A groom has gone viral after sharing his comedic and honest reaction to his traditional wedding outfit, which he describes as giving off major “chieftaincy at an African masquerade” energy.

He was dressed in a cultural ensemble: white flowing fabric, embellished with fringe, elaborate beadwork, Akupe (traditional chieftaincy hand fan), and a red headpiece.
Although the ensemble was clearly designed to impress the groom, his reaction to seeing himself was what stole the moment, as he was less than pleased with his outfit.

He mockingly lamented how the outfit made him look, likening himself to a retired chief preparing for a masquerade festival in amusement and disbelief.
This caused his wife-to-be to erupt in laughter, clearly enjoying the lighthearted moment and taking pleasure in his discomfort.

Despite his initial reaction, many users online praised how he handled the fitting session, not taking himself too seriously and getting mad at his tailor.

@CBM: The style is actually nice. It’s just to reduce the lenght, increase the side opening more and add to the sides to make it more free due to the body size. It’s because the top is slightly tight on him that’s why he’s feeling like it’s a bad style.
@Veebeautique: The demonstration was very necessary 🤣🤣
@✨Olatundun ✨: “You’re just missing accessories” yes, just cowries 😂😂
