Man jailed for 9 months for assaulting stranger who spanked his girlfriend’s buttocks
A Zimbabwean man has reportedly been jailed for 9 months for assaulting a stranger who spanked his girlfriend’s buttocks.
The Victoria Falls man identified as one Bornwell Sibanda and his girlfriend, whose details were not given, were reportedly walking in town on April 4th when they met Mbekezeli Mpofu who suddenly spanked the lady on her buttocks.
Exasperated by this, Sibanda jumped on Mpofu, slapped him once on the face before punching and kicking him on the mouth and stomach.
An injured and bleeding Mpofu was taken to Victoria Falls Hospital where he was treated and discharged — he sustained a swollen eye and swollen lower lip.
Sibanda was later arrested and arraigned in court after Mpofu filed a complaint with the police. He was sentenced to 9 months in prison after he pleaded guilty while appearing before Victoria Falls magistrate Linda Dzvene.
FUOYE suspends lecturer over alleged sexual harassment
The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has suspended one of its lecturers, Dr. Desen Mbachaga, over alleged sexual harassment.
Dr. Mbachaga was, until his suspension, an Associate Professor in the Department of Theatre and Media Arts.
A statement by the Chief Information Officer in the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Foluso Ogunmodede, said Mbachaga’s suspension came after a panel set up by the institution to probe the alleged sexual harassment found a prima facie evidence against him.
The Statement reads in parts ;
“However, the suspension which was with immediate effect would pave the way for a five-member Committee set up by the Vice-Chancellor to further probe the allegation with a view to getting to the root of the allegation of sexual harassment against the embattled lecturer.”
Comedienne, Emmanuella, dismisses “rumors that she is pregnant”
Popular kid comedienne and actress, Emmanuella Samuel has refuted viral reports alleging that she is pregnant.
After viral reports alleged that the 10-year-old is pregnant, she shared a recent video of herself and a concerned follower took to the comment to note that she doesn’t look pregnant.
“I cant see the belle O”, the fan wrote.
In response, Emmanuella seized the opportunity to dismiss the rumour. According to her, as the video shows, she isn’t pregnant.

Police raid gay wedding in Uganda (Photos)
The police in Uganda have arrested 44 people for organizing and attending a traditional marriage for a gay couple.
Spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan Police, Luke Owoyesigyire, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, May 31, said police received a tip off about a group of men suspected to be homosexuals conducting a wedding in 780 zone, Ochen ward in Nansana municipality.
In his words ;
“Immediately a team of police officers proceeded to the scene and a group of 38 adult males and 6 females were found conducting a ceremony at around 1pm that looked to be a wedding. All the men had make up and some were dressed as female in dresses and wigs.
At the same functions gifts were recovered, these included suitcases, a tv, assorted gifts like sugar, salt, pineapples and many other gifts normally given at traditional functions.”
The Kampala police spokesperson used that used and unused condoms were recovered at the scene whereas the suspects were not observing Covid SOPs like social distancing and wearing of masks.

A Nigerian couple, Godstime Osayande and Peace Omentu have gone viral on social media platforms after they tied the knot in a low-key wedding held in Agbor, Delta State on Saturday, May 29.
The groom, who goes by the Facebook name Dwisdom Man, said that they did their wedding without going into debts.

Actress, Jemima Osunde shares message she got from an electrician who called her ‘baby’ after a job
Nollywood actress, Jemima Osunde has shared screenshot of the WhatsApp message she got from an electrician who called her ‘baby’.
According to her, she gave the electrician her phone number after he completed a job in her home incase she needs him for another job. However, he sent her a message on WhatsApp and addressed her as “baby”.
Uncomfortable with his action, the actress and medical doctor took to Twitter to call him out for his unprofessionalism. She added that she can never allow him into her house again.
Taking to Twitter, Jemima wrote,
“LMAO
“Electrician finished working. I gave my number & said to send me a message so I can save his own in case I need him to come do some work for me later. “This is my number baby” is what I got.
“What could be the cause my dear Lord? Anyway, he can never come into my house again that’s the end.
“Because I cannot finish treating my patient and say “see you at your next appointment baby” unless I’m in pediatrics or trying to lose my damn license.”
