According to TikTok user, Sheshiiithuo, her mother passed on from a H!V related illn3ss from when she was a child and her grandmother took her and her brother in because their father left.
When she turned 10 years, they noticed that she was always s!ck with illn3sses like pneumonia. Her immunity was deteriorating so her grandmother took her to the same doctor who treated her mother before she passed. He decided to flag her for a H!V test following her late mother’s medical history.
The test was carried out and it returned positive. Unknow to her then, she got placed on ARVs which improved her health. When she was around 13 she began to wonder why she was taking the medication and another medical center that offered free services, suggested that she gets told what she was living with — which they did. Discovering her status opened her to another level of grief. She lamented how her mother let her down by passing on the virus to her and also living her alone to cope with it alone.
Until she started meeting support groups where she met teenagers like her, coupled with the super support from her family that she gradually became lighter. And after her form 4 she decided to fully accept who she is. Years later she would have a chance to build a relationship. She explained her situation to the man and how he and their future children would remain H!V negative (through U=U).
He decided that he would have to go and think about it before committing to her. Six years later, they are married with a H!V negative child. Watch videos below:
