American Idol has been the launch pad of some of music’s biggest names, but Kanye West has decided to hit reverse on his career just for one day.
Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr., the hosts of American Idol, were treated to a surprise yesterday, as they were greeted by a familiar face during Idol auditions in San Francisco.
Kanye stepped on stage like an upcoming act. He told the judges that he wanted to try his hand at starting from the bottom.
Kanye raps lines from “Gold Digger,” and namedrops J. Lo: “My psychic told me she’ll have an ass like Serena / Trina, Jennifer Lopez, four kids.”
