Nigerian media personality, Shade Ladipo has taken to social media to defend the anchor of Gulder Ultimate Search, Toke Makinwa, after she was dragged over the alleged low viewership of the show.
GUS organizer’s decision to bring on Toke Makinwa as the show host was met with mixed reactions on social media as some netizens opine that her personality doesn’t suit the rugged nature of the show.
She was also criticized for wearing heavy makeup in the jungle to which in response she said she isn’t the host and not a contestant.

In an apparent reaction to the hot takes on social media, Shade Ladipo stated that people are not watching the show because there is no sex and love drama.

Man proposes to his girlfriend of 7 years on stage at Adele’s concert (video)
A man’s proposal has been dubbed ‘proposal of the year’ after he popped the question to his girlfriend of seven years on stage at Adele’s concert.
The young man went all out for the proposal as he got the help of Adele, who is one of the world’s best-selling music artists, to pull off the romantic proposal to his girlfriend during her CBS special “Adele One Night Only”.
The romantic boyfriend identified as Quentin, brought his unsuspecting lover, Ashley, to Griffith Observatory, where Adele was performing.
Ashley had no idea her boyfriend was taking her to the concert. She assumed they were going for a picnic while she was brought on stage in a blindfold.
“I need every person to be really quiet, alright? If you make a noise, I’m going to kill you,” Adele told her audience before Quentin guided Ashley, who was blindfolded, to the stage.
When Ashley’s blindfold was removed, she was utterly dumbfounded to see the audience in front of her and her boyfriend on his knees asking for her hand in marriage, after seven years of dating.
“Listen, I want to say thank you. I want to thank you for being so patient with me. I’m extremely proud of you – and I mean – everyday, you blow my mind. There is absolutely nothing that you cannot do and I just know you are going to be an amazing mother to our kids one day, and I love you. I love you, I love you, I love you and will continue to love you forever… Will you marry me?” Quentin told his girlfriend, in his heartfelt proposal speech.
Ashley who couldn’t hide her excitement burst into tears. Adele then came on stage to perform “Make You Feel My Love” for the duo, while she congratulated the lovebirds.

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has replied a follower who asked if it’s right to help one’s girlfriend financially.
The follower asked this question in response to an Instagram post put out by Reno where he chided ladies who ask their boyfriends for money.
He wrote;
“Do not turn a relationship into a poverty alleviation program. That is what you do when you send the following texts or WhatsApp messages:

Sweetie, my phone is old
Babe, I need creditNo. You don’t need any dirty credit. You need a JOB or a BUSINESS that does not involve you lying on your back!

In response, the Instagram user asked if it’s okay to help one’s girlfriend when she can’t afford the need.
“Okay Sir…but can I ask you a question? what if she can’t afford the needs and you have money..Can you help?” he asked.
Responding, Reno told the follower to help his mother instead.
He wrote,
“If you want to meet a need, go and meet your mother’s needs. Keep thinking with your reproductive organs. Many of you have mothers who do not even have an iPhone 1, yet you buy iPhone 13s for your partner in fornication. Respect the breast you sucked for food and not just the one you suck for pleasure!”

“My life depends on that money” – Man calls out singer, Teni over N100k promise (video)
A young Nigerian man has taken to social media to call out popular singer, Teni over an alleged N100k promise.
According to the man, in September 2021, Teni who was in Ibadan for an event, promised him the sum of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) while performing on stage, but is yet to deliver on the promise.
He claimed that Teni had asked him to meet her manager back stage for the cash gift. However, upon meeting the manager, he was made to write down his account number and also asked to copy the manager’s number on Teni’s Instagram page to send his account number for the money to be sent to his account.
The fan said he called the manager’s number the next day but he gave an excuse that the singer was busy and would get back to him when she is less busy.
He disclosed that he called back the following day and was told the same excuse and after that, the manager refused to pick up his calls or reply his messages, even after sending numerous messages stating that his family was depending on that money.
To backup his claims he shared a footage which captured the moment the singer promise him the money on stage.

Man devastated after DNA test revealed that his ‘look-alike’ son is not his
A Nigerian man has been left devastated after a DNA test revealed that he’s not the father of his supposed 2-year-old son.
According to a Twitter user identified as @stevetosin who shared the story on the platform, the man was suspicious of his wife, so he decided to carry out a DNA test on their little boy.
The Twitter user revealed he initially advised the man against conducting the test since the boy was his look-alike, but he insisted.
Shockingly, when the result came back, his suspicions were confirmed as he discovered that he is not the biological father of the little boy.
Narrating the incident, @stevetosin wrote,
“I have been sick for the past two days. My closest friend just discovered that his 2years Old Son is not his. I was one of those who discouraged him from ‘wasting’ his money to conduct a DNA test because ‘the boy looked like him’, however, thank God he insisted.
“I’m devastated! Doubts… Started with his calculation on when they had sex and when she conceived. We push it over at first that it is a big possibility since the difference is just about three weeks. The doubt grew my friend’s curiosity to confirm that the child is his”.
Nigerian lady narrates how a ‘friend’ she housed for three years allegedly planned her gang-r@pe and mʯrder
A Nigerian lady has taken to Twitter to narrate how a friend she housed for three years allegedly connived with a group of guys to rape and kill her.
According to the lady identified as @Grace_undiluted on the micro-blogging platform, she brought the lady, Bukky in to stay with her in 2018 and eventually left the house for with her a 7 months rent paid in April 2021.
However, on Friday November 12, few months after they had parted ways, Bukky visited her and inquired if she was alone.
She noted that few minutes after Bukky left her new apartment, some masked men invaded it, assaulted her and struck her with a pestle when she tried to escape.
Grace who urged netizens to learn from her experience and be weary of people they help, disclosed that she got a hint of who carried out the act after she was resuscitated and went back to her room to get dressed so she can be taken to the hospital.
She said she found a piece of cloth one of the men used as face mask and it was a bed sheet she left in the apartment she moved out from for Bukky.
When the recovered item was given to the police, they stormed Bukky’s apartment and asked her about the bedsheet. Upon being questioned, she allegedly confessed to giving the bedsheet to her boyfriend and also identified the boys that invaded the victim’s apartment.
Further investigations revealed that Bukky’s boyfriend just got out from prison and still has a case pending in court. During questioning, the Twitter user also said it discovered that the men didn’t come to steal, but rather came to “rape and beat her” with a weapon which the IPO said is used to kill.

So Let’s get to know the man, Edgar Eriakha?
(chuckles) My name is Eriakha Edgar, I am a content creator, writer, actor, Influencer, standup comic, and a failed wrapper. I am presently a commercial writer at Pulse Nigeria. Edgar is just a regular guy doing regular things for regular people. And Edgar doesn’t lie.
Where did you school and how has it shaped your career?
I finished at the University of Lagos, where I studied creative arts. The course I studied, the people I schooled with, the state itself, shape me. I was able to better my acting in school and network easily with brands associated with UNILAG. It was a good push for my career.
How would you describe your journey into the Nigerian ONLINE comedy industry?
The journey has been a story. I always enjoyed Crazeclown and I felt I had what it took to make people laugh too. I would write for other platforms and collaborate with many. With content creation, you never know. You just keep going.
You said you once did Stand-up, what inspired you to take that step at a very young age?
I still do stand-up comedy. When I was in secondary school, I use to read comic news on the assembly ground. I also use to perform comedy in the hostel. My life is a comedy, I enjoy engaging an audience whether I am standing or sitting.
You have also featured in some top Nollywood Movies, which role do you think was most challenging?
It would be Tega in Seven by Tosin Igho. I had to act like I was foolish in love. That’s difficult. Romantic roles aren’t always my thing and I am too smart to act foolishly. I don’t know if that makes sense.
You have achieved success through social media, how important is social media and how can one leverage it to showcase his/her talent?
The world is changing, social media is doing everything these days. As a creator the first question should be “What do I want to achieve?” once you can answer that, half the work is done. Three things, structure, consistency, and networking. So far social network exists, the opportunities are limitless.
Tell us about your background?
I am from Edo state. I was born in Lagos Nigeria. I have two siblings. I believe in God, hard work, and a pinch of luck. I started out as a theatre practitioner with Kininso Koncepts and from there I knew I wanted to create content in the media industry. I love to write, laugh and enjoy life. There is beauty behind the madness.
What message do you have for those who are trying to “blow” via social media?
I really don’t know what to say. A lot of people want to blow but aren’t ready to pick the pieces together. Blowing isn’t the difficult part, can you stay relevant? My advice would be to enjoy the game whether you blow or not.
Couple who have never met in person get married over Zoom
A couple, Ayse (26) and Darrin (24), who have never met in person have gotten married over Zoom with close friends and family in attendance.
The couple started a transatlantic relationship during the COVID-19 pandemic that kept everyone on lockdown in their respective cities.
Ayse initially met her mother-in-law, Kenda, 56, via a Facebook group aimed at pairing up pen pals from around the world. Kenda then introduced her to her son, Darrin.
According to Kenda, Darrin who was based in Detroit, Michigan, US, was in the same age group as Ayse and indicated interest in chatting with someone from the UK.
The duo started off as friends in July 2020, but soon became inseparable and spoke on the phone every night. The five-hour time difference didn’t stop their love and they quickly started dating.
According to reports, Ayse began planning a trip to visit her boyfriend in the States in July but couldn’t because of the travel restrictions. However, they continued their weekly date nights via video calls and would surprise eachother with treats and takeaway food.
In May 2021, Darrin proposed to Ayse and in August, they officially got married via Zoom in a legal ceremony officiated in Utah, US.
Although it’s been months since their wedding and they are still yet to meet physically, the married couple talk over the phone multiple times a day. They are currently waiting for Ayse’s visa application to be accepted.
Ayse, a cleaner, from Lancaster, said:
“I never imagined this would happen to me in a million years.
“I don’t think anyone expected this when we started talking last year.
“But we’re married and it’s all completely legal and official – I still can’t believe it.
“It’s been really hard not being able to meet properly, but in the long run it will make us stronger because we’ve had to go through all of this to be together.
“We just really love each other.”

Popular TV host, Frank Edoho has replied a Twitter user who claims the viewership of Gulder Ultimate Search dropped because of its show host, Toke Makinwa.
GUS started in earnest few weeks ago and netizens have had a lot to say about Toke Makinwa being the show host. The arguments have lingered around her personality not being suitable for the show and having full face makeup in the jungle.
A Twitter user took to the platform recently to opine that people lost interest in the show after the lifestyle entrepreneur was announced as the show host. According to her, Toke Makinwa is the wrong person to host the show.
She also mentioned former host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Frank Edoho, to drive her point.
She wrote,
“The truth is viewers lost interest in gulder ultimate search the moment they announced Toke Makinwa as the host. This isn’t about hating or anything, I just believe every TV host and OAP have their own area of specialist, toke makinwa hosting GUS is as weird as asking someone like Frank edoho to come and host a beauty pageant show, wetin consine agbero and final year exam?
If at all there will be a new season, then the organisers need to do better if they really want viewers and ratings on their show, they should just learn to appoint people on merit and credibility.”
Reacting to the lady’s stance, Frank Edoho shared a video where he was hosting a beauty pageant. He then told the Twitter user that her analysis is wrong because media personalities are versatile and not restricted to one area.
“Your analysis is absolutely wrong. Most TV hosts are versatile and arent restricted to one area of specialization. By the way, I hosted the Miss Africa University Beauty Pageant twice in a row. Some of us do a plethora of work, we just don’t like posting,” he wrote.

Popular Nigerian business magnate and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote’s younger brother, Sani Dangote is dead.
Sani, who until his death was the Vice President of Dangote Group reportedly died in the United State of America on Sunday, November 14th.
His death was confirmed in a short statement released by Dangote Group on Sunday,

Queen reacts after her colleague, WhiteMoney’s fan called her out for allegedly being a fake friend
Big Brother Naija star, Queen has reacted after a staunch fan of fellow reality star, Whitemoney accused her of being a fake friend.
The drama started after a Twitter user @Mumchomzy called Queen out on the platform, alleging that she’s desperate to be in a relationship with the season 6 winner and using him for her own gains.
@Mumchomzy’s post stirred reactions from other Whitemoney’s fans who supported the claim and dragged Queen to pieces.

Queen reiterated that contrary to what they alleged she has always shown support for Whitemoney on and off social media.
She also revealed that @Mumchomzy who she described as the head of Whitemoney’s fans sent her a private message on Instagram and blocked her even before she could reply.

Popular Nigerian businessman, Wale Jana, has asked women to stop championing the narrative that “all men are scum“.
In a post shared on his Instagram page recently, the businessma opined that there is power in the tongue. According to him, if a lady keeps saying “all men are scum”, she will always be meeting scum men.
His post reads;
“If you want to meet a good man you must stop the “men are scum” narrative. If you keep saying that all the men you meet will be scum.
Many ladies just say this but deep down they really hope to meet a good man and settle down but words are powerful, you will see what you say. It’s possible you have met a lot of wrong men but if you believe you will meet a good man start saying it.
Say things like “there are good men out there and the right one will find me”
Another thing I have noticed is that many women don’t believe they deserve a good man. YOU DO! You deserve to be happy, you deserve to be loved, you deserve all the good things this life has to offer!

The quite curvaceous actress in a recent Instagram post, pointed out to trolls that being mobile is not a luxury but rather a basic necessity and a person ought to acquire one if he/she is financially buoyant to afford it.

Nollywood actress and mother of one, Tonto Dikeh has reacted after she was spotted on a date with her ex man, Prince Kpokpogri’s best friend recently.
Netizens had varying opinions about her date with the gentleman, identified as Mayor and to clear the air, the actress has issued a statement.
Dikeh had posted some photos of herself, her son and a friend, Mayor who once during her squabble with her ex, Prince Kpokpogri, waded in to her defence.
However, when a blog shared the actress’s photo with a caption that raised the eyebrow of users, she was left with no choice than to clear the air.

Singer Buju reveals the reason he parted ways with Burna Boy’s record label.
Daniel Benson better known as Buju has revealed the reason he parted ways with ‘Spaceship Collective’ record label.
Buju was signed to Burna Boy’s label, Spaceship Collective in 2020 and released ‘Lenu’ remix with the African Giant.
However, in an interview with Hip TV, the singer disclosed that he refused to extend the contract which ended this year because things were not going the way he’d wanted.
According to the ‘Outside’ crooner, he told Burna Boy about it and he consented to his decision.
Buju said ;
“Signing with spaceship was so amazing I got like 9m streams with my remix in April “Burna heard my song ‘Lenu’ in the club and ‘vibed’ with it and signed me in 2020 but it was a year contract and I didn’t renew it.”
“I didn’t renew the contract after a year because I want to do things on my own differently. I’ve seen how it works around there and it does not necessarily flow with me.”
“Affiliation is great when it’s working for you. “I told Burna I wanted to do it on my own and I’ll make him proud and he told me to go along.”
