A woman identified simply as Belle has taken to social media to share her excitement after getting engaged to the love of her life, singer Yatta Don Dada.
Despite being incarcerated, the singer went above and beyond to surprise Belle with a romantic and heartfelt proposal. He orchestrated the rental of a stadium decorated with beautiful flowers and an alphabet prop that reads ‘Marry Me’.
Even from behind bars, he arranged for a tablet on a platform to virtually propose to his lover, and as expected, she gleefully accepted his proposal.
Belle shared photos and videos from the virtual proposal on her Instagram page, stating that her boyfriend, now fiancé, has done more for her behind bars than anyone else on the streets.
She wrote,
“2.12 the day I received my FOREVER valentine. I got engaged to my bestfriend, my life partner, MY PERSON. It’s been such a journey with you my love. You gotta be built for this shit, I ain’t go lie. The sleepless nights, the commute, the time apart, my worry about you every day with you being in there…
I never met such an intelligent human being like you. The way you think in life, the way you move, you teach me something new EVERY DAY. I never met somebody who wanted MORE for me. I never knew what real love felt like til I met you.
To be able to be loved by you is the biggest blessing within itself. I never had nobody in my corner or who’s full throttle on my team. Right or wrong. You’ve done more for me behind them bars more than anybody on these streets. You’re the definition of making it happen. The most selfless person I know.
