A few weeks ago, TECNO launched the Phantom X smartphone in an exclusive event at the Hardrock café. Asides the exquisite entertainment and fun, there was one other highlight that stuck out. The brand played for the audience a trailer of their next project. The snippet showed some of our favourite celebrities spilling the tea about their lives and having fun with Tobi Bakre who seemed to be the host of the show. The vibe we all got that night after watching the trailer was that the show was going to be great fun and we couldn’t wait to watch.
Well, the wait is now over.
The show is called the Phantom Xtraordinaire Show. It is hosted by the fun-loving Tobi Bakre and would be putting the limelight on celebrities who have had bold and extraordinary journeys and an established seat in stardom.
TECNO did well to choose an interesting array of celebrities from different industries; Nollywood actress Rita Dominic, Business consultant and inspirational speaker Fela Durotoye, pioneer beauty entrepreneur Tara Durotoye, WNBA draft Evelyn Akhator, and Founder of SLOT Nnamdi Ezeigbo.
Going by the trailer shown at the launch, each celebrity will take us deep into their personal lives, sharing tips and actionable points. We also know that Tobi Bakre dared the celebrities to carry out some very funny deeds.
The show will be in 6 episodes. The first 3 episodes will air this weekend (starting 23rd July) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:30pm on TECNO’s YouTube channel.

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has advised his fans and followers against feeling entitled to favours or other people’s money.
According to the actor it’s always very important to use the word “please” when asking for help from other people.
He advised that people should do away with any form of entitlement mentality, adding that the only thing people should feel entitled to is what they’ve worked for.
Giving this advise via his official Instagram page, Yul wrote,
“The only thing you are entitled to in this world is that thing you have worked for. So when asking for help, always add the word ‘please’.
“Nobody owes you anything. And never say to anyone, ‘I know you can do it for me’, you know nothing about other people’s lives. Forget what you see on social media, people only show you the little they want to show you. You don’t know the rest. Good luck”.
Popular socialite, Pretty Mike has advised people to get married because they want to, not because they owe their partner anything.
Pretty Mike stated this in response to a viral question making rounds on social about who a person should marry between the one who stayed with them when they had nothing or the one who helped them become somebody.
Taking to his Instagram page, the controversial Instagram celebrity noted that even though it is rare to find loyalty, make sure you love the person before deciding to marry them.
To buttress his point, Pretty Mike shared a true life story of a man who married his benefactor because he felt indebted to her, but the marriage didn’t last.

Especially when you are in a position with nothing to offer and even when you are financially able and someone still sticks by you without exploiting or taking anything off you, just know you are lucky.

Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello’s aide, Prince Abdulkareem Suleiman Onyekehi has advised Nigerian youths to learn a trade or start their own businesses.
Taking to Facebook the Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Multilateral, Donor Agencies and Special Projects and Focal Person, National Social Investment Programme, advised the youths to emulate popular billionaire business, Obi Cubana , by starting small while they wait for white collar jobs.
According to him, when the youths finds something lucrative to do rather than wait for the government to provide jobs for them, they will succeed.

A Nigerian woman has narrated how a woman she took as a mother ended up marrying her abusive partner she advised her to leave and suffered the same fate.
According to the lady identified as Omonigho Asekome, she became close with an elderly woman on her street who was a single mother of 4, she revealed they got so close that she started calling her “mommy”.
The elderly woman was a nurse and had a chemist down street, so she would usually tend Asekome wounds whenever her husband now ex, assaulted her.
They developed a close bond and Asekome would usually open up to the woman about her marital challenges, she advised her to leave her abusive husband, an advise she eventually took in 1998 and left with her 3 kids.
Asekome met the shock of her life when she visited the older woman with gifts to thank her for everything, the older woman confessed to dating her ex-husband while they were married and eventually married him after she left him.
She noted that the woman said she advised her to leave the abusive marriage because she wanted to marry her husband as she is matured and knows how to handle man like him, while she (Asekome) is inexperienced.
Asekemo noted that years later the older woman who bragged about being experienced in handling abusive men suffered the same fate and had to leave the man after several assaults and abuse.

So back in the days when I was still with my ex-husband in salolo bus stop area of alagbado, there was a nurse who had a chemist along the road that always gave me painkillers and stitch my wounds whenever I got beat down by my ex. She was a single mom with grown 3 sons and a daughter who was my age. Because of her kindness I got so close to her and started calling her mommy.
I’d tell her everything he did and she’ll advice me on what to do until I ran away with my 3 kids in 1998.

I replied “she can handle him. I am the inexperienced one.” There are 3 more betrayals that hurt me to my bone marrow like this. After few years, I’d get news that karma did her job very well. I have come to realized that whenever anyone betrays me, they always get the repercussions.

Biodun Fatoyinbo, the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), has come out to defend Bishop David Oyedepo who recently sacked 40 pastors for generating low income in their branches.
It can be recalled that Bishop Oyedepo said the pastors were fired for being “unfruitful and blatant failures”, which sparked outrage on social media.
Reacting to this, Fatoyinbo has declared support for the famous clergyman. According to him, there is no room for laziness and unfruitfulness.
He also questioned if a banker who was fired for not meeting his target would come on social media to rant about being sacked.

The family of young trader who was shot dead in the popular Ladipo market, Lagos state, have released details of his burial arrangements to the public.
According to the obituary, the deceased will be laid to rest on Saturday, July 24th, 2021 and his wake keep is scheduled to hold today, Friday, July 23rd.

Popular Liberian-American comedian and actor, Michael Blackson, has proposed to his Cambodian girlfriend, Rada.
Michael, who is also of Ghanaian descent, popped the question during his interview on American radio show, The Breakfast Club on Thursday, July 22.
Before the proposal, Michael revealed that they were in an open relationship and he was allowed to have one side chick per month. However, he later realised that he wasn’t comfortable with that lifestyle.
“We negotiated that I’m going to have one side b*tch a month,” he disclosed.“I realised that it’s just ain’t me to live that life.”
He added that he really loves Jada because she is not interested in his money or fame.
“I do love her. I really feel Rada is the one. She’s been to Africa to meet my mother. I’ve never had a woman that has my back like her”
“She is loving and doesn’t want anything – nothing at all from me. She doesn’t want any press, money or anything at all. I’ve never had a woman that is this loyal to me.”

According to the 28-year-old Internet celebrity, he has been a fan of the ‘Ojelegba’ crooner since he was 16 years old. Speaking further, Bob noted that the day he finally gets to talk to the singer he would shed uncontrollable tears as he’s sure he wont be able to hold back the tears of Joy.
He opened up to his fans that the different times he had the opportunity to meet Wizkid he was shy and couldn’t summon enough courage to greet him.
Sharing a photo of Wizkid on his official Instagram page, Bob wrote,
“The only dude I dey trip for 🙈🙈🙈 Dis guy I love him die I don’t know y 😂 D day I will talk to him ehnnn I will definitely cry cos I won’t be able to hold my tears. Have been his fan since I was 16yrs. Have had opportunities to say hi to him many times at d club but I was then shy. He is d best artist in Africa you can’t drag that with him naaaa you can’t”.
A Nigerian pastor, Oluwaseun Basil Alabi, has warmed the hearts of many after he renovated a debilitated 60-year-old mosque in Ikire, Osun state.
This was shared online by a Facebook user, Bakara Adegboyegba, who revealed that the building was commissioned days before Sallah.
Sharing before and after photos of the Mosque, Bakara wrote in part,
“It was a joyful gathering of Muslim leaders in the quiet city of Ikire, in Irewole local government area of Osun State on Friday the 16th day of July 2021, as a sixty year old Alatise mosque located at Popo junction of the town renovated by a pastor was commisoned for use.”
The Chief Imam of Ikire land, Alhaji Yunus, commended Pastor Alabi for his selfless act to the community. Thereafter, he led a special prayer session for the pastor who resides in Minnesota, US.
Speaking on why he choose to renovate the mosque, Pastor Alabi said,
”I grew up in an Ikire community where religion had no effect on our relationship. It was a time when chritians participated actively in the religious festivities of Muslims.
A time when you would find many hijab wearing women attending church sessions of chritian weddings and burials. It was a time you find young children, Muslims and Christians play together in the mosques and eat saara (food items brought to mosque as alms)together without fear or intimidation.
It was a time that humanity United us and made us one strong family, living and sharing our goodness with love and togetherness.”
