A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to share her journey of transformation after she decided to quit bleaching her skin.
Sharing in a video on TikTok, the lady, who identifies as @healing_chronicles revealed how determined she was to return to her natural dark complexion as she shares her struggle.
The lady mentioned that she ventured into the skincare market six years ago but had low patronage from customers because she was dark-skinned, hence, she resulted to using her facial whitening products to enhance profit.
She added that she had promised herself to stop bleaching if her products began to make sales but over the years it has been a struggle to return to her natural complexion as she found herself trapped in the charm of her bleached skin.
She said,
“I fought day and night to come to a realization that I would definitely get rid of this skin one day. Each time I look at the myself in the mirror…there is no way I’m letting go off this skin”
However, she summoned the courage to quit bleaching her skin after seven years of contemplating and being devoted to bleaching. It wasn’t hard to recover her complexion because she didn’t bleach with an active cream but with soap.
