Nigerian g@y rights activist, Bisi Alimi has come out to debunk tired myths about HIV after living with it for 22 years.
According to the fifty-one years old activist, he was twenty-nine years old when he got diagnosed of HIV, and after twenty-two of living with it, he has gotten exhausted with the myths that surrounds the virus. And he goes ahead to list and debunk a number them:
“Myth one, H!V equals de@th. Its not possible, it doesn’t happen anymore, thanks to the advancements in biomedicals.
Myth two, you can get H!V from ki!ss!ng. Unless you are b!ting the person.
Myth three, H!V only affects g@y men. Simple answer H1V doesn’t care about your s3xual orientation.
Myth four, you can spot someone who’s got H!V. Look at me!
Myth five, that H!V and A!DS are the same thing. No they are not.
Myth six, H!V is spread through food. Okay lets stop that, your jollof is safe.
Myth seven, mosquitoes spread H1V. Okay, this is old and not possible.
Myth eight, H1V is a d3ath sentence. Now that is not possible.
Myth nine, straight people are safe from H1V. H1V doesn’t give a what about your s3xual orientation.
Myth ten, you can get H!V from to!let seat. This is not true.
Myth eleven, there is no cure for H!V so what is the point of testing. When someone who is H!V positive is on treatment they can attain what is called U equals U.
Myth 12, most people with H!V don’t have s3x. Let’s move on.
