Wizkid opens

Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, has opened up about the state of his mental and emotional well-being five months after his mother’s death.

The music superstar revealed that he has not been himself since his late mother, Jane Dolapo, passed away in London on August 18, 2023, at the age of 66.

According to the father of four, he feels disconnected from his reality and lacks a clear sense of direction and fulfillment due to the tragedy.

In a series of posts shared on his Instastory, Wizkid lamented his present condition and said he can’t wait to feel like himself again. He added that the pain of his mother’s death is ‘expensive.’

The ‘Essence’ crooner wrote,

“Look in the mirror don’t feel myself! Mama left me and I lost myself!
Can’t wait to feel to feel myself again. Life of a soldier!
Military with it!

Expensive pain!”

A while back, Nigerian media personality, Tufab, has opined that music superstar Wizkid is using philanthropic gestures to ease his pain and grief.
