A model, Debbie – a dark skinned, melanin poppin beauty – has taken to her Instagram page to share how Nigerian singer, Tekno rejected her for a video shoot because of the complexion of her skin.

Debbie revealed that she was supposed to be the main vixen for the music video but when Tekno arrived on set, he asked that she should not be used and opted out for a light skinned model.

To not make her feel useless, she was given another option to be in the music video but she rejected it… She wrote:

I had the worst experience today as a darkskin model, I woke up at 4am, got to Oregun on the mainland at 8am, and waited for the director @paul_gambit whom i respect a lot. Anyways to cut the story short, after all my stress, Tekno arrived on set, it was time to shoot with him. Tekno refused to use me as the main model for his #yourlovethevideo shoot cause i’m dark skin. Later he settled for me doing the full shots so a light skin model can do the closeup shots with him. But i walked out on him and his set. Dark skin women are beautiful and precious, we don’t settle for less and we don’t get to be an option, we are the option. Black girls please love your skin and never feel bad about rejection, If a Tekno rejects you, Look up to a Wizkid, Wizkid inspires me everyday to love my skin with his videos and how much he appreciates black women..

As at the time of this post, the singer is yet to react to the allegations made by the model – this comes after the singer was blasted for letting his fans down for not performing well at a show recently.

Tekno, whose time to hit the stage came after Styl-Plus, Flavour N’abania had wowed the crowd numbering about 1,000, at Transcorp Hilton in Abuja where tickets sold for N1 million Naira for gold table, N2 Million for Platinum table and 7,000 Naira, let them down, by murmuring into the mic and abruptly ending songs he performed at the event.

Mr Emmanuel Kevin who had come from Keffi in Nasarawa state to attend the show expressed disappointment at Tekno, telling the news agency that “It was disappointing to see. I could hear him every time he instructed his DJ to change a song half way through performing it. He seemed to be rushing somewhere”.

Another fan who preferred to be called Freda also expressed her disappointment in Tekno. “It was as if he did not want to be in Abuja”, she said.
