A Nigerian lady had a surprising encounter with her estate security guard after he responded to her morning greeting with an unexpected compliment.
Recounting the experience, the lady said she greeted the security guard with a simple “Good morning” as she started her day.
However, instead of the usual response, the security guard replied, “Good morning, beautiful.”
Surprised by the unexpected compliment, she jokingly asked if she heard him correctly.
She wrote, “Ahhhh!!!! From where to where na?? Be like na ear dey pain me true true. I go confirm when I come back later.”
Her reaction suggested that she was so taken aback by the security guard’s response that she planned to confirm whether he had actually called her beautiful when she returned.
The funny encounter highlights how the unexpected compliment left the lady momentarily confused, because it came from someone she least expected. Her reaction shows that she expected professionalism from the security guard, considering they have no primary relationship.
In the tweet, the lady @AbiemMercy wrote,
“Na ear dey pain me Abi wetin?Me to our Estate Security: Good morning.
Security: Good morning beautiful.
Ahhhh!!!!
From where to where na??
Be like na ear dey pain me true true.
I go confirm when I come back later.”
