“We are a greedy Nation” – Laura Ikeji Kanu calls out businesses over detty December price hikes (WATCH)

Beauty entrepreneur and influencer, Laura Ikeji Kanu, has sparked conversations online after calling out what she described as excessive greed among service providers in Nigeria, particularly during the festive ‘Detty December’ season.

In a video shared online, Laura expressed frustration over the sharp increase in prices for everyday services, using hair braiding as a key example.

According to her, a hairstyle she previously paid ₦70,000 for before leaving Nigeria is now being quoted at ₦200,000, with suggestions that clients should be charged as much as ₦250,000 simply because it is December.

Describing the situation as unreasonable, Laura warned that such unchecked price hikes could ultimately ruin the festive season.

She noted that while December is typically a period of high sales for businesses, exploiting customers under the guise of seasonal demand is unfair and damaging.

Laura also addressed the common assumption that Nigerians living abroad are wealthy and can afford inflated prices.

She emphasized that many diaspora Nigerians are regular people who work hard, save up, and return home during the holidays to enjoy themselves, not to be exploited.

According to her, the trend of inflating prices for services rendered to returnees has been ongoing and is increasingly getting out of hand.

She argued that even the former ₦70,000 charge for hair braiding was already high, questioning the justification for nearly tripling the price within a short period.

Beyond the beauty industry, Laura extended her criticism to the housing sector, blaming the rise of short-term rentals such as Airbnb for contributing to increased rent across the country.

She alleged that landlords, seeing the high daily rates charged for short-let apartments, have transferred that mindset to annual rent pricing, further burdening residents.

Reiterating her stance, Laura maintained that greed remains a major issue affecting various sectors in the country.

She urged business owners and service providers to exercise restraint, fairness, and consideration, warning that continuous exploitation could discourage visitors and harm the very economy they seek to benefit from during the festive season.

Ashmusy takes legal action against realtor over false claims about her home ownership

Social media influencer, Amarachi Amusi, popularly known as Ashmusy, has taken legal action against a realtor following what she described as false and defamatory claims regarding her home ownership.

In an official statement released by her company, Diamond Crest Homes, the firm addressed a publication allegedly made by Superblac Homes on Instagram on December 13, 2025, which claimed that a property publicly associated with Ashmusy was never owned by her.

The company described the publication as sensational, misleading, and entirely without factual basis.

In response to the latest incident, the company confirmed that the matter has been formally handed over to its legal representatives, who have been instructed to take all necessary legal steps to protect both Ashmusy and Diamond Crest Homes from reputational harm.

New mother praised by fellow choristers for returning to practice a day after giving birth (WATCH)

A video circulating online has sparked widespread reactions after a new mother was seen attending a choir rehearsal just one day after giving birth.

In the clip, the visibly exhausted new mum is shown participating in practice while fellow choristers praise her commitment and dedication.

Some members could be heard commending her strength, with others drawing inspiration from a biblical reference to Hebrew women who were described as strong and vigorous.

While the video inspired admiration from some viewers who applauded her resilience and devotion, it also triggered concern from critics who questioned the health implications of such an early return to physical activity after childbirth.

Medical professionals and commentators online pointed out that the immediate postpartum period is critical for rest, healing, and mother-child bonding.

Concerns were raised about potential risks such as excessive bleeding, infection, and delayed recovery, especially so soon after delivery.

Many argued that while faith and dedication are important, they should not come at the expense of a new mother’s health and wellbeing.

See comments below,

“Many of you will die… inside church…and God will still deny you entrance.”

“Does she have a husband or even a mother? Cos why would her immediate family allow this?”

“Such determination! I hope she also takes time to rest and care for herself and her baby. In my view, she might still need some proper rest, but her dedication is inspiring.”

“This is not a flex by the way. You’re just stressing yourself for stupid validation from people who will easily replace you in the choir is you kpai.”

Self-acclaimed relationship therapist, Blessing CEO, has taken to social media to express her joy and relief following the discharge and acquittal of her partner, Ikechukwu Darry Ogobnna, popularly known as IVD, in the long-running court case surrounding the death of his wife, Bimbo.

Sharing the news via her Instagram page, Blessing revealed that the court reached its decision on December 15, 2025, describing the moment as the end of four years marked by emotional strain, public pressure, and what she termed false narratives. According to her, the ruling signifies that justice has finally prevailed.

In an emotional post, she wrote, “Discharged and acquitted, 15th December 2025, It ended in praise. Four years of tears and false narratives. Nigeria’s justice system still works. I am proud of my country. Ikechukwu Darry Ogobnna (IVD), you can now have your life back. Congratulations.”

Beyond celebrating the court’s decision, Blessing CEO also used the opportunity to address relationship issues, advising individuals not to remain in marriages or partnerships that have become unhealthy or unsafe.

The development has since generated mixed reactions online. While some congratulated IVD and praised the court’s ruling, others revisited the controversies and public debates that surrounded the case in the years following Bimbo’s death.

Recall that in August, IVD was arrested at the airport while attempting to travel to Qatar, following claims that he was restricted from leaving the country due to the ongoing domestic violence case involving his late wife.

With the court now clearing him of the charges, Blessing CEO has maintained that the ordeal is finally over, adding that her partner can now move forward and reclaim his life after years of legal battles and public scrutiny.

“No mother can be at peace while separated from her children” – Regina Daniels allǝges Ned Nwoko has filed for full custody and dismissed her nannies (WATCH)

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has broken her silence amid an ongoing dispute involving her children, stating that no mother can truly be at peace while separated from her kids.

In an emotional post shared online, the actress suggested that although many people believe she is happy, she has been quietly dealing with the pain of being apart from her children.

She explained that her decision to step away from the situation publicly was intentional, as she refused to allow the pain to define or imprison her, adding that it took time for her to finally walk away.

Regina also raised concerns over what she described as the repeated public exposure of her children by their father, senator Ned Nwoko.

According to her, the public display of the children at this sensitive time appears deliberate and has inevitably attracted media attention.

She questioned whether such actions were motivated by a desire for public engagement rather than parental responsibility, noting that a public figure with legislative experience would be aware of the consequences of such exposure.

The actress revealed that she chose to remain silent initially to avoid escalating matters online but felt compelled to speak out following continued actions she described as immature.

In her words, she suggested that the former lawmaker’s conduct had shifted from statesmanship to attention-seeking.

Regina further alleged that she last spoke to her children in mid-November, claiming that Ned Nwoko dismissed all her nannies and pressured them into making false statements accusing her of violence and alcohol abuse, allegedly in the presence of the children.

She also stated that he has since filed for full custody, despite already having physical custody of the children.

Expressing confusion and pain, Regina questioned whether she truly posed such a threat as to warrant what she described as an aggressive challenge to her motherhood.

She emphasized that despite her young age, she deeply enjoys being a mother and misses caring for her children.

Ending her statement on a defiant note, the actress made it clear that she has no intention of backing down, declaring that she will fight for her children and remain confident that she will see them again soon.

Security officer allǝgedly as$@ults visitor during birthday visit at Elizade University (WATCH)

Tension reportedly flared at Elizade University, Ondo State, after a visitor who came to celebrate his brother’s birthday was allegedly assaulted by a security officer while leaving the campus.

According to eyewitness accounts, the visitor had gone to the university to celebrate his brother’s birthday alongside some of his friends. He reportedly arrived with a cake and other gifts, but was informed by university authorities that cakes were not permitted on campus.

Sources said the visitor complied with the directive and decided to leave the premises peacefully with his friends. However, the situation allegedly escalated as they were exiting the school.

Eyewitnesses claimed that a security official began shouting at the visitor, questioning his presence despite being informed that he was a guest.

The visitor reportedly asked why he was being shouted at, insisting that he had come solely to celebrate his brother’s birthday.

According to one of the visitor’s friends, the confrontation intensified when the security officer allegedly demanded handcuffs.

The alleged assault reportedly occurred in public view, leading to claims of humiliation and distress for the visitor.

“We were already on our way out of the school when the man started shouting at him. The guy asked why he was being shouted at and said he was a visitor. The man got angry and started asking for handcuffs. He kept saying he only came for his brother’s birthday. That was when the man slapped him on the face, not once, but twice.” An eyewitness recounted

As of the time of filing this report, Elizade University management has not released an official statement addressing the incident or the allegations against the security officer.

The development has raised concerns among students and members of the public over the conduct of security personnel and the treatment of visitors on university campuses.

“Japa is extremely hard” – YouTuber Tayo Aina opens up after relocating to Portugal

Popular YouTuber Tayo Aina has opened up about the realities of relocating abroad, describing the japa experience as far more difficult than many people anticipate.

Speaking about his move to Portugal, the content creator explained that leaving behind familiarity and starting over in a new country has been emotionally and socially challenging.

According to him, the situation was even tougher because Portugal is not a common destination for Nigerians.

Tayo revealed that the Nigerian population in Portugal is relatively small, estimating that there are about 5,000 Nigerians spread across the country. This limited presence, he noted, has made it difficult to build a support system.

He added that returning to Nigeria occasionally helps him reconnect with his roots, saying being around people who look like him and speak the same language makes a significant difference.

Despite the challenges, Tayo acknowledged some positives of living in Portugal, including improved infrastructure and a calmer lifestyle.

“It’s very hard, this japa thing… because for you to leave behind everything you know and go into a new country… mine is even worse. I went to a country that most Nigerians don’t go to. They don’t speak the same language, so there are not a lot of Nigerians in Portugal. Not having a community and just trying to start to grow a new community, especially when you’re older, it’s more harder because everybody is busy. Not having internet is no more a problem, ease of travel is much better, it’s just a more calmer society,” he said

However, he also pointed out that Portugal offers fewer opportunities compared to other Western European countries, particularly for newcomers trying to integrate into the system.

Tunde Onakoya shares regrets over the choices his teachers made for him despite his passions

World Chess record holder Tunde Onakoya has sparked conversation online after sharing a personal reflection on X (Twitter) about how a decision made by his secondary school teachers significantly altered the direction of his life.

Onakoya revealed that one of his greatest regrets was being discouraged from pursuing the Arts, despite his passion for debates and dreams of becoming a lawyer.

According to him, teachers at his school insisted that the Science class was reserved for the brightest students, while the Arts class was wrongly portrayed as a place for underperformers.

“One of my greatest regrets in life was letting the teachers in my secondary school convince us that Art class was for dullards and science class for the smartest students. I was excellent at debates, loved words, and really wanted to be lawyer but they wouldn’t let me. They made that choice for me before I understood what it meant. I’m pretty sure this was a moment that altered the trajectory of the lives of so many Nigerian kids.” His tweet read

Onakoya added that the system did not only affect him but likely changed the destiny of so many Nigerian kids who were pushed into academic paths they did not choose.

His post has since generated reactions online, with many Nigerians echoing similar experiences and criticising what the long-standing bias within the country’s educational system.

‎Nigerian content creator and social media influencer Ashmusy has come under scrutiny after being accused of making a false claim about owning a newly completed luxury property.

The controversy follows her announcement celebrating the completion of a four-unit duplex in Lekki, which she attributed to years of hard work and dedication.

The post drew significant attention, with many followers congratulating her on what appeared to be a major milestone.

However, a realtor operating under the Instagram handle ‘superblachomes’ has publicly disputed the claim, alleging that the property was never purchased by the influencer.

According to the realtor, the duplex is still listed for sale and has not been transferred to any new owner.

“Ignore the lies. This property was never acquired by your fave and is still very much available for sale.” The realtor’s post read

The allegation has since sparked debate across social media, with users sharing mixed reactions.

While some criticised the influencer for allegedly misleading her followers, others asked for patience until she provides her side of the story.

As of the time of reporting, Ashmusy has not issued any statement addressing the claims.

Below are some of the comments;

Why didn’t they talk that time she posted it….be like you guys are not on the same page anymore , probably an Ad before.

I keep asking myself, what exactly are these influencers trying to prove?

How did she have access into the building if the realtor didn’t enable her?

What if it’s her property and it’s in the market for sell? Should she carry it around on her head?

Traveler shocked after landing in complete darkness at Lagos Murtala Muhammed International Airport (VIDEO)

A Nigerian traveller has sparked widespread discussion online after sharing a harrowing account of landing at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, only to step into what he described as complete darkness.

The video, which he posted online quickly went viral, capturing the moment of confusion and frustration as passengers disembarked and attempted to navigate parts of the airport with no visible power supply.

In the clip, the traveller expressed disbelief that such a major international gateway could be left without functional lighting or an adequate backup system.

Frequent travellers also voiced concerns, saying the situation illustrates ongoing issues with infrastructure reliability at the airport.

“Forgive me and my family” – 2Baba publicly apologises amid ongoing marital controversy

Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has tendered a public apology as the controversy surrounding his marriage to Natasha Osawaru continues to escalate.

The drama began after two of his former managers, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, accused Natasha of trying to assume full control of the singer’s finances and career during a live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze.

During the broadcast, 2Baba unexpectedly joined the conversation, urging his ex-managers to stop discussing his private life.

Moments later, a heated exchange between him and Natasha was overheard off-camera before the live abruptly ended.

The situation intensified when members of 2Baba’s family filed a petition to the Inspector-General of Police, accusing Natasha of assault, bigamy, and financial misconduct.

They alleged she attacked the singer in both the UK and Abuja, and withheld his personal documents, including his passport.

However, 2Baba distanced himself from his family’s claims, saying their efforts to save him were causing more harm than good.

He insisted their accusations were unfairly damaging Natasha’s reputation and deeply interfering in his marriage.

According to him, Natasha has been receiving death threats as a result of the controversy.

Addressing the matter at a recent public event, the 50-year-old singer apologised for the chaos that has unfolded publicly, describing it as unnecessary entertainment.

“I must say that I don provide too much entertainment. Please do not be angry at me again. Please forgive me and my family.” He said

Pastor Adeboye shares reason he avoids having a female secretary (VIDEO)

Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has revealed the reason he no longer works with female secretaries.

Speaking to his congregation, the respected cleric explained that the decision stemmed from the nature of his workload, which often keeps him in the office late into the night.

He noted that being alone with a female staff member during such hours could create unnecessary risks or misinterpretations.

According to him, the choice was a personal precaution, not an act of gender discrimination.

Pastor Adeboye emphasized that his previous female secretaries were exceptional in their service, describing them as wonderful and true children of God.

He acknowledged that they played significant roles during his earlier years in ministry, particularly during his time at Ebute Meta.

“From the moment I got to a stage where, at night, I still have to work, I ceased to have a female secretary. Some people think it is gender discrimination. I know myself. I know who I was before Jesus saved my soul. I know the possibility of dangers in being left alone at night with people of the opposite sex.” He said

He recalled how dedicated his last female secretary was, noting that she often worked into the early hours of the morning.

However, he stressed that such a setting, being alone at 2 or 3 a.m. could easily be misunderstood or lead to temptation, hence his decision to switch to male secretaries for late-night duties.

Pastor Adeboye maintained that his choice is purely about safeguarding himself and his ministry, urging people not to interpret it as a slight against women but as a personal boundary rooted in prudence and self-awareness.

Reverend sister responds after facing backlash over wearing trousers in birthday photoshoot

A Reverend sister, Gina King, has publicly addressed criticism that trailed her birthday photoshoot after she appeared wearing medical scrubs in the pictures.

The photos, which she shared earlier, sparked debate among social media users who questioned her choice of attire.

Many commenters argued that the outfit was inappropriate for a consecrated Catholic sister, prompting widespread conversation online.

In a statement released on her Facebook page, Sister Gina clarified that the outfit was not a fashion statement but her standard professional uniform as a healthcare worker.

“The outfit I wore is called a medical scrub, and it is the standard uniform required for healthcare practitioners. As a consecrated person, my consecration does not stop me from carrying out my duties as a healthcare worker.” She wrote

She explained that scrubs must include trousers for practical and safety reasons within medical environments.

According to her, the clothing is essential for free movement, proper coverage, comfort, and safety when attending to patients.

Sister Gina further emphasized that religious sisters serve God in different fields, including education, administration, charity, and healthcare.

Her current calling, she said, involves serving through the medical profession, which requires her to dress appropriately.

She went on by urging critics and supporters alike to look beyond her attire, advising them to focus on the heart of service rather than the external attire.

TECNO’s AFCON-Ready AI Features Reflect a New Era in Mobile Sports Viewing

TECNO, official CAF global partner, introduces four intelligent tools designed to transform how fans watch, interpret, and share the continent’s biggest football tournament.

As preparations intensify for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, TECNO has introduced a suite of football-focused AI features designed to reshape the way millions of Africans experience the tournament. The launch, powered by the company’s proprietary Ella AI system, reflects a growing shift in how football is consumed in the digital age, not only in stadiums and living rooms, but through the lenses, feeds, and instant reactions that dominate smartphones across the continent.

For many fans, the smartphone has become a second screen, a debate platform, a slow-motion studio, and a memory archive. TECNO’s latest tools attempt to formalize that reality, turning everyday devices into active companions capable of interpreting the match as it unfolds.

At the center of the rollout is Ella Match Decoder, an AI engine that reads on-field movement, tactical patterns, and key plays in real time. The feature delivers instant, simplified analysis normally reserved for professional commentators, allowing casual viewers to understand momentum shifts, defensive structures, or build-up sequences with unusual clarity.

The suite also includes visual recognition capabilities through Ella Snap & Know, while Ella Match Highlight compiles personalized summaries of decisive actions, goals, recoveries, combinations, errors, or turning points. Fans gain autonomy over what they revisit and share, independent of official broadcast clips or social-media circulation.

Meanwhile, Ella Star Cam shifts focus from the pitch to the stands. Described by TECNO as a “superstar lens,” the tool is built to capture what defines the AFCON experience for many: the chants, synchronized dances, sharp pivots of excitement, and collective euphoria that animate African football culture. The feature anticipates movement and emotion, creating footage that feels closer to immersion than observation.

Together, the tools express TECNO’s broader , Aspire Intelligence philosophy, which interprets AI not as a distant technical layer but as an intuitive part of everyday behavior. In the context of football, the company says, that, focusing on the small details that shape how people watch, debate, and emotionally process the game from tactical curiosity to the instinct to document fleeting celebration.

As an Official Partner of the Confederation of African Football, TECNO plans to integrate the technology into its on-ground booths, fan-engagement zones, and digital communities throughout the tournament. The company describes the rollout as part of a larger effort to create a more participatory football ecosystem, one where fans help define the narrative rather than merely consume it.

With AFCON 2025 expected to dominate screens and social platforms across the continent, TECNO’s announcement underscores a broader shift: smartphones no longer simply record the atmosphere around the game; they interpret it, contextualize it, and shape how it is remembered.

Zainab Balogun blames IJGBs for inflated ‘dirty December’ prices (VIDEO)

Nigerian actress Zainab Balogun has sparked a debate on social media after publicly calling out IJGBs, the popular term for Nigerians returning home in December, for contributing to the sharp rise in prices during the festive season.

In a candid video shared on Instagram, the actress said she needed all the IJGBs doing Dirty December in Ghana, Nigeria, wherever to step forward, because local vendors were dealing with them seriously this year.

According to her, the seasonal inflation currently affecting hair, beauty, and lifestyle services is something the returning crowd unintentionally created.

Zainab explained that many IJGBs frequently make content bragging about getting services for cheap back home, like $60 braids, despite warnings from locals to stop publicizing those comparisons.

She said such posts opened vendors’ eyes, inspiring some of them to take advantage by drastically inflating their prices this December.

She cited an example of a woman who allegedly paid ₦800,000 for braids and ended up with a ₦2.5 million bill because the extensions were human hair–infused.

According to the actress, these inflated prices are not the norm for residents; she argued that the price surge is strictly seasonal, and it is the IJGBs who will face it while locals avoid the exploitative costs.

Her comments have since triggered widespread reactions, with many Nigerians agreeing that returning visitors often worsen seasonal market behaviour, while others argue that service providers should be held accountable for their excessive pricing.

“Men can be gold diggers too” – Lady says as she shares surprising Abuja encounter (VIDEO)

A young lady has stirred discussion on social media after asserting that men in Abuja can also be gold diggers, challenging the often-repeated narrative that only women seek financial benefits in relationships.

In a video shared on X (Twitter), the lady recounted her personal experiences since relocating to the nation’s capital.

She admitted that she used to dismiss claims about Abuja men exploiting women financially until she encountered it firsthand.

“It is happening. Before I came to Abuja, I didn’t believe it. When they told me Abuja men are this and that, I didn’t believe it. I’m not the type to judge till it came to me,” she said.

According to her, several men she met displayed a subtle but consistent interest in her financial capacity rather than a genuine connection.

She said they frequently asked probing questions such as where she lived, whether she lived alone, and how much she earned, conversations that eventually led to requests for money.

She noted that society often criticizes women for spending men’s money, yet her experiences show that some men also engage in the same behaviour, seeking relationships primarily for material gain.

Her story has triggered a debate online, with many sharing similar encounters and others defending Abuja men from generalization.

Wizkid’s first son, Boluwatife Balogun, widely known by his stage name Champz, has opened up about his growing passion for music and his determination to build his own identity outside his father’s global stardom.

2Baba blasts family over interference in marriage, says wife Natasha receiving dǝath thrǝats (WATCH)

Nigerian music legend Innocent2Baba’ Idibia has publicly condemned his family for allegedly interfering in his marriage to Natasha Osawuru, claiming that his wife is now receiving death threats as a result of their actions.

The singer’s statement comes in response to a petition filed by his family to the Inspector-General of Police, which accused Osawuru of assault, bigamy, and financial misconduct.

The petition reportedly alleged that Natasha physically assaulted 2Baba in the United Kingdom and Abuja and withheld his personal documents, including his passport.

In a now-viral video, 2Baba rejected his family’s narrative, arguing that their attempts to save him are instead destroying his life and unfairly tarnishing Natasha’s character.

“I’m a grown man, and I believe I have the right to be with whoever I want to be with, I am perfectly okay and I recently performed at a show in Abuja. Yes, Natasha and I had a quarrel, which is normal between couples, but this is getting out of hand. Natasha is getting death threats right now. My family, who claim they want to save me, have actually destroyed me and damaged someone’s daughter’s character,” the singer said.

2Baba described the petition and the surrounding rumours as fabricated lies and stories, dismissing them as nonsense, and expressed deep hurt and stress over the situation.

He appealed for an end to the harassment and urged his family and others to respect his privacy.

The controversy escalated after 2Baba’s former managers, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, appeared on a live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze.

During the broadcast, they accused Natasha of seeking full control over the singer’s finances and career.

2Baba intervened in the live session, instructing the former managers to stop discussing his private life.

However, shortly afterward, heated arguments between him and Natasha were audible off-camera, before the live broadcast abruptly ended.

The singer promised to address further details in the coming days, emphasizing that while he understands concern for his well-being, the harassment of his wife and the intrusion into his private life are unacceptable.

Man retracts claims after accusing Ned Nwoko of plotting Regina Daniels’ a$s@ssination (WATCH)

A young man who previously claimed that Senator Ned Nwoko paid him to assassinate the actress Regina Daniels has now retracted his statement, admitting the allegation was entirely fabricated.

The individual, known as Liar of TikTok, went viral after releasing a video in which he accused the senator of sponsoring an alleged assassination attempt on Regina Daniels’ life.

His claims surfaced amid ongoing reports of marital tension between Ned Nwoko and the Nollywood actress, causing widespread public concern.

Following the viral video, Ned Nwoko issued a formal statement strongly denying any involvement in such an act and announced plans to pursue legal action against the accuser for defamation.

In a new video posted online, the man made a dramatic U-turn, confessing that he creates false stories purely for attention.

He insisted that he never directly mentioned Ned Nwoko’s name nor used his image, despite the clear implications of his earlier claims.

He said, “Please, Ned, Regina’s husband, I was not talking to you. My name is Liar of TikTok. That’s my name. I tell lies. I go online and tell lies. I was not referring to Ned Nwoko. I didn’t even call his name. I didn’t put his picture.”

“A man’s money should reflect on his woman” – Lady says (WATCH)

A Nigerian lady has sparked widespread debate online after stating that a man’s financial success should be evident in the appearance and lifestyle of the woman he is with.

The lady shared her opinion during an episode of the Honest Bunch podcast, where she argued that a man who is financially comfortable naturally ensures that his partner looks good, is well cared for, and reflects his level of prosperity.

Using cultural references to back her point, she noted that in some Igbo communities, men are known for dressing modestly, often opting for very simple clothing.

According to her, people sometimes look at the wife, not the husband to determine the true financial status of a household.

“A man’s money should reflect on his woman. It shows you are doing well. In Igbo land, you’ll see a man wearing a short nicker and looking anyhow, but if you want to know he’s rich, look at his wife.” She said

Her statement has since garnered mixed reactions online, while some agreed that many men take pride in ensuring their partners are well presented, arguing that it reflects love, responsibility, and stability.

Others, however, dismissed the view as superficial and outdated, insisting that wealth should not be measured by outward appearance and that both partners should be free to dress and present themselves however they choose without societal pressure or judgment.

The interview featured Professor Toyin Falola, Bishop of Sokoto Diocese Matthew Hassan Kukah, and former presidential candidate Professor Kingsley Moghalu.

Obasanjo explained that although he has preserved countless personal and historical documents over the years, none contain a verifiable record of his true birth date.

“I don’t know my exact age, but I could judge from those who were in school with me. I believe there are six of my classmates in secondary school who are still alive, and none of them is less than 90 years of age. So I leave it to you to guess what my age could be.” He said

The former president used the conversation to highlight the importance of record-keeping and institutional memory, one of the motivations behind establishing the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL).

According to him, more than three million materials have already been digitised, with another three million awaiting digitisation.

Obasanjo disclosed that the library houses an extensive collection of his personal records, including his primary and secondary school documents, manuscripts of books he wrote, some completed during his imprisonment, and even agricultural samples such as maize crops he planted while in prison.

He added that letters he wrote at various defining moments in his life are also stored there, including one addressed to the late General Sani Abacha after the death of his son, and another to his wife during his incarceration.

Chike opens up about the awkward church moment that drove him away (WATCH)

Nigerian singer Chike has opened up about the personal experiences that have shaped his relationship with faith and his decision to step back from attending church.

Speaking in a recent interview, the artist recalled an unexpected incident that occurred years ago at a church he briefly attended.

According to him, the encounter left him so uncomfortable that he stopped going altogether.

Chike explained that the praise-and-worship leader in the church happened to be someone with whom he had a past, and seeing her on the altar brought back memories he struggled to process in that moment.

“The chick that was leading the praise and worship, we had history. And I couldn’t… I’m like… I was having flashbacks. And she was kabashing, and I’m like… who’s that? Not because I don’t believe in God, because I do, a moment earlier in my career when I prayed earnestly for support while living in Primewater Gardens with my then-girlfriend. I just said a prayer. I just said, God, I don’t have anybody. I don’t have anything. Just help me.” He said

He said the situation felt awkward and distracting, prompting him to stay away from the church after just a week. However, Chike emphasized that his decision was not a rejection of God or spirituality.

The singer also touched on a confusing experience that occurred shortly after releasing his debut album, revealing that he unknowingly consumed a very strong edible.

Despite believing deeply in God, Chike noted that the structured environment of the church does not align with his personal lifestyle or preferences.

He concluded by stressing that what truly matters, whether in public life, private life, or leadership, is living with integrity and treating people well.

UK-based Nigerian woman brǝaks down after boyfriend leaves her for another lady (WATCH)

A UK-based Nigerian woman has gone viral after posting an emotional video on TikTok in which she lamented being dumped by her Nigerian boyfriend for a Zimbabwean woman.

The woman shared a tearful clip recounting the end of her relationship and the emotional turmoil that followed.

In the video, she questioned what she described as an increasing competition between Zimbabwean and Nigerian women when it comes to dating Nigerian men abroad.

According to her, she struggled to understand why a Zimbabwean woman would be interested in her partner when there are men in her own country to date.

Visibly distressed, she claimed her boyfriend ended their relationship because he preferred the Zimbabwean woman, allegedly citing physical features that he found more attractive.

She added that the breakup was particularly painful because she feels she is nearing menopause and worries that time is no longer on her side.

In the video, she said;

“Zimbabwean ladies, what’s this competition between you and Nigerian ladies over our own prosperity, our own men? Don’t you have men in your country? My boyfriend left me in the UK over a Zimbabwean lady just because I don’t have big nyash and front… I’m really frustrated right now ’cause I’m nearing menopause. Leave our men alone.”

Her video has since generated mixed reactions online, with some viewers offering sympathy over her heartbreak, while others cautioned against framing relationship issues as rivalry between nationalities.

“Fame didn’t end my friendships” – Hilda Baci (VIDEO)

Nigerian chef and Guinness World Record breaker Hilda Baci has opened up about how her rise to fame has affected her personal relationships.

During a recent appearance on Spicy Level 6, the interviewer, Ify’s Kitchen had asked her to name any friends she believed fame had cost her or whose friendships were affected by her success.

Hilda responded by clarifying that she does not attribute any friendship loss to fame.

According to her, the friendships that ended simply ran their natural course rather than being casualties of her growing popularity.

“Honestly, I wouldn’t say that fame cost me my friends. Quite frankly, I genuinely don’t think that it was fame. I feel like friendships that fell through along the way were friendships that were not meant to be. Any friends that I am not friends with or I am not close to, I genuinely just think that maybe their purpose in my life has been served or my purpose in their life has been served. You know what, love and light, let’s just keep it pushing.” She said.

She explained that she believes every relationship has a purpose and that some people leave one’s life once that purpose has been fulfilled.

Her remarks have sparked conversations online, with many praising her mature perspective on friendships and personal growth.

2Baba marriage saga escalates as family petitions police over allǝged abu$e and financial misconduct

The public drama involving music icon Innocent2Baba‘ Idibia and his wife, Natasha Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, has intensified as the singer’s family has reportedly taken the matter to law enforcement.

The controversy first escalated after a confrontation between the couple appeared during an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze.

The footage, along with emerging concerns about the couple’s relationship, prompted the Edo State House of Assembly to summon Osawaru before its Ethics and Privileges Committee.

In the midst of public speculation, 2Baba attempted to reassure fans, stating that he was safe and well.

According to reports, 2Baba’s family has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, urging an investigation into Osawaru over a range of serious allegations.

In a letter dated November 12, the family accused the lawmaker of physical assault, bigamy, financial misconduct, and misappropriation of funds.

They alleged that her actions resulted in emotional distress, damage to 2Baba’s reputation, and financial losses.

The petition reportedly lists several concerns, including: Alleged physical assaults, unauthorized access to the singer’s phone and bank accounts, seizing his personal belongings and travel documents.

In their appeal, the petitioners asked police authorities to thoroughly investigate the allegations, expressing fears for 2Baba’s personal safety and emotional well-being.

This is not the first time the singer’s family has raised public concern. In February, they reportedly petitioned the State Security Service (SSS), claiming 2Baba had gone missing.

At the time, the family said neither his record label, close associates, nor staff members were able to reach him.

They further alleged that friends received calls from unknown individuals using the singer’s social media accounts to request money, fueling fears of possible abduction.

Man recounts how his wife ignored his calls, leading to a night of tǝrror at home

An X (Twitter) user has recounted a distressing incident he overheard at a local bank while waiting to resolve a cash-withdrawal issue.

According to the tweet, a married couple had left home earlier in the day after a misunderstanding.

The husband reportedly returned home first, while the wife was delayed on her way back, likely due to heavy traffic.

At about 7 p.m., armed robbers allegedly broke into their apartment.

The husband, attempting to protect himself, hid in the bathroom and repeatedly called his wife, urging her not to return home and to contact security operatives instead.

Despite several missed calls and multiple text messages, she did not respond.

The intruders eventually discovered the husband and, realizing he was expecting his wife, waited in the home until she finally arrived around 9 p.m. She was attacked upon arrival, sustaining severe trauma.

In the aftermath, the husband expressed his intention to file for divorce an action that has sparked disagreement within the family, as his in-laws reportedly consider him wicked for the decision.

The storyteller questioned the emotional disconnect that could lead a spouse to ignore several calls from their partner, especially after work hours, stating that many people are married to complete strangers.

Church member cr!es out after pastor refuses to pay for painting job, says ‘reward is in heaven’

A church member has publicly accused his pastor of refusing to pay him for a painting job, sparking debate online about fairness and accountability.

In a video shared on social media, the man recounted how he used his own money to purchase paint and complete a full house painting project at the pastor’s residence.

According to him, when he requested payment, the pastor reportedly told him that his reward was in heaven.

The church member expressed frustration at being denied compensation for work completed on the pastor’s home, questioning the logic of being promised spiritual reward while still handling real-world expenses himself.

He also pointed out an apparent contradiction, alleging that the pastor, who emphasizes heavenly rewards to his congregation, had recently purchased 30 hectares of land.

He said;

“Pastor says make me come paint his house, I use my money go paint the pastor’s house. After I finished painting his house, I came and met the pastor so he could pay me my money. The pastor said my reward is in heaven. I called pastor Emma, na heaven I paint or your own house? Upon say na my money I use buy paint. The pastor wey talk say our reward dey heaven stand for earth, but he buy 30 hectares of land.”

The video has since sparked widespread discussion online, with many questioning the ethics of church leaders asking for voluntary labor while living comfortably.

Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, gives an update on the ongoing DNA court case with the late singer’s father-in-law

The paternity dispute surrounding Liam, the son of late singer Mohbad, has resurfaced after his mother, Wunmi, addressed claims that she has been avoiding a DNA test demanded by the singer’s father.

The matter comes in the wake of Mohbad’s father revealing that the DNA court case has been reopened and asserting that the singer will not be buried until the process is completed.

The bereaved grandfather has repeatedly questioned Liam’s paternity and approached the court to compel Wunmi to submit the child for testing, leading to public speculation that she has been stalling the proceedings.

In a statement shared through her lawyers on Instagram, Wunmi countered these claims, insisting that it has been Mohbad’s father who has caused the delay.

She explained that the case resumed in court yesterday, where her father-in-law requested that the DNA test be conducted exclusively in two hospitals of his choice.

However, the court rejected this request, ruling that the test must be carried out in neutral and independent hospitals where neither party has personal interests.

Wunmi emphasized that this requirement has contributed to the delay, but stressed that she remains ready to comply with the court’s directive once neutral facilities are appointed.
