, a neighbor of the deceased said.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports claim that the lovebirds took sex-enhancing medications and slumped after many rounds of sex, albeit the cause of Daniel’s death is yet unknown.

A while ago, Helen Paul took to her social media page to share how she hid her truth from the public after surviving a car accident.
She shared a photo of when she had a ‘black eye’ and disclosed that she was involved in a car accident in Abuja and she had a concussion in the head. Thankfully, she’s better now and she thanked God for her life.

“My father has been held hostage by kidnappers for over 2 weeks” – Actor Uche Odoputa cries out
Nollywood actor, Uche Odoputa, has pleaded with well-meaning Nigerians to pray for the safe return of his father, who has been kidnapped for two weeks.
The thespian took to his Instagram page on Monday, May 16 to raise an alarm over his father’s abduction.
Sharing a photo of himself and his dad, the actor wrote,
“Friends please join me in praying for my father safe return from the hands of kidnappers that took him for over 2weeks now 🙏 Mr Kenneth odoputa.”
In other news, a fatal explosion has occurred at a primary school on Aba Road, Sabon Gari area of Kano State and many children are feared injured and even worse, dead.
According to some videos that have been shared on micro-blogging website, Twitter, it happened in the early hours of Tuesday, May 17th 2022.
It was later confirmed by the police that the explosion was caused by a leak from a Gas Cylinder.

Man begs for forgiveness after sexually harassing a lady inside a commercial bus in Lagos (video)
A man was confronted after he reportedly sexually harassed a female passenger on a commercial bus in Lagos.
According to a Twitter user named Efyaa, who shared the incident on the micro-blogging platform, the incident happened on Tuesday, May 17, on a bus from Ogba to the Obalende area of the state.
She noted that the man was touching a female passenger who sat beside him on the bus inappropriately when she gave him a slap on the face and he tried to retaliate.
Efyaa said when all the other female passengers on the bus accosted him, the man admitted harassing the lady and started begging for forgiveness.
Sharing a photo of the man and video proof, Efyaa wrote,
“Today I entered a bus with a sexual predator and I’ll appreciate if you could to please repost this. You’ll know why amplifying this tweet is very important by the end of this thread. Here’s the face of said predator.
Another video proof of him begging the lady- He eventually admitted guilt and was saying he’s using God to beg us. Oh yeah, next time think about God before you do something so stupid!.
We couldn’t get his name by the end of our trip and he sped away. All the men in the bus who could overpower him said nothing and let him leave. The driver said nothing as well. When the lady admonished the driver, a passenger (man) in the front insulted her to say.. See the body you’re using to shout sef’. Let that sit in! A lady in the bus gave her contact of someone in human rights but with so little info about him. It might be hard to find him.

“Female suspect conspired with others to murder Abuja corps member to separate her from her lover” – Police
Three suspects arrested in connection with the murder of a female corps member, Stephenie Terungwa, in Abuja, were paraded at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command on Monday.
Stephanie was declared missing after leaving home for her Community Development Service (CDS) in April, she was later found dead, with her body mutilated.
The three suspects identified as Jennifer Tsembe, 26, Monday Simon (a.k.a Black) 36, and Solomon Abu, 35, all residents of Oguta lake Maitama area of the FCT voluntarily stated their involvement in the murder.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Sunday Babaji, who spoke to newsmen, revealed that the female suspect, Jennifer, conspired with the other two male suspects and murdered the victim so as to be with the victim’s partner, Edward Achadu.
The police said Jennifer who is Edward’s alleged ‘estranged lover,’ poured corrosive substance on Stephanie in a bid to separate her from Edward.
The CP said the Maitama Division had on April 15, received information about the body of a middle-aged lady lying on the road.
Following the receipt of the information, Babaji said, crime scene investigators (CSI) were quickly dispatched to the area and transferred the body to the hospital, where a doctor on duty verified her death.
He stated the initial attempt to profile the victim’s face failed owing to her disfigured face, which he felt was caused by exposure to a corrosive substance.
According to the CP, a discreet inquiry revealed that the dead is Terungwa Stephenie, a 26-year-old Corp member who lived with Edward Achadu at City Homes estate Lokogoma.
He said it was discovered that she left home with her one year and five-months-old son on April 14 and never returned home. A day later, the son was recovered at Holy Trinity Catholic Church upon a call placed through to one of the Paternal relatives.
The CP stated that discrete and painstaking Investigations by Tactical and Intelligence assets of the Command attached to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) led to the arrest of three suspects.
Babaji said the suspects criminally conspired and murdered the victim to separate her from Edward Achadu to pave way for the female suspect and estranged lover of Edward, Jennifer Temba, to have him to herself.
According to him, investigation has been intensified to reveal groundbreaking facts that could lead to the arrest of fleeing participant(s) in this criminal act.
He said the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion the investigation.
However, the female suspect told newsmen that the deceased only came to her house to collect phone the day she was found dead and denied any involvement in the act.
She said the male suspects were the ones that told her that they wanted to kidnap the deceased to demand for ransom.

American rapper, Jonathan Lyndale Kirk popularly known as Dababy, is currently in the busy city of Lagos, Nigeria, to shoot a music video with singer and entertainer, Davido.
Dababy arrived the country on Monday, May 16, and was welcomed to the metropolitan state by a mammoth crowd who began shouting his name when they recognized who he was.
The rapper, who was walking with a group of bouncers and security officials, filmed a video of the young men hailing him and shared it on his Instastory.
He also threw some money in the air to appreciate them for the warm reception they gave him.
However, one of the bouncers was heard advising him to hold onto his phone tightly before it gets snatched by one of the fans.
“Hold your phone tight”, the bouncer screamed.
It was gathered that Dababy was headed to Davido’s house in Banana Island, Lagos state, when he was accosted by the fans.

Nigerian mum writes JAMB with her son to motivate him to study harder, they both aced the exam
A Nigerian mum, identified as Michelle Buchi, has revealed the step she took to motivate her son to study hard for his Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, JAMB, exam.
The proactive mum disclosed that she decided to also take the exam so they could compete for the highest score in JAMB, in order to motive him to study harder.
Michelle took to Facebook to disclose that she wrote the exam on Tuesday, May 10, after over a decade of completing her education.
She shared the sacrifices and stress she underwent to prepare for the exam, whilst still running her business and thankfully, it paid off.
JAMB results were released over the weekend and both mother and son aced the exams. Her son, Precious scored 243 while she scored 230.
Taking to Facebook on Wednesday, May 11, Michelle wrote,
“I wrote JAMB yesterday!
Oh yes! After many years of graduation.
My JAMB examination challenge ended yesterday. I didn’t want to discuss it until I accomplish it😂😂
It was a challenge with a son of mine. I was tired of teaching, instructing and advising on the need for study time creation.
Boom! I decided to register for JAMB in order to compete with his score line😂😂 Funnily, it made the young man to sit up when he saw me reading, browsing for points and sharing ideas with him😍😍
As an art student, I had to make efforts to study the latest recommended African/non African literary – novels, plays, poems etc from 2022 – 2025🥺🥺. I must confess, it wasn’t easy. But it was worth it 🍉🍉
Right now, everyone is waiting for JAMB results to be released so that the challenge will be completed. I pray we both cross the margin line successfully because there is a reward attached to the highest JAMB score💃💃💃🎉

Nigerian singer, Davido’s daughter, Imade, recently posed an interesting question to her mum, Sophia Momodu, about her love life.
The mother of one had announced that she was single during a live session with her fans and followers on Instagram.
The inquisitive 7-year-old who was there when her mum noted that she’s single went on to ask if her superstar dad is the man in her mum’s life.
“Mummy, who’s the man in your life? Is it my daddy?” Imade asked.
Sophie then burst out laughing at her daughter’s question before clarifying that she’s indeed single.

Married couple of 40 years beat cancer after being diagnosed just five months apart
A sexagenarian couple, Mrs. Diane Boothby and Paul Boothby have beat cancer after being diagnosed just five months apart
Mrs. Diane Boothby, 63, of Downham Market, Norfolk, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer barely five months after her husband, Paul Boothby, 69, had a colon cancer diagnosis.
“I went from caring for someone with cancer to being someone with cancer — and Paul went from being someone with cancer to caring for someone with cancer. You have to push how you’re feeling to get diagnosed — if I’d left it and left it, who knows what could have happened.” She said.
The pair, who married in November 1978, were resolved to beat cancer and celebrate their 43rd wedding anniversary together.
“We’ve been married forty three years and haven’t celebrated our last wedding anniversary yet — we’ve still got lots to celebrate.” She added.
Mr Boothby had been diagnosed in August 2021 after a routine check-up showed he had stage three bowel cancer, the final stage before it spreads around the body.
Despite fighting his own battle, he pushed his wife to get tested privately, worried that she would have to go through something similar.
Mr. Boothby had been feeling more tired than usual but didn’t think he was suffering from stage three cancer. After his diagnosis, he convinced his wife, who had in fact been struggling with health problems for some time, to get tested as well.
Mr. Boothby underwent surgery to remove part of his bowel in September 2021 and began chemotherapy to remove any remaining tumours.
Mrs. Boothby took her husband’s recommendations and began seeing specialists while caring for him. After suffering from significant bloating, she was eventually diagnosed with malignant ovarian cysts.
In December 2021, Mrs Boothby underwent surgery to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes. When her symptoms persisted, her husband, who was still undergoing chemo at the time, persuaded her to spend the £190 for a private scan.
Mrs Boothby was diagnosed with early-stage ovarian cancer, much to their surprise.
To avoid the disease spreading to other sections of her reproductive system, Mrs Boothby had a thorough hysterectomy in March.
The couple are now cancer-free.
“We’re traumatized at the moment – we both feel more emotional and traumatized about it [now] than we actually did at the time when we were going through it.” Mrs Boothby said.

Rada, the fiancé of popular Ghanaian-American comedian, Michael Blackson, has disclosed why she allows him have one side chic a month.
It can be recalled that in June 2021, Michael proposed to Rada during an appearance on “The Breakfast Club” and revealed that even though he’s getting married to her, she has given him permission to have one sidepiece a month.
Rada, speaking on this controversial arrangement in a recent interview, explained why she decided to let him have sexual rendezvous with any woman of his choice every month.
According to her, she has been in several relationships and sex becomes boring after a while, and she permitted him to have side chics to bring new “excitement” to their relationship.
The interviewer then posed the same question at Michael, asking if he would allow Rada have a side dude, but he immediately shut down the idea.
