Popular Nigerian actor, Akah Nnani has called out a popular Lagos gym for allegedly extorting him with monthly dues and membership fees.

Akah shared in a video via his Instagram page that he joined the gym a couple of months ago. He said he subscribed to the gym and promptly paid his monthly dues.

However, he was surprised when he arrived at the gym and spotted a poster saying people now have to pay yearly dues.

The gym requested that the customers should start paying for yearly membership dues. The actor noted that he is not interested in the gym membership.

He said,

“Because the gym has access to my card, they impose this membership dues on me and other people and extra seventeen thousand five hundred naira for the year and just take it without permission, my consent”

In his words, he has studied the business activities of the gym, observing how the staff are treated and how gym instructors are cheated. He criticized the gym for focusing on profit-making instead of contributing to their customers’ welfare.

He also asserted that the popular Lagos gym is oversubscribed and equipped with bad and outdated facilities.

The actor demanded the money that the gym extorted from him, as it was not used to upgrade the gym facilities or to open a branch near his residence.
