Bose Ogulu, mother and manager of Grammy award winner, Burna Boy, has revealed he wasn’t paid by the Rivers State government for his state-sponsored Homecoming concert.
Bose who confirmed other artistes who performed at the event were paid, stated that her son received no monetary gift because the event was organized to honor him for his Grammy win.
She made this revelation in an interview with media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on his Rubbin’ Mind show.
In her words,
“Money was not paid to him but it was paid to everybody else. It was paid to everybody else that went there to perform but it was not paid to him. They were honouring him, he was not paid to be there. For want for a better word, as my people say, it is only a bastard that refuses honour in his father’s house.
“For me, I do not really pay too much attention to such because I was really busy and that is the honest truth. The facts are very clear, this man was honoured because he got the highest award in his field, in the world.
“He was honoured because he brought that award home. Why did he get that award? Making the same music that speaks the truth. So I do not think anybody was trying to buy him to their side.
I think it is clear to everyone that the man would always make the music he wants to make- whether it is for fans or whatever. He will continue to do that.
It was not a deal or a case of ‘let us honour you and you will not abuse us again.’ That did not come into the conversation. I think, in the case of Rivers State, it was very wise that it was done because if any other state had done it before Rivers, it would have been shocking.” She added.
Burna Boy‘s homecoming concert in honour of his Grammy award win was held March 27th, in Rivers state.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that the “Ye” crooner was gifted a land in Old GRA, Port Harcourt and also money to build by the state’s Governor, Nyesom Wike.
Governor Wike also promised to give artistes who performed at Burna’s Homecoming Concert in Rivers State N10 million each.

She was eventually rescued by some street guys who helped her with a local mechanic. Here’s what she shared below,
Lmao i rem when I first moved back and I was seeing this guy, I was driving to hang with him and suddenly my car stops. I had kinda just started driving so i was so nervous. I was close to his so i text him saying my car had stopped, and he replied saying “o wow” & that was it
Some street side guys had to call some roadside mechanic for me who helped me sort out whatever the issue was. Dude text me “are you still coming?” and I just drove my ass back home and that, as they say, was that.
Theres two types of people in this world. The “oh wows” and the “let me sort it out”. One time when my friend & I’s flight got unceremoniously cancelled, she called her man to tell him. Before we could say jack robinson, mans got 2 tickets for us on another airline.
I refunded my bit of course but it was the thoughtfulness and the action for meee. So ladies, don’t settle for an “oh wow” ass nigga, get you a “sort it out” nigga. Cos effort is sexy.

Nigerian actress, Chioma Grace Ifemeludike has opined that it is not plausible for poor people to live a righteous life.
The actress took to her IG page to share her thoughts. According to her, it is insensitive to preach repentance to a poverty-ridden man who doesn’t know where his next meal will come from.
She bemoaned the current situation of Nigeria and questioned if true salvation can ever be gotten in a rotten society.
Here’s what she wrote,
“It’s quite ignorant how we expect that poor people should live a righteous life in this country. Person wey never chop na potential criminal, how can you preach repentance to someone that has no job, no food, wears rags, underpaid, lives in the ghetto(slum) without any physical solutions in sight, you just expecting them to give their lives to Christ when they know that someone somewhere is stealing their collective wealth!!! I laugh in Swahili”
“The reason why we are just religious without really being Christ like(christians) is that we are not telling ourselves the truth. How can you preach salvation to a youth who graduated since 2015 without a job, no government support, starts a business but can’t sustain it because the burden of taking care of his parents, siblings and himself is on the neck of a 23 years old! How??? In a society where Children are now bread winners because one greedy polithieftian has looted their parents pension… How do you preach repentance to the victims and not the culprits??? How do you convince a youth not to get involved in crime while he watches his mother die of an illness that money could have solved??? How do you preach to a 15 years old girl child to stop prostitution when she watches hunger beat her younger ones mercilessly??? How!? Until we identify they people who have shortchanged our lives and values we may be preaching to the Wrong congregation… Can true salvation be gotten in a rotten society??? Hoodlums, yahoo yahoos, bandits, terrorists, kidnappers, militants, run girls association , baby mamas club etc. Are they results you get after lootingour common wealth for over 60years…”

A 24-year-old Zimbabwean man has been sentenced to 33 years in prison for raping his 9-year-old grade-three niece and also infecting her with HIV.
The man who has been staying at the same house with his sister and her children, reportedly took advantage of his sister’s absence to rape his niece on multiple occasions between March and April.
It was heard by the court that the pervert uncle would sneak into the room where his nieces were sleeping and would rape the 9-year-old. The 9-year-old shared the room with her younger sisters aged four and two.
The sad abuses was uncovered after the little girl refused to sleep in the room. When her older sister questioned about the reluctance, the 9-year-old revealed that the uncle was raping her.
The case was reported to the police and a medical test which was carried out thereafter, revealed that the minor has been infected with HIV.
When arraigned before Regional Magistrate Mr Christopher Maturure on two counts of raping his niece and one count of deliberately infecting her with HIV, the man pleaded not guilty and made a spirited attempt to deny the charges. However his subterfuge did not work, and the magistrate found him guilty after a full trial.
The magistrate had no kind words for the uncle who abused his position of trust to prey on his sister’s child. He said that his sentence should serve as a deterrence to other like-minded would-be offenders and sentenced him to 33 years in prison.
The Chronicle reported that Maturure said,
“Her life has totally changed because of your actions. For rape you are sentenced to 18 years and deliberately infecting the complainant, 15 years.”

“I am sure because he was saved. I am sure because he believed in Christ, his salvation was sure, it was certain.
“He said if I die today, I know I am fulfilled, I have done what the Lord has asked me to do, he was not afraid of death. He was not afraid. It is not a matter of time but how well and he lived a good life, he lived to the glory of God. He lived, he served God. His life was dedicated to Christ and that is why I am sure that he is heaven.
“I am sure that he made it. And I want to say brethren today, if you are not sure of your salvation. If you are not sure that if you sleep tonight, you might not wake up tomorrow, you are not sure of where you will be in eternity. If you have not yet given your life to Christ, if you are here today to see because you heard. Yes, it is true; he is sleeping in the Lord but are you sure of yourself, are you sure of where you will be? Are you sure of where you will be?” She added.

I think I’m a great mum… I really don’t need anybody to tell me that. Not just with Jayce, I’m fiercely protective and crazy in love with my nephews and nieces. And I love children in general.
With Jayce, I show him a lot of love and kindness and let him have his way most of the time. I’ve heard someone say be careful not to spoil him especially when he does something that they think deserves a spanking and I refuse to spank him.
I don’t believe in spanking children over every mistake they make in the bid to correct them. The occasional spanking, every once in a long while, is okay…(I’ve definitely done that with Jayce) but I believe when they make a mistake or misbehave, correcting them firmly but kindly and with love is better than hitting them, yelling at them, shaking them or giving them some kind of physical punishment. Especially when they are under 5.
For instance, with Jayce, I’ve had family and close friends tell me he is a kind and loving boy but they are family and friends so you just feel they are being nice…but less than two weeks of starting school, his teacher described him as a kind boy in his daily report book. That made my whole week. It tells me the love and kindness I show him every day is shaping him and he’s passing it forward.”
The controversial Blogger added, “I believe that listening to our children when they have something to say, acknowledging their feelings, recognizing their positive behaviour and maybe even rewarding that behaviour will help to shape them into great individuals”.
