A woman has shared how she realized that she had built in m!sogyny when she automatically wanted to make a boy the class monitor.
She was to appoint class representatives in a class and had a male and female pupil to make up the team. While deliberating between the two pupils, she realized that she automatically wanted to appoint the boy as the class monitor and the girl as the assistant.
According to her, the girl was more intelligent, active, and punctual in comparison to the boy, yet she didn’t see her as a first choice. She immediately had to caution and asked herself why the girl couldn’t be the monitor and the boy the assistant.
This has taught her that a lot of people have built-in misogynistic tendencies they don’t even know about. People have been made to believe that men are superior to women, and it has become part of their psyche. It has pushed her to know that even as an advocate for women and the girl-child, she still has a lot of work to do on herself in regards to the mis0gyn!stic believes that has become part of most people’s daily lives.
