Nollywood actor, Ayo Olaiya has reacted after facing heavy criticism for holding his colleague, Abiola Adebayo, by the waist during her child’s naming ceremony.
The actress, who recently welcomed a child with her husband via surrogacy after years of waiting, held a lavish ceremony for their baby at their residence on Sunday, April 16th.”
The event was attended by family, friends, and a long list of colleagues in the entertainment industry.
Actor Ayo Olaiya, who was also present at the event, took to his Instagram page and shared a video that captured his fun moments with the new mom during the naming ceremony.
In the video, Olaiya was seen holding the waist of his married colleague, which stirred reactions from netizens.

Reacting to the video, social media users noted that holding a married woman by the waist was inappropriate and disrespectful to her husband.
“See how this olaiya held somebody’s wife for waist. Thank God say her husband no be the jealous type 🤗🤗🤗. Congratulations sis Biola.” An Instagram follower wrote.
“I wish say u go fit stand make another man dey hold ur own wife too, cos ur own too much haba e be like say ur eyes just open to make u dey hold every woman for waist ni egbon Ayo, anyway congrats to her”, another user added.
Interestingly one of the comments caught Olaiya’s attention and he responded.
Replying to a follower who wrote, “Always holding some up and down”. , Olaiya wrote, “It’s because I love women. Thanks for noticing that”.
