A Nigerian lady has stirred reactions online after recounting an encounter with her ex-boyfriend’s mother years after their relationship ended.
According to the lady, she met the woman at a local market, where the older woman warmly addressed her as “my daughter” and tried to persuade her to buy from her.
However, the lady claimed the same woman had allegedly opposed her relationship with her son years earlier because she wasn’t Igbo but Igala, preventing them from getting married.
Rather than patronize her former boyfriend’s mother, the lady said she deliberately walked past her stall and bought everything she needed from a neighbouring trader instead.
Even though the woman tried to be friendly with her, she didn’t respond because of the hatred she showed her then.
Sharing the experience in a video, she admitted that seeing the woman’s disappointed reaction gave her a sense of satisfaction, joking that the payback felt sweet after what she had gone through.
