Burna Boy and Davido shade each other on social media? Here’s what we know

So it looks like there’s some sorta subtle shade going on between Nigerian music acts, Burna Boy and Davido following recent posts they made on their respective social media pages.

Afropop singing sensation and record label boss, Davido had taken to his page earlier to announce that he’s up to something and will be letting the cat out of the bag come July…

He took to his story to share a series of snaps and judging from it, it feels like he might be dropping either a song, an EP or an album come July. See below,

Not long after his post, Afro-fusion singer, Burna Boy took to his own page to drop a cryptic message that references “July”. In it, he says the month will be very funny and he’ll laugh accordingly when the time comes. His post,

This served as the first phase of why some people think Burna Boy might have taken a swipe at the “Nwa Baby” crooner but not many read meaning to it… not until Davido took to his page to share a photo of himself and singer, Wizkid dubbing the both of them the greatest of all time in the music scene.

Davido, sharing a photo of himself with Wizkid is a rather seldom act which fans get to see as over time, there’s been speculations that there’s an underlying beef between the both of them over who’s better in the music scene.

However, some years back, the pair both graced each other’s stages during their concerts which led many to believe that there might not be animosity between the both of them..

Davido’s post both on his Twitter and Instagram pages has since gained massive attention on social media and not long after he posted the photo, Burna Boy also took to his SnapChat to share yet another cryptic message which has people believing that he’s definitely throwing a shade at “Daddy Ifeanyi“.

He wrote,

It should be recalled that Burna Boy —self acclaimed African Giant— not long ago, proved himself to be a big fan of Wizkid when there was a battle of hits which featured the “Joro” singer and Jamaican recording artist, Vybes Kartel — a battle the singer won flawlessly.

The situation with Davido and Burna Boy has since become a trending topic on Twitter with a lot of their fans giving their takes on their subtle posts.
