A woman has shared a frustrating moment after returning to find that the engines of her neighbour’s two generators had been stolen, despite his attempt to secure them together with chains.
In a video shared online, the woman showed the remains of the generators, with the iron frames still joined together by the chains while the actual engines were nowhere to be found. The thieves had gone so far as to remove the engines and not take the generators whole.
His attempt to make the generators more difficult to steal by chaining them together ultimately did little to prevent the theft, as the perpetrators dismantled them and made away with the valuable parts.
The incident has sparked reactions from social media users, with many expressing disbelief at the effort the thieves went to get the generator engines. Others sympathised with the owner over the heartbreaking incident.
