“@ufuomamcdermott n I av sweet story 4 U about @terryforu aka #SorryForYou .We were at the cinema to sell tickets for #WivesOnStrike,Along comes Mr Pidgin (We christened him so because of his tee shirt) who not only ran down a movie HE HADN’T SEEN but also ran down the whole industry calling it #AfricaMagic.We tried to talk to him but it all fell on deaf ears. His friend who was going to see the movie was immediately confused and bought another ticket. We sold out our show and had to turn back a lady who wanted 4 tickets and 2 guys who wanted 2 tickets each. Pidgin was shocked. First of all that the movie had sold out and secondly that guys were coming to ask for it! We saw regret in his eyes & taunted him a little.
“We went in with our greatly supportive audience who had a good time seeing the movie. By the time we walked out, the queue for Pigin’s movie was waiting outside. There he stood gaping unbelievably at us as our audience flanked us to congratulate, take pictures and thank us for putting out a great product. We kept asking them to speak up so he could hear and properly take in the reviews . Pidgin could not take it anymore. He left the line and walked up to us apologizing for his earlier snide remarks. He wanted a picture but we had to politely ask him to wait so the real supporters can take theirs first. Oh did he wait! Chai belle was sweeting us every time We looked his way and saw him perplexed.
“My dear Nigerians, I know we appreciate foreign things due to our own lack of expertise, but for as long as our monies go to Hollywood producers, Hollywood will keep improving and we will remain in your face without the expertise. We cannot grow without your support. Many of us have seen bad Hollywood movies in cinemas but we still go again. Batman had horrible reviews but you kept on watching. We’re asking you to cut us the same slack. Support us. I mean US and not PIRATES who mass dub our products and sell in traffic. Put ur money where your mouth is and watch us grow. Watch us create more employment and grow the economy. Watch us attract tourism &investments without using ur taxes,as we change Nigeria’s image. Terry is now a Supporter. Are U?”
