Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh has taken to social media to advocate for the freedom of Ghanaian actress, Akuapem Poloo, who was convicted for posing naked with her child.
Recall that social media went agog after the actress was sentenced to 90 days (3 months) in prison for posting the nude photo on her Instagram page.
Some netizens have started signing a petition to request for the release of Poloo and Tonto Dikeh has also lent her voice to the cause. She also appealed to Nigerians to sign the petition.
She wrote,
“One thing They always say is No one can tell a Mother how to bring Up her Child, it only becomes society responsibilities when you are hurting the child.
In this case i see no hurt here, Can i take same picture? No I cldnt, not even in the next life but Am different doesn’t mean The Act is Totally wrong when it’s in the privacy of your home alone.
BUT THE PICTURES ARE Morally Wrong? YES.
CLASSLESS? YES Sir but Not Bad enough to Go to Jail?

Some fans berated Tonto for speaking up for Poloo, despite her action. So, in a follow-up post, Tonto Dike addressed the criticism and noted that she is not in support of Poloo’s action but three months is too long for a mother to be apart from her child.
