A lady has reached out to the public to help locate a keke driver who stole over ₦90,000 of cake-making supplies and goods.

The lady shared her plight in a series of posts she made to X (Twitter). She explained how the goods had gone missing and the current efforts she had made to locate the missing keke driver along with stolen goods.

According to her post, the lady had tried sending the goods, ₦60,000 in cake-making supplies, and ₦35,000 worth of small chops to a baker residing in Ogba, but had been met with various difficulties.

Her usual delivery man was unavailable and she was unable to deliver the goods herself due to the size of the goods, blocked roads and heavy traffic.

It was then she decided to send it using a keke driver, and the baker would collect it halfway at Magodo gate. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned as the keke driver she used failed to deliver the goods.

She revealed that the incident had occurred on Tuesday, December 24th, and at around 7:30 pm that same day was when she lost contact with the keke driver and she had been trying to locate him ever since.

Fortunately, the lady had taken a picture of the Keke’s plate number which she shared online so that people, especially those plying the Ogba-Berger-Isheri-Magodo route, can help her keep a look-out for the keke.

Her Full Story;

“Pls if you ply ogba– Berger- isheri– magodo pls help me look out for this Keke and plate number. He carried goods worth 90k and ran away. He never delivered it. I’ve spoken with their park chairman, I’ve been restless for 4 days. Since 7:30pm on Tuesday 24th.

Little backstory, I help bakers buy cake stuff. So I went to ojota earlier to get cake stuff for a baker worth 60k. Then she asked me to add ready to fry frozen Smallchops worth 35k.

I did that and she kept looking for dispatch but she did not see. So I told her let’s meet At Berger so it will be easier for the dispatch in case they didn’t want to come to Berger.

I went out to buy more prawns for my prawn in mayo and bama mayonnaise from jendol in Berger. By the time I came back, I had too much stuff already and the Smallchops and cake stuff was Still with me.”

Carrying everything on bike wasn’t even an option because the roads were also blocked and my Keke man said he could not enter the traffic. It’s just a waste of fuel. So I told the baker that I’d help her send it through Keke to magodo gate.

And she will pick from The gate. So I left my stuff at a customers shop in Berger bus stop and quickly went to give Keke going to magodo. I saw one Alfa and he said his Keke is full I should give the next one.

The next one that came was this unfortunate Keke man. We talked to the security in front of Him and told him who to give the package to since that’s how usual route. He said the receiver should go and wait for him at the gate that he cannot wait.

The woman said she’s at the gate already cos her house is close to the gate. He said ok, took the package, collected fee for Delivery from me and left. Before he left, I had snapped his front plate. I didn’t really get his face or the full picture of the Keke.

I sent it to the woman that that’s the Keke she should look out for. 30 mins passes and she called that NOONE had called her and she hadn’t set Eyes on that keke plate number.

At around 8, I went back there, the Alfa I was initially meant to give said he had done 2 trips after when I last saw him so I should wait, the man will come back.

I stayed till past 11 checking all the number plates of the Keke Maruwa going and Coming. He never came back and he also never got to magodo gate. He just carried everything and ran. 

I gave the chairman the plate that night. The one they knew as 638 was a man called baba kasali . They thought it was him and they held him but I said it wasn’t him/ he wasn’t Wearing Ankara. He wore a red polo shirt that day not Ankara. If I see him, I recognize him but that’s it. All I have is the number plates. On Christmas Day I was there. Boxing Day, I was there. Even yesterday.

I was directed to the ticketer. He said the chairman has informed him But they have not seen that Keke. Means that it’s from ogba. Because ogba Keke loads isheri at night time there.

So I’m going to ogba park now to meet the ticketers there. I just want to find this stuff even if he has eaten the Smallchops. He should sha give me the cake tools.”

A lady shares the hilarious video her mum took when she requested that she video her cooking on Christmas day.

The video showed the mum mistakenly recording herself instead of her daughter. The woman had tried recording her daughter when she discovered that the camera was facing her, not the daughter.

As she struggled to stop the video and turn the camera the right way, the lady spoke in her native language, Yoruba.

Roughly translated she said;

“I’m not the one that wants to record,

It’s already recording, come help me turn it off and delete it,

Ha, this child would end up posting it, help me cancel and delete it”

She jokingly called her daughter an “Omo Ale” while saying she was sure that she would post the video.

A Nigerian woman, Faith Essien has challenged the current status quo of how women are treated when it comes to the sharing of property between family members.

She calls out the prevalent tradition within most Nigerian households where the women are usually left with little to nothing after a family property is shared.

Tired of this outdated practice she urges women to fight for their rights, as they too are entitled to their own share of the property.

She asserts that her claims are backed up by the Nigerian constitution, hence if necessary one can take such matters to court to fight for what’s rightfully theirs.

“If your Father owns even a plot of land or a small house and as a Woman, you don’t own a part of it, you should forget about Feminism,” she wrote. 

Everything your Father owns is your right as a woman. Like your full right.

If your father’s house is one room, your brother shouldn’t live there, the house should be rented out and rent shared equally amongst all the children of the family. Or if your brother wants to stay there, he should pay you rent.

Start your equality with the Male in your family. Negotiate peacefully with them, but if they prove stubborn, hire a lawyer and go to court.

The laws of the federal Republic of Nigeria gives you full and equal rights of inheritance as your Male siblings. In the eyes of law, there’s no gender supremacy.

If anybody tells you they will marry you out and as such you don’t deserve a part in your family property, tell all the men that a woman from another family will also marry them.

Family properties are collective efforts of Father and Mother, so why do mothers keep quiet and watch their daughters being cheated??? That nonsense should stop.

If you feel your girl child shouldn’t inherit your property and doesn’t deserve equal treatment as your Male child, Kpai her at birth.

There’s no justifiable reason why any woman should not own equal part of her family property with her brothers.

Dear woman, My advice to you is, as you travel for Christmas, tell your Father and kinsmen that you want a share in your family properties.”

She also advised women on the steps to take to ensure their names are secured in their parent’s will.
