A 21-year-old man, identified as Odunare Olalekan, was filmed jumping into a lagoon in Epe local government area of Lagos state around 10am on Tuesday, December 14.
The victim, who is said to be a Ordinary National Diploma (OND) holder and a worker at Alaro City, a mega estate located along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, was seen in a viral video sitting on the railing of a bridge before plunging into the lagoon.
The man who filmed the sad incident could be heard asking about his identity, but the victim who seemed disturbed and distressed, didn’t respond.
As at the time of filing this report, his body is yet to be recovered from the lagoon.
It was further learnt that the young man who is believed to be dead, left behind a one-year-old child for his 19-year-old girlfriend.
He also reportedly told her to take care of their child before heading to the lagoon to end his life.
Watch the disturbing video below,
I wish I have in my area I will do same
Please dont try it, once there is life there is hope. God bless u
I wish we have such lagoon in my area I will do same
What makes him to takes his life
The person who did this video is an idiot, this person could have helped this young guy before jumping instead he was there filming.
I don’t know why , many people find it difficult to understand the meaning of life
Well I don’t really have much to say , taking his life isn’t the best thing he should have done
But only thing I believe in this life, when there’s life, there’s hope
To me, Am not really Encouraged with the manner , the person behind the video speaks , it’s kind of rude and it’s not consoling at all .then the guy just make tht Decision impromtly. He is a young guy , The person behind the scenes would have use is adult or maturity experience to save a soul , rather than saying ( who is he, who knows him .)I felt so weak .
Probably everyone go through a lot but taking your own life is senseless,do you know how many times I have been rejected by people and abuse by people, still am working hard to get away all those bad thoughts, may God help us, youths are really dying of oppression,no job ,nothing in this Nigeria that is free and low in price quality
