Emdee Tiamiyu, a Nigerian YouTuber who gained popularity after a controversial BBC interview in which he claimed that Nigerians use student visas as a means to migrate to the UK, has been reportedly deported from the UK to Nigeria.

The YouTuber claimed in the interview that many Nigerians use the student visa system as a means to escape from Nigeria, which reportedly influenced UK policies regarding Nigerian students.

This led to the UK government’s decision to impose new restrictions on Nigerian students bringing their families to the UK.

Now, his deportation follows his arrest on allegations of defrauding the UK government of £160,000, which was intended for his resettlement after claiming asylum but was used to build a house in Ogun State.

Tiamiyu’s deportation has sparked reactions among Nigerians, especially making it a case of Karma, and most couldn’t hide their delight at the development.
