A Nigerian man who identified as @IamEkene_ has shared on the microblogging platform X, how his wife-to-be cursed him because he couldn’t buy her a wig.
Sharing in several tweets, he stated that a date for their wedding had already been fixed but he had to cancel because of what she did.
He wrote;
A woman I was dating and engaged asked me to purchase a wig for her. I told her I didn’t have the resources for it at the moment. She looked me in the eye with bitterness and told me as long as I kept “maltreating” her by denying her wants, God will keep doing the same to me. I stood up from the bed at that moment, had my bath, and went to work.
I spent the whole day in introspection. I projected 10 years into the future and I didn’t see any scenario where I was going to have a supportive human as a wife or be happy if I didn’t constantly renew my subscription with her. I had to let her go for good.
It was an extremely tough decision as we had gone far with preps to spending together for a lifetime but I knew that lifetime would be hell if I eventually sealed it. 2023 taught me a lot and I would rather stay single or a baby daddy than settle for nonsense.
It’s not as if I didn’t want to buy the wig. I was planning my wedding on a budget. I didn’t want to exceed it. And things were really expensive so I was cutting down in excesses. She already has 2 bone straights. She wanted a wedding wig and I told her I didn’t have the resources for it at the time. She became furious and cussed out. I couldn’t believe my ears. Omo!
