A man shared how a friend he lent ₦1M to support his wedding later turned around and claimed it as a wedding gift.
According to the man, the groom called two weeks before his wedding to request ₦ 1 M to sort out expenses. The man then transferred the money, keeping in mind that the groom promised to pay it back after the wedding.

A month later, he reached out regarding the repayment, but the newlywed husband gaslit him with the wedding: “Ah I thought you gave me the money as a wedding gift?”, he told him. He tried to laugh it off and reminded him that the ₦200,000 he gave him during his marriage introduction was his wedding gift to them; the ₦1,000,000 was a loan. The husband-friend tells him that his wife already thinks that the money was a loan, and he should kindly not bring it up again.
