South African Comedian and host of ‘The Daily Show’, Trevor Noah has been picked to host next year’s Grammy Awards.

The Recording Academy made the announcement hours before the nominees for the upcoming show are revealed.

The comedian confirmed this via a statement, he said ;

“Despite the fact that I am extremely disappointed that the GRAMMYs have refused to have me sing or be nominated for best pop album, I am thrilled to be hosting this auspicious event”.

“I think as a one-time GRAMMY nominee, I am the best person to provide a shoulder to all the amazing artists who do not win on the night because I too know the pain of not winning the award! (This is a metaphorical shoulder, I’m not trying to catch Corona). See you at the 63rd GRAMMYs!”

The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, on the CBS Television Network at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. The Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony will be streamed live on GRAMMY.com at 3:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. PT.

Love is a beautiful thing and there is no doubt about that.

A couple who recently sealed their union gave audience more reason to be awed after it turned out that they met in secondary school.

Their ‘before-and-after’ photos went viral on social media and it got people gushing over the fact that they stayed true to each other through these years.

A trending conversation on social media shows the moment a man shut down a woman who tried shooting her shot at him.

According to the lady, she’s single and she decided to try her luck with a friend of hers who was also single, sadly, it meant a brick wall.

The story reads ;

I am a 28-year-old woman, single and not yet married.

I decided to shoot my shot, to one of my friends who just turned 30 since he’s single, focused and organized.

He answered me and said ”You’re a school teacher, your salary doesn’t accomodate my vision board, i will pass.

A Nigerian lady identified as Omalicha, has berated men who split the bills with their wife or girlfriend, while out on a date.

There is a term called “Going dutch”, used to describe when each party on a date pays for their own expenses. According to Omalicha, it is stupid for a man to agree to it.

The lady stated that any man who splits the bills must be shameless, as he doesn’t have an iota of pride to foot the full bill.

In a related news, A lady has recounted how a man she went on a date with ditched her after she refused to pay his bill.

The lady identified on twitter as Coco The Lagos Baker, recounted going on a date with a man her cousin introduced her to and after they both ordered and finished up, he expected her to pay the bill which she refused.

According to her, she paid for only what she had but the man who had expected her to pay the entire bill started making up lies that he forgot his ATM in the car. She however insisted she was not paying the bill and that was the beginning of the end of a date gone sour.

The video of a woman in hijab, who slumped while delivering a speech has been making rounds on social media.

According to reports, the woman identified as Mrs. Hajjiya Bisola Rahama Zakariyya, is the principal of Elkanemi College Of Islamic Theology (Girls Section) and the unfortunate incident occurred in Maiduguri, on Saturday, November 21.

She was reportedly rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of an undisclosed hospital, but died on Tuesday, November 23.

A lecturer, @Ak_Yusufari took to Twitter to mourn the death of the deceased. He wrote,

“Surely every soul shall taste death! My condolence to all staffs and students of Elkanemi College of Islamic theology Maiduguri over the sudden death of Mrs. Zakariya the principal of girls section, it is a great loss not only to Elkanemi family but to Borno State and Nigeria.”

A viral video has captured the moment a lady surprisingly proposed marriage to her boyfriend at his workplace.

Contrary to the tradition of men being the ones to ask for the hands of a woman in marriage, the unidentified lady has demonstrated the highest level of love as she proposes to her heartthrob and luckily she got a yes.

The man who looked surprised and shocked beamed with smile, as he accepts the ring, agreeing to spend the rest of his life with her.

In other news, a Nigerian man is in a celebratory mood following his older white lover’s acceptance of his marriage proposal.

The man took to Twitter to share photos of the moment he popped the four-word question and she accepted amid joy and excitement.

He had arranged to propose in a room well decorated with flowers, balloons, confetti and a ‘Will You Marry Me’ blown up balloon hung on the the wall.

Sharing the photos, he wrote; “Awww. She said YES. This is true love!!”

A trending photo of a child drawing an assault rifle on a wall in Yobe state has elicited sad reactions from Nigerians on social media.
