Catriona Laing, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, has denounced the barbaric death of Deborah Samuel, a female Shehu Shagari College of Education student, for alleged blasphemy.

Deborah Samuel was killed by a mob in Sokoto on Thursday, May 12 for allegedly blaspheming Prophet Muhammad in a social media post.

Reacting to the gruesome killing of the young lady, in a tweet on Friday May 13, Catriona Laing said those who killed the Christian student must be made to face justice in line with the law. 

“I condemn the murder of Deborah Samuel in Sokoto, and urge the police and relevant authorities to ensure the perpetrators of this horrific act are made to face justice in line with the law.” She tweeted.

In other news, former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said any leader that remains silent and refuses to publicly condemn the gruesome murder of the female Sokoto student who was killed over alleged blasphemy is a coward.

The politician stated this while reacting to the gruesome murder of Deborah Samuel, a student at the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, on Thursday, May 12.

Taking to his Instagram page, FFK insisted that any leader that remains silent and fails to publicly condemn the horrific murder is a coward.

In his words,

“Any so-called leader that remains silent and refuses to publicly condemn the murd*r of Deborah is a C*WARD. I don’t care who or what you are: if you cannot bring yourself to condemn this cold-blo*ded and horrific murd*r then you are nothing but a C*WARD and I have contempt for you.”
